They sure did. My family was living at the Air Force Academy in the mid/late 1970s. As a kid I used to watch the Thunderbirds perform every spring for the cadet graduation from the playground at Douglas Valley Elementary School. They flew over the stadium about a mile away and I could easily watch all of the maneuvers. Having seen a few shows I was familiar with the sneak pass and one year I noticed one of the solo planes coming south along the front range mountains. He did a high bank turn, flew directly over my school, and roared over the stadium just after the diamond formation had done a pass. It was so cool from where I was standing.
T-38’s put on a good show... hated their underside paint scheme. Looked too much like automobile racing stripes instead of the beautiful bird silhouettes of the preceding F-4’s and the current F-16’s.
That is probably the most complete show of the T-38 I have ever seen. Nice!
In the USAF, I worked with the t 38 for over 3 years.
Thunderbirds put on a great show in the T-38
I miss the "Roll-back to arrowhead" maneuver.
Interesting how back then they were Captains, led by a Major or Lt Col.
Aerial ballet!... what an honour it would be to do that they must be treated like celebrities.👍✈️
Cool to see them in T-38's but also a little sad knowing what happened just two years later.
They brought the Rt Wing here back to lead the sqdn when they started it all back up in the F-16.

The T-38 is a great aircraft. The only thing it's missing is a weapons system, but that would take away its nimble handling.
That's why the F-5 was a thing.
Much more dynamic manuevers than they fly today.
hello! i just wanted to ask by chance do you know the name of the song that starts at 1:05? nice video by the way, thanks for the upload!
Did they even have a sneak pass back then?
