  • Sorry about the audio issues... There are some challenges I'm facing around this.
    This was a local club trip round what is called the Loch Shiel Circuit.
    Starting west coast Scotland, at Glenfinnan was paddled the loch, river and onto the sea.
    🥰😍👍👍👍
    Thanks for watching the video, PLEASE give it a thumbs up if you have enjoyed it? 👍👍👍 🥰😍

    Great video James. Magnificent scenery and awesome grub.
    THE tent is lovely. Almost as lovely as the wooden canoe.

      Cheers Doug. Yes the weather was good, apart from one night when it rained almost all night. But, that's all part of the fun.
      Thanks for the comment.

    That was awesome fella, i think you're best video yet (and that's not because I'm in it) very much captured the vibe of the trip, but thankfully not all of it! So....... can we do it again?!?

      Brilliant. It's one of the aims of why we do these videos is to try and inspire others.
      Let me know if you get round to doing the full circuit.

    Yum-yum, indeed!! 😆
    Shame about your tent; perhaps you should get a new one? 😉
    Totally with you on the joy of smooth paddling. It’s an art that takes less than five minutes to understand, and a lifetime to perfect. Along with the concept of planting the paddle, and it stays still while you pull past it. It’s one of the reasons we continue to go out in boats, isn’t it, that joy of honing an art form? (That, and the siren call of the Water Sprite!)
    Loving your dinners (yum-yum!) but it always bothers me to see you put it all on a cold wrap-surely warming the wrap would be better, right? Probably a Texas thing (grew up there).
    Still glad to see you practicing the LNT behaviors, and cleaning up your campsites. Great example-as was your decision to portage your gear around the rapid. With age comes wisdom, eh?
    Great luck in avoiding high winds or rainy days…and banjos…
    As always, your drone shots are lovely-especially around the castle! “Stunnin’!”
    The final campfire scene: 😂😂 Well lubricated marshmallows! 😂😂
    Thanks again, James, for taking us on a wonderful journey! Cheers to you and your friends!

      Cheers Frank. Indeed!
      We were sitting one night and Caroline mentioned about a poem that she had wrote, the Water Sprite. We all thought it was fantastic and too good not to include it on the video. It's one of those experiences we'll all look back on and recall the poem. I thought it was great.
      The cold wraps... I hadn't thought about warming them up. Watch this space.
      Thanks for the comments Frank. Catch up soon.

    Fantastic video James, I was on that very Loch last year. We didn’t do the circuit as we had to get back to Glenfinnen but a beautiful Loch.

      Thanks Martin. Yes indeed it is a nice loch. You should try and get back for the circuit. The Castle is spectacular. Worth a visit even if you don't paddle.
      Cheers

      Yes it’s a plan to get back there. Unfortunately the weather gods were against us and having to get back to Glenfinnen

    Hi James, great vid and thanks for posting, is the monument a good place to leave a car overnight?

    • @JamesFleming888
      @JamesFleming888  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hey there, I'm not sure. I have checked the NTS (www.nts.org.uk/visit/places/glenfinnan-monument/planning-your-visit) web site, it doesn't say anything about overnight parking. I guess if you pay your ticket, it should be fine?
      When we did the circuit - there was a local right next to the launch point who suggested we leave a car in their garden (for £5). I think he had space for 3/4 cars so it was a nice earner for him.

    Always fancied doing loch shiel. The question I have is where would I safely park the car for multi night parking as I know there is no overnight parking at the Glenfinnan car park.

    • @JamesFleming888
      @JamesFleming888  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well, it turns out that when we were taking our kit off the cars and getting ready at the pier, one of the local residents offered us a few spaces to leave cars in their garden, for a tenner each, whilst we were paddling. So, top tip, look out for the locals and see if you get the opportunity to leave a car, right at the launch point, after the shuttle.
      Good luck.
