    😮 WOW!!! I was NOT expecting that little bitty pot underneath that massive petunia!!!

      The smaller pots do need more attention on the watering but the Proven Winners Petunia plants do really well

    I don't have a greenhouse but have a storage room connected to the house that is colder than the house but not freezing. Would that work as a spot to keep my hanging plant over winter?

    During the winter months , how often should we water the plant?

      I water from the bottom which means I have the pots sitting in trays and I don’t let them dry out completely they should stay damp not soggy. My conditions are most likely different from other parts of the country or world 🌎. I live in the Pacific Northwest of Washington state and it stays damp outside all winter so I don’t need to water as much as someone who lives in an arid condition. Hope that helps. I just put up some petunias that I’ve been growing for 4 years now. It does work

      @@BusyBeaver22 I thought they were a plant that could maximum survive 2 years, I hear that somewere. Do you know how long they can survive with proper care? Also is the same for all petunia veraieties?

      @@danielchrenko1898 I’m not sure about the 2 year issue. I’ve had mine a few years but I also take a lot of cuttings off of them in the fall and spring time also. Really anytime that there’s soft new growth is a great time to take cuttings. All petunias should behave the same

    Should I cut them back or just cut the dead shoots off?

    • @BusyBeaver22
      @BusyBeaver22  ปีที่แล้ว

      I cut them so they are manageable. If you have a greenhouse space you can hang them cut them back by 1/2. If you are trying to overwinter in a shed or inside room I would cut them back by 3/4

      @@BusyBeaver22 So cut them back ...even if they have blooming flowers on stems? A good portion of both my hanging petunias are still very green...some baby shoots have started near root base ...I have them in the cellar in front of sliding glass door...gets chilly but plenty of sunlight and oil furnace is about 10 feet away. I live in Maine..the winters are rugged.

      @@northernlights9637 if you have the room to let them grow and flower then by all means. Enjoy the flowers as long as possible my hanging baskets get 3’ long and too large to manage over the winter so I cut them back
