    I shop all year long because my kids start as soon as they finish a curriculum/ grade they are in. Most likely the Monday after there birthday is when they start the new grade. This is because we homeschool year around. I started my kids in school learning the Monday after they turned three.

    Another great video Becky! Thank you so much for sharing your curriculum choices, experiences, and opinions! Priceless!!
    I was just reminding my husband this morning that it's time to start getting next year's curriculum. I like to get mine in sections because I can't lesson plan them all out all at once. It's nice to be able to break up the expense as well.

    I was so happy to see your curriculum. I was hoping you would have different choices other than the good and the beautiful. It seems everyone is doing that curriculum on you tube and I'm steering away from it. Had to unsubscribe from a few because of it. So thank you for sharing, you did not disappoint here!

      @@aplacetonest I think TGTB is also a good curriculum. The problem for us was that my daughter likes to work independently and the curriculum is for the most part teacher led. I re-read my comment and I see how I made it seem like it was not a good curriculum. Anyhow, I am happy to be able to see other choices. Thank you!

    I have been using TGTB for grades K and 1....now I’m feeling like I need to branch out and use different curriculum for each part of language arts instead of all together in the TGTB program. I feel like some things are getting lost from bouncing around so much and not focusing on each part. Anyways, thanks for this video, it gives me ideas even tho my daughter is going into 2nd grade technically. I’m going to go find your 3rd grade picks and watch that because she’s working more on that level in each program. Love your videos! Homeschool and Disney!

      She does the basic subjects every day like math, reading, english, etc. We don't do science every day and with our history program being new, I'm not sure if they will require her to do it every day or not. I am hoping to do a schedule of her work once the new school year begins.

    For TT, do you prefer your daughter to write her problems in the physical textbook? Or does she input them online?
    Also, did you consider TGTB for LA for your younger daughter as well?

    • @aplacetonest
      @aplacetonest  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We’ve done both with TT but right now, they do them on the computer and any they miss, I have them go back and do them in the workbook. I did think about switching her to TGATB because it’s working so well for my oldest but BJU is working well for my youngest so I see no reason to switch her.

  • @domesticchaoscoordinator3743

    Do you alternate all the Language Arts/Grammar/Reading throughout the week? Or does she do it all each day?

    • @aplacetonest
      @aplacetonest  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BJU already does that for me since each chapter alternates between writing and grammar. As for reading, yes, she does some sort of reading activity each day. Usually she will do a page of the Word Study book, a reading comprehension sheet and some individual reading time in her chapter book.

  • @sarahsmith5077
    @sarahsmith5077 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I see for 3rd grade you TGATB history and the 4th grade you switched to BJU Heritage Studies? Is there a reason for this? Did you like or dislike TGATB history?

    • @aplacetonest
      @aplacetonest  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Mostly because I wanted a more traditional curriculum that required more reading on her part. With TGATB's history, there really isn't any student reading required and I think that's important.

    • @aplacetonest
      @aplacetonest  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We do 5 days a week, for the most part. When they have co-op, they usually do a bit less than a typical day once they get home. To be honest, I'm not too concerned with finishing an entire level of BJU each school year. I feel that causes too much pressure and stress for both of us. We just take it one lesson as a time and finish the book when we can. That's why we have a few lessons to finish in BJU 3 before we can start BJU 4 in the fall.
