    Clyde....At the risk of crossing a boundry I must ask/tell you that you should have NO apprehensions concerning asking people to "Like and Subscribe." You have put together a high quality station witch is LOADED with information, incentive and the likes. Please get in the habit of reminding those of us out here in TH-cam Land of the realistic need to like and subscribe. I for one hope to be watching your videos for quite some time to come. Thank you for your efforts. - Los Angeles .

      Gouldian finches are not European, they are native to Australia.. which is on the other side of Europe. 😅 they don’t come from anywhere else in the wild, only native to the top end of Australia.

      Hi Jim. We had some sound issues earlier on in season 1 as we figured out our equipment limitations. The sound towards the end of Season 1 got a lot better. I do plan to get some high quality microphones to improve it a lot more. Thanks for the feedback.

    My male gouldian died while having 5 babies in the nest. Babies are of 5 days old and I can’t hand feed female is there but I am confused whether should I introduce a male to her or just left like that will she raise the babies alone or abandoned them. Please help!!

    • @thehouseofgouldians
      @thehouseofgouldians  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Definitely do not introduce another male until she has either raised the chicks and weaned them or they have died. Unfortunately their is no guarantees that she will look after them but the fact that they 5 days old there is a good chance as they will shout for food.

    How can I bread blues in New Zealand as we don't have blues in NZ

    • @thehouseofgouldians
      @thehouseofgouldians  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jan.
      The problem is that they don't have the mutation in the first place so theoretically none of the birds are split for blue either. The only way would be to import a blue if they allow it or one would have to randomly pop up like the original blue bird did. (Very little chance of that happening I'm afraid).

    • @jansnyman1934
      @jansnyman1934 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for this, yes No live birds can be imported, it's a shame would like to have some blues

    • @thehouseofgouldians
      @thehouseofgouldians  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Seagreens are a sex linked recessive from what we know so far but a lot more work needs to be done with this mutation. I terms of Ivory I have not hears of it bit perhaps someone on the chat can assist.

      I get it from a place that specializes in herbs for birds. Drop me an email and I will see what additional information I have on it for you.
