Love Shawn’s relaxed presenting style, and so much knowledge and experience. Probably the first place I would visit in the states. I may need to touch his beard though 🤗
I haven't watched your channel in ages Eric, starting to watch them all now, again. My favourite is the one with the 'racing stripe' I think that one is really cute! :) x
Bit off the topic. Eric / Shawn, what is the average size an koi should grow in 1year/2year? I like the second selected koi, love the shape and pattern.
+Rod Worx SA Great question. Of course that is predicated on the diet, pond size, genetics and filtration but i would say a run elf thumb could be 14 to 18 inches in a couple years under optimal conditions.
+ThePondDigger the size of the fish looks small, unless I heard wrong 2years old? I have some fish in the high 20cm class and they are about 5-6months old. Can a fish grow to fast? The shape of the body from top view makes for good quality, does it have an effect from an side view? the fish Shawn is showing looks allot slimmer than mine, they arnt over fed, nor have hanging / bulgy bellies. thanks Mark
This is a challenging question... I'm quite new to keeping Koi. Someday, I want to experience the breeding koi process and selling quality pond koi; at least once. For pattern, I would select the "lightening bolt' one. For a potential breeder, I'd go with the best body shape, so the "maru tan" (forgive misspelling) aka the second kohaku talked about. :)
For my sort of water fall pond Ill chose Shubunkin goldfish and cross breed with Koi .In my case Heron and Stork dictate my choice having lost 1000 dollar Koi six in one evening . Shubunkin are far faster can be just a interesting and far cheaper. Will grow to about 10 inch long and fill the purpose of having a pond in a garden.
I really love the lightning bolt with the lucky eye, beautiful fish, but I feel like the second one with the great body is the more professional choice.
+Feraz Sahabdool Google Mystic Koi in Upland Ca and ask for Shawn. Tell him you saw him on TH-cam. Or you can Google Koi Smart in Florida and ask For Alex. He is a personal friend of mine and is a great resource for koi and pond supplies.
Number two is my favourite big frame and structure is essential for me. Love the videos watched every single one. Keep them coming. Thanks!
+brick4774 Thanks for participating! You keep watching, we'll keep filming!

I like the one with the stripe on his tail and the orange in the middle of the body and how his/her head had a lot of red on it!
I believe Both Eric and Shaun will choose either the larger (2 step one side/3 step) or the 3rd koi
+omar halal Thanks for watching! Stay Tuned.
I really love the lightning bolt with the lucky eye, beautiful fish, but I feel like the second one with the great body is the more professional choice.

"Looking for thick tails, broad shoulders"
Koi: are you calling me fat?!
Ha😂🤣
как можно пообщаться с производителем и задать ему личные вопросы? Я из России меня интересует этот вид бизнеса в добавок ко всем которые имею сейчас.
Спасибо огромное.
I need some directions how can I get to his fish shop in Florida or how can I contact him by email of Facebook
Since body is most important, he'll pick the second one. The classical. I would:) nice vid
I personally can't choose one I love them all three of them, kois are just such an interesting and pretty fish type
+Augimal 24 It is a hard selection.
Well I like the 2nd one. With the big shoulders. Eric likes the last one, with the lighting pattern, I'm guessing.
+Ron Yelenich You guessed me right.
