      Cassandra Bankson Hi Cassandra! Thanks for the great videos! How much tea tree oil do you put in with the maracuja? I usually mix a drip of the Tarte maracuja in with my foundation, can you do that with the tea tree oil mixture or is it best applied under primer and moisturizers?
      Also how can you tell if you have a good rosehip oil? I bought mine on Amazon on a whim and use this the most (skin has been really flaky for some reason-now worried about mites!!). Brand is Aria Starr and ingredient is 100% pure cold-pressed rosehip oil. It’s been a lifesaver but always question beauty products on Amazon.
      Thanks again and have a wonderful day beautiful lady!

      is rosehip oil ok to use during the daytime? i’m trying to find a good daytime oil. i also has benzoyl in my skin regimen so i’m trying to find something that won’t counteract that or irritate my skin. would mean so SO much if you could get back to me bc i’ve been asking soooo many skin and beauty gurus but they never, ever read back out. :/
      if you’ve taken the time to read this thank you so much Cassandra you have no idea.

    1. Rosehip oil (use a couple of drops, little marks)
    2. Jojoba oil (scar, use at night)
    3. Tea Tree Oil + Maracuja/Jojoba
    (Never use tto alone)
    4. Maracuja Oil (anti-aging, dry, mature, cystic)

    Great video Cassandra, I use jojoba and tea tree oil everyday, it’s amazing for acne.
    But just one tip, all oils, especially essential oils, need to be stored in a brow or blue recipient, in order to guarantee their quality. So pay attention everyone and prefer oils in those package.

    when i had acne i heald it with oils. i used grapeseed oil as cleanser.
    and after i cleaned the grapeseed oil i used jojoba oil with lavender eich is great mix for acne, and for night i used jojoba oil with camomile oil which is very expensive oil hut worth it. i really recommend these oils becouse they non comedogenic and antibacterial and very healthy for skin.

  • @Lioness006
    @Lioness006 5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I knew jojoba would be on your list bc it is the closest to our skin's natural oils. Was thinking maybe Argan, Sweet Almond, or Grapeseed oil could be on the list. Or even Avocado or Evening Primrose. I thought about Tea Tree bc of its antibacterial properties but didn't know if it would count since it is an essential oil. I also read about Tamanu oil and it sounds particularly suited to people with oily/acne-prone skin. I always forget about Marula oil though.

    Oh! I just thought of something! You should do a video on the effects of cannabis on the skin (CB2 receptors). It’s super fascinating and not something many people are well-versed in or are even aware of!

    • @jackie5725
      @jackie5725 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fallen leaves smoking anything is probably not great for your skin! your logic makes sense though. I was referring more to skincare that incorporates CBD. We have receptors all throughout our body for this molecule but our skin is has a lot of a receptor called CB2 receptors. When a good CBD topical is applied to the skin it has been shown to help inflammation, discoloration, eczema, etc. It’s extremely fascinating!

    • @livthedream91
      @livthedream91 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jackie Waple
      Hi Jackie. Do you recommend using the same CBD we take internally as a topical? I’ve not yet tried CBD oil even though I partake of the good weed on rare occasions. It’s all legal here in Colorado.

    • @jackie5725
      @jackie5725 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Liv TheDream there are some awesome cannabis skincare lines out there. One is called Color Up Therapeutics. I would definitely check those out before using CBD oil that is meant for sublingual use on your skin. On rare occasion though I have used one based in MCT oil (a derivative of coconut oil) on certain small areas of skin to help with healing or inflammation.

      The difference would occur if a product specified between rosehip FRUIT or rosehip SEED as the source of the oil, differentiating between different parts of the same plant. Most rosehip oils are exclusively rosehip SEED oil, and that is what you will see on the label. The oil Cassandra suggests in this video actually contains both rosehip SEED and FRUIT oil... that's why its called rosehip oil instead of specifying one or the other! Anyway... she does such a great job of explaining everything, and her science based guidance on skin friendly oils has been so helpful for me... hope this little clarification helps!

      Ikr I use the ordinary rosehip seed oil and I'm always fine. Idk what the difference is. Usually with oils I've found cold-pressed is the way to go..

    Using aloe oil that was prepared in a sunflower oil base. If I want to include jojoba oil, what is the lowest percentage that will be effective (without making the product too heavy)? Thanks.

    I'm pretty sure terpenes don't contribute at all to the high you get from the plant they really just create the flavor of the strain.

    • @hananovinger

      I use it and I have oily/acne prone skin. It helped a lot with my acne. You just need to go through the purging phase when using jojoba. My husband has dry/flakey/eczema prone skin and it hydrates his skin and makes his skin glowy. He loves it! 😄

    Hey, Cassandra! I am a little confused because last time you said that oleic acid disrupts the skin's barrier function and that we should avoid using olive oil but you recommend jojoba oil even if it contains some too?

    • @auduf
      @auduf 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, how can I have access to the composition of each oil? Do you just email the companies and ask them? How do they even know? I feel like most companies wouldn't really invest in doing the tests, am I wrong?

    Hi! Have you ever tried hazelnut oil? I know all the oils you are talking about in your video but to me, haselnut oil is the very very best for oily and acne prone skin. I use the brand Oden. It is made in france and 100% organic and slow cosmetic. I cured my cystic acne with this oil (and celery juice and a vegan diet). This oil is a gem if you ever wanna try something else. Xxxx

    • @browneyedgirlgb
      @browneyedgirlgb 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      After! Oils can penetrate moisturizers, but it's more difficult for a moisturizer to penetrate an oil. Also, oils can create a nice barrier to seal in your moisturizers serums, etc.

    Hi Cassandra!! ❤️ So I’ve been using coconut oil for years now and it’s never broken me out, is it actually doing something good then? Your coconut oil video was helpful, but now I’m a bit concerned about using it even though I have acne-prone skin and it’s never broken me out! Thanks 😘

    Hi, you said in your vid that the Trilogy oil is rosehip and not rosehip seed, however their website says otherwise www.trilogyproducts.com/collections/rosehip-oil/products/certified-organic-rosehip-oil-45ml. Also if you research for rosehip only oil it is pretty much impossible to find it, does it actually exist and is it really so different?
