    I like the idea of the solid tires. Too many of those prickly weeds that have spikes on them that get on shoes and clothes and stick in and flatten bike/scooter tires. Not exactly what those spikey things are called........heard terms like burrs and hitch hikers.

    I'll go with the lightning because it's more reliable. I'm not saying this because of the tires but because it's built better. I'd rather have reliability and a portable scooter that I can carry if something goes wrong then a flat tire and a massive beast of a scooter you can carry. Most scooters on the market are meant for recreation but the lightning excels as a commuter. There's not a solid tire scooter out there that can do with the lightning can do.

      @@grazz7865 well ultimately I decided to buy an Apollo City Pro and received it in August 2022. I have already put 500km on it and the only issue I've had is the notorious bad charger. Apollo promptly sent me the fast charger a few days later. For only $200 more than the Lightning, the Apollo City Pro is a much better scooter in so many ways. It has a beautiful futuristic integrated design. It is built rock solid and is only 5lbs heavier than the Lightning coming in at 70lbs. The folding mechanism is extremely easy to use and it does has a latch to hold the handlebars while carrying, and also has a carrying handle at the rear to carry while unfolded. It has 10 inch pneumatic gel filled tires which I already have two nails in the rear but still doesn't go flat!! It has a nice speedometer that shows lots of information including throttle input and regen input.
      The regen braking is so strong that I only need to use the dual drum brakes in emergency situations. The drum brakes are little to no maintenance and work well. It also has Bluetooth to link your phone and use even more features with the integrated app, like GPS ride tracking, controlling the acceleration and regen braking power, and also has a security lock feature to lock both wheels so that the scooter cannot be rolled away. With the fast charger it only takes 3 hrs to fully charge and fresh off the charger it can reach speeds of 34mph. I can easily get a 25 mile range while riding hard, and I'm sure I could get 30+ mile range riding conservatively. It has dual spring suspension in the rear with a single spring in the front. Big integrated turn signals built into the sides of the scooter that function and look great! Tall and wide handlebars. Wide deck with plenty of room.
      Only con I've found with the scooter thus far, is a design flaw. For some reason, when riding at night with the headlight and taillight on, the rear brake light will not blink when applying the brakes!! A MAJOR oversight by Apollo 🤦‍♂️ the brake light functions correctly when the lights are not turned on , like when you're riding during the day, the brake light works. Not the end of the world for me since most of my riding does take place during daytime conditions but still.... not good!!

    love the lightning, its a great e-scooter.
    My ups and downs are:
    + great torque
    + Acceleration
    + suspension, even with solid tires its ok.
    + no flat tyres
    + its fun to drive
    + design / looks, its a headturner
    - can't fold it down and lock in place. the display of the V2 version hits the rear and the lockpin just doesnt match up. even with no display, fault in frame.
    - headlight wobbles like crazy, its like a disco
    - speed limit function doesnt work (V2)
    - battery remaining power display not much usefull, cant see a percentage, just bars that go from 3 to 5 to 2 to 6...strange
    - not all the bolts are correctly on torque, some were loose on wheels and suspension, check !
    - 1 bolt on the wheel hub has damaged thread from factory
    - setting from factory don't match up to manual, even nanrobot cant explain...
    overall, its a great scooter for the money. cant find a better one in this range.

      Give it a try on an entry level model and see how you like it. I would say you probably need 6 months to a year before you move up to something like these. Nanrobot is a great quality brand that has a full range of scooters available. Start on something slow so you can get the basics down and fundamentals and then graduate up. Excellent detailed review 🤘 I am still loving my Lightnings! For me, I have a lot of City commuting so I went with the lightning and it is such a great scooter that I bought a second one. I can run errands on one and then come back in and grab the other one that's already fully charged and go mess around or I have another option for someone else to go riding with me. Overall, the lightning is one of the best investments I've made plus is the most fun way to get around town. Lightning all the way 🤘

      I'm really stuck between getting the D4 plus and the lightning, yes the D4 goes farther which is what I want. But the lightning has better suspension. I just don't know about the solid tires. Don't know how rough it feels. I wish you could get aired up tires for it. What's your opinion on the airless tires? Are they still pretty comfortable?. I like the distance on the D4, but I really like the suspension, the side lights, the brake lights and blinkers on the lightning resign letter. If you could get tires you could are up for the lightning I would get the lightning. But I haven't found any

    • @brandonclement
      @brandonclement 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@corywebb5537 solid tires are a little bit of a learning curve, mainly because you have to figure out what surfaces you can drive with speed at. Also when the tires are new they want to go straight. I would say about 400 mi you will wear the tires in by leaning. Not really a problem just something to note. I really don't even notice the solid tires that much anymore and it is really worth the trade off of not having flats. Depending on how often you ride, solid tires can probably last a year to 3 years. The electronic braking is really strong so you will most likely save on having to replace pads so often. Overall this is just a solid scooter. Suspension is really nice too

    The original design speed of the LS7+ was 75 mph, which we have technically achieved. We invited a professional team to test the demo. This speed is really too fast, it will cause safety problems. Therefore, for safety and various reasons, we have decreased the speed limit program to limit the speed to about 55 mph,and we added the steering damper.
    Please note that 55 MPH is GPS measured speed not theoretical 55 MPH. Most of the speeds marked on the market come from theoretical speeds, and the idling speed of LS7+ can reach 85 mph. At present, if it can be fully charged and the accelerator is pulled all the way on an open road without stepping on the brakes, it can reach GPS 61 mph.
    Thanks for the video , please pay attention to safety when riding,always wear a helmet and protective gear.

    Also if warranty is available, and parts are easy to get along with good customer service I'd go for the lightening. Smaller, cheaper, easy to carry and lighter. Electric Scooters are my mode of transportation and there's not always a bike lane. Using the sidewalks where I live is so hard on the Scooters if there's not good suspension and me because I have arthritis in my hands and every bump feels like a crater. Enjoy your channel.

    The fact is that you get what you pay for. The only time you can really get something of value for less money is on holiday sales or limited time price drops. I ordered my D6+ 2.0 just a week ago near Xmas & saved 400$ with free shipping. Which was literally across the country. I've had cheaper portable scooters in the past & always wished I would have saved up a little more money to get a better model. Those portable scooters are great in their own way's. But I found out that they are always too small with no space for your feet & are light weight, which is actually dangerous. Plus they are slow & have bad hill climbing power.

      I bought one in May and the battery lasted me 1 weeks top. If I were to use it on level 3 it doesn’t even last me more than 5 miles, what a shame. I can only use it in gear 2 to preserve battery level. I’m 200 pounds btw which I heard other riders being heavier and not having the same issue

    • @grazz7865
      @grazz7865 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DoNtGaMBLeOOk there’s a trick here on TH-cam called “waking up the battery” or “recycling “ the battery. It involves opening the deck, disconnecting the yellow/red wire connector for a few minutes and putting it back. Kind of like booting your cable box when it gets stuck. Yes, you are right, third gear will eat up your battery much quicker and rightfully so. If it was gas and you floor it all the time, your gas will go down much quicker. I ride in gear 3. I’m also 200 pounds......ok ok....215, and the battery drains quicker but not as quick as you’re saying. Check that TH-cam post. Let me know if it works.
