I have never understood why any of these reviewers have ever pointed out the part of the movie where the store owner is watching Dodger take a bath in his basement after getting beat up
Am I the only one that finds it weird that there are a bunch of 20 year-old bullies chasing an 11 year-old kid? It seems a bit... inappropriate I should say.
My mother was really mad at me for renting this when I was a kid. She gave me money to go down the street and rent a movie, and being an 8 year old boy, I thought this one would be super good. It really wasn't, though I loved it at the time. Can't say I'm not sorry for putting my mother and sisters through watching it with me, though.
Kind of the same for me. I rented this from the video store and started watching it. I got about 5 minutes into the movie when my mother, who was half watching it with me, clearly saw what kind of movie it was and made the excuse that it was way past my bed time and that I could watch it another time. That 'another time' never came. I guess I was also about 8 years old. She basically saved me from watching a piece of shit movie. I used to have the stickers that came with the gum that I'd stick on my bedroom door. My mother told me to take them off because it was apparently scaring my younger brother. In reality, she was probably sick of seeing shitty stickers of kids with melting faces (which my 8 year old self thought was super cool) and just made the excuse that it was my brother who didn't like them.
@@gwendylan1475 Yep, after her initial reaction to my renting it, which was admittedly rather harsh, she apologized and watched it with me. She even said it was really good, though in hindsight, I realize she was just making up for her initial reaction. :D

I remember when I was 4-5 and was begging my mother to take me to see this movie. I was a big fan of the cards. I remember my mother saying that she didn’t want to see that gross movie as she hated the cards...well, she never took me...about 25 years later I was at my boys house and saw the movie in his collection. I got excited when he said I could borrow it. But he warned me, it is not gonna be what I imagine. Found the perfect time to watch it while the fam was sleep...called my mother the next day and praised her for always knowing best! At least garbage is in the title!
The cool looking VHS cover plus the fact that I collected the garbage pail kids cards as a 80s kid is what made me rent this movie as a 6 year old. I got maybe 20 minutes into the movie before I realized it was not getting any better and I shut it off. So even 6 year old me had some standards lol. The cards were awesome and disgusting in the best way possible. My siblings and I had nearly the whole collection. Also I vividly remember renting another weird movie the same day as GBK. manzini has some epic eye brows
Glad to see another video, Mark. I hope your hiatus means that you've been working on lots of new stuff!
At first I thought maybe just the washing machine was magic, but then he did that weird fire spark thing and I got confused again. Also, did anyone notice the horrible stunt double during the fashion show fight scene lol.
Thank you Mark! We've waited so long! Haha Good work man, I love your videos :)
