Looks nice, the king of the ruby is still the Wychwood Hobgoblin 😁

I do like some stouts myself and do like a porter, but have always been a fan of the pale ales, not all of them but more than a few..

Fuggles, goldings, challenger and styrian goldings are the hops. I picked a load of fresh wild fuggles the other day and while I was doing it a guy stopped me and said he's stopped brewing but still had hops growing and I can take all I want. Winner! Doing a green hopped bitter with them.
I reckon you should do a few side by side beers, like Sainsburys IPA vs St Austel's Proper Job for example. We did it last night but not filming it. Some supermarket owns are really good.

I’ll keep my eyes open for it. Not sure if we’ll get it up her in Yorkshire yet but it certainly looks very nice.

It looked a real treat in the glass and it has been quite a while since I tried one. I will look out for a clone recipe of it and maybe brew it next year.

This was originally a Thwaites beer before Marstons recently bought them out. To be honest, and not wanting to start a turf war here, but I think Marstons have played with the recipe as I didn't like it as much when I tried it recently.

Not tried the Thwaites version myself, didn't know the did one to be honest..

@@ddoubletap3815 its this one. Moved to Marstons when they bought their beers and moved production to the midlands. Thwaites now are a smaller brewery concentrating more on craft beers.

Originally Mitchell’s of Lancaster, Thwaites brought the name and recipe when they went bust about 10 years ago.

Sounds great but how can you brew a clone of it?

There are recipes for various drinks on the brewing forums, would have to do a search and get the ingredients

I've tried both the Lancaster Bomber and the Spitfire ales. I have to be honest and say that before you even taste them, their names tug on your patriotic heart strings. I don't find them to be as good as their names suggest. Don't get me wrong; they are ok...but nothing more - and that is why they are not best sellers.
