Just put in your milage for 2021 if you were operational. Then on the next update of the MCS-150 to can update it wit the actual annual milage for your fleet.

Well, you are right in the crack of things. It's not a bad idea to update just to keep the spammers away. But honestly, I'd just update in 2023 and then again in 2024 and then you'll be un the correct track. I personally like to update my clients annually just to keep the Spammer Scammers at bay.

I received a letter from FMCSA that says my application was reviewed and accepted (USDOT number and MC number), but to operate legally I need insurance, BOC-3 and file and send form MCS-150. after that FMCSA confirmed DOT/MC numbers how many days I have to present the 3 requirements above and my application doesn’t be dismissed.
Augusto, now that the FMCSA has accepted your application there is a 30-35 day waiting period before they grant the authority. During that period you need to file and upload your BOC-3 (Civil Processing Agent) and get the insurance company to E-file the BMC-91x (Federal Insurance Filing) for the correct limits and will be defined by the authority and cargo you transport. General For-Hire motor carriers will be the filing to be for $750,000. Remember to get insurance copy of the MCS-90 and keep a copy in your office files. Great Question. When you are just starting the MCS-150 enter 1 mile at the beginning. Then after your first year, complete an update and add your actual mileage.
On the last page, how do you come up with the milage figure? Is it a made up number or actual number from your IFTA? ALSO, with the current year being 2021, am I putting that as the reporting year as well? Ours was last done in July of 2020, am I correct to say it's not due until July of 2022?
Great questions, Use your actual CMV fleet milage. If that is all and only IFTA then it should be simple. If you have other CMV's in your fleet like pickups and trailers or box trucks you will need to figure those mile in as well. Since it's 2021, you should report on the MCS-150 what your mileage was for 2020. You could use a projected mileage for 2021. Honestly, you just want it to be a close actual representation to your fleets actual mileage.
I was put on out of service at my fmcsa portal for my box truck because of the missing mileage, it was entered asap but how long does it take to become active again once this small correction is made? And how much should this cost me?
The update to your MCS-150 is free if you do it through the FMCSA website. The online third party venders will charge anywhere from $100-$600 in my experience. For our clients we do it as part of the service we offer. It takes like 5 minutes. Your Update to the MCS-150 should be corrected on Safer in 24 hours and you should be listed as active. EIN changes may be more difficult and require more documentation to be sent to the FMCSA. Generally, this type of update, would require paper MCS-150, Articles of Incorporation, copy of the IRS FEIN Letter, and written explanation of why the EIN is changing. Absolutely, if the MCS-150/USDOT information needs to have any information updated or corrected it can be done within the MCS-150 update. Unfortunately, some of the state partners who link to the federal program are extremely slow updating their information.

Your update is due based on the last two digits of your USDOT number. The last number is the corresponding month 1=January 2=February etc. The second to last number specifies odd or even years.
Great Question, You do not need to update the MCS-150 when you add a truck. You can simply wait for the update interval. With our clients we generally update annually, just before a compliance audit, or if the is a significant change to the program. Such as an address change or major change in equipment and drivers.
While you are setting up your company you will need t get this process started. If you are applying for Interstate operating Authority the process can take 30 days. If you later decide to not move forward the USDOT Number can be deactivated.

The emails are scammers, They never stop!!! If the last two numbers are 65, your update is due by the end of May, even number years. This year it is due. Since you did it in September you have two years, but remember, Sept 2023 the 2 years will laps and you'll be in violation. I say just do it again in May and then you'll be good until May 2024.
Your MCS-150 should have been updated when you applied for the authority. The process does take 21 days for the FMCSA to grant authority. As long as all the necessary documents (BOC-3 and Insurance BMC-91X) are filed the authority should be granted 21-25 days after the application is submitted. If the application was denied, then yes, a new updated MCS-150 will need to be filed.
When applying for operating authority you have to update the MCS-150 and complete the OP-1 Application. As long as the applications was completed recently then no you should not need to do another update. However, when in doubt you can complete an update anytime.
You need to complete and update to the MCS-150. That will correct the portal to your actual numbers. It may take 24 hours or longer for the Portal to reflect your updated changes. Owner operators have to do the MCS-150 also. Unless they are working under someone else's authority.
