Really great. Just wanna say something about his view of Buddhism: while monks may live in monasteries, Mahanaya Buddhism (e.g., the Zen school that milo mentioned) is all about living in the world rather than running away from it. Rather than _detachment_, it's about _non-attachment_. The difference is that detachment entails a hands-off-edness -- a distance and a level of withdrawal from the world, whereas non-attachment avoids for total engagement/experience/presence while avoiding the usual pitfalls that usually trip us up. If Buddhist adepts and their ilk were cold, as milo suggests, then there wouldn't be teachings and practices in Buddhism all about how to enjoy the sensual and aesthetic beauty, from the taste of food to art, nature, and even sex. Those practices/teachings involve totally giving yourself to the sensation/joy of the moment being, which is something that makes you a warm personality rather than a cold one. That is to say, the point is to see the emptiness of sensation and emotion, not to desensitize yourself. It's the middle way -- you're not denying sense experience but you're skilled in preventing such things from causing you any problems. It's about avoiding problematic extremes, not avoiding the emotion, sensation, and relation to the point that you're a robot. Plus, whereas milo seems to think that in Buddhism the point is to attain and sustain forever a state of perfect tranquility, even Zen Masters acknowledge that you're absolutely guaranteed to feel the full spectrum of emotions and to be susceptible to mental chaos until you die. It's nice that the early sutras depict Gautama as attaining perfect, constant coolness, but nobody's ever kidded fooled themselves into thinking they'll totally extinguish samsara. It is not possible to live a mystically cold, detached life, nor is it the point. milo points out that everything is impermanent, but he forgets that this means peace is impermanent too. Almost every Buddhist priest/master/lama on record has stories about them displaying the full range of human emotions. The one that sticks with me the most is when Thich Nhat Hanh famously had to excuse himself from his own Q&A session because he became unbearably angry and upset when someone at a speaking event asked a cruel question about Vietnamese children deserving to be killed by napalm. Again, it's openly acknowledged that total and lasting "cool" is neither possible nor the goal. Rather, one aim (among several) in Buddhism is to become skilled in recognizing, preventing, and smoothing out the problems (like "grasping") that arise as we do our thang. The difference between a practicing Buddhist and a non-Buddhist "grasper" isn't that the Buddhist never grasps, but that the Buddhist knows how to recognize, avoid, correct, and forgive themselves for the grasping.
Milo One of the most underappreciated rappers out there One thing milo said that really hit me "I would trade my whole fanbase for one last handshake from robert" Milo
Your dad had u ring his conundrum clean, then gave him 20 bucks to humble himself! And knew that later on in life he would ponder on it! Your dad was planting a seed my man! Real man for god right there! I give out free food to bumbs it makes me cry! Humble before my stomach starts to grumble! Amen
I guess you can say this about other artist as well but I really feel like Rory is the rap games Peter Parker in a way. Milo was born in reaction to the lost of his friend just as how Spider-Man was born to honor Oncle Ben. Amazing interview! (no pun intended)
Really great.

Hey! I was surprised to hear my interview with Busdriver at the beginning of this. It only took me six years to stumble upon it. :)
