And I'm sure ur doing ur best to blend in to ur new surroundings,Which means meeting the locals and using local businesses..Now I no longer live in the UK,but I was born in Stepney and lived beside Victoria Pk for 10 yrs..And my oldest sister has lived in Bethnal green(near Columbia Rd for 30 odd yrs)
But over the yrs u saw a change with many of it's new imports arriving from all over the country(London has always attracted people from everywhere)But unfortunately, for the most part all they do is sample what these area's have to offer(like Pelliici's Cafe -one of many decent Cafe's to be seen at one time)But at best they have no inclination to get to know the locals(if there are any to be found) or at worst really couldn't give a monkeys f##k for them.

Love this piece. I've seen Legend and very much admired Tom Hardy's portrayal of the Krays. Little did I know that the restaurant I'd seen in the film was the actual one where they went for breakfast. I really appreciate a family owned business that's been around for as long as this. May it continue for many more years.

Two countries in the world I wish to visit, England (Well, the UK actually) and Italy. When I go to London, I'll be sure to remember this restaurant. Breakfast can be served anytime of the day, in my opinion. It feeds not only the body but the soul too. Thank you Food Insider for these in-depth videos of "Mom and Pop" diners. They are very pleasant to watch. Hint: A little more of the food would be perfect..to balance the wonderful stories of these hard working restaurant owners.

If you go to Italy and end up in Bracciano (it's a little town outside Rome that I grew up in after leaving England as a child) - on the top of Via Claudia is a fantastic pizzeria. Right across from the gelateria at the junction. Can't miss it.

It's happening everywhere. I'm in New England and gentrification has destroyed my favorite cities. They're not even salvageable anymore. An even worse trend is the corporatization. Every town in America now looks exactly the same. There's a Lowes, a Walmart, a Dominos, an Applebees etc. Local character is gone and the architecture matches the corporate image everywhere.
On one side you have a massive government progressively making more and more of a negative impact on your life and on the other miserable corporations expanding across the country. The world is NOT improving, it's collapsing into something miserable.
