The Blue Angels show is better with upgraded Super Hornets. They do the dirty roll after takeoff and dirtty loop, gear extended and have always flown tighter formations. I have witnessed both for over 40 years.
@@747heavyboeing3 ye that's what I'm saying the Birds flew tighter back in the day even with the T-38s would have loved to see the Birds in tye F-4 and T-38
Love the cartridge starts ....big smokey display before they even get airborne lol. These aircraft have not had the combustor can revisions for their J-79 engines, they still blech copious amounts of sooty black smoke. Looks super cool.
I was stationed at NKP Thailand in 1972 and you could always tell when an F-4 was approaching the runway even from miles away. That smoke trail they put out was a dead give away.
Nice video, I vaguely remember the F4 team just prior to transition to the T38s in the early 70s, as an active duty member/USAF in the 70s& 80s it was my privilege to see the Nellis Home unit facility. The “BLUES” are awesome but I’ve a bias to the “ T-BIRDS”!! Thanks P.S. Those F4s were AWESOME BEASTS!
That is a great video when you consider they were all film cameras back then. The mounts and angles, seeing the control surfaces moving and the proximity when they are flying the equivalent of a brick. The F4 put the "L" in loud and the "S" in smoke..did you catch the and trays during the briefing.. Thanks for posting...I also saw the music was an original score, it was pretty cool and took a lot of effort..
It'd be nice to see this film get the full color restoration treatment so it looks like what the camera saw, with true colors. It's in nice shape overall but the fading of colors is very obvious.
The music in this film is fantastic! The Air Force Academy's orchestra really knew how to play that jazz!
I was in the Navy for six years. There is nothing as badass as a Phantom taxiing on the ramp.
T-38 was my favorite thunderbird aircraft
The Thunderbirds demo is so watered down today....I wish I could go back and witness this greatness

Great Airshow bird.
Big and impressive!!

The F4, the most efficient way to turn JP4 into smoke and noise and the only fighter to serve the Air Force, Navy and Marine corp.
Great video.
I was at the Orlando air and space show where they performed. But the highlight of that show for me was the F22 Raptor
My favorite Air Force demo airplane.
Today the F 16 since 1984 and definitely time for a change.
Blue Angels upgraded to the Super Hornet.

Even though growing up around MCAS Cherry Point and am partial to the Blue Angels, I think the High Bomb Burst is untouchable.
Top👍👍
No airshow put on by the Thunderbirds has ever been surpassed by the mighty phantom.
Saw them in 73' at Fresno air terminal
I saw them in 1972 at Otis AFB, and most of the team was the same as depicted in this film…
Who needs smoke generators when you have J79s?

More like ambassadors in red, white and blue since the planes are those colors as well as the flight uniforms.
Why aren’t there any older air show vids like this But with JUST the Noise of the Show ? Like WITHOUT Background music or edited
I puked in the bag 3 times
