As someone who has 1,160.6 hours on Mad Max from 2018-2024. Yes. You should play mad max in 2024. The progression is a little straightforward where it eventually tapers off where youve become the biggest baddest with the greatest things but then have nothing to fight, so my recommendation is to keep it simple. Dont mindlessly grind just for the sake of getting the best equipment for your car. Grind for a specific thing you want for a specific vehicle loadout and work toward that, that way when you DO have it, you still have something left to use it on.
also just a PS; If you are looking for canon story stuff to correlate Mad Max (the game) to Mad Max (the trilogy) you should kinda brush most things off. This game was produced actively against George Miller's wishes for what a Mad Max game was to be. Warner bros basically took whatever George Miller material they could (including future content at the time for what is now Furiosa) and ran with it. A great example of this is the side mission you get from Hope called "Ghosts of the Past". Go to that location, simply look at the drawings on the walls, and if you have watched Furiosa, youll see familiar sights. You'll unlock the "Demented Chariot", which is a homage to Dementus from Furiosa.
DOUBLE PS; if you want to see all the combos and cool moves that Max can do when youve unlocked a plethora of skills, DO NOT EQUIP SUPER HIGH QUALITY KNUCKLE DUSTERS. you will quite literally kill your enemies far too fast to see all the cool combos that you can do.
Bro i just finished replaying since 2016 when i was like 14 this game so good 😭
