Roger Rabbit needs to come back. He's got an entire ride at Disneyland still, and he made special appearances at the park until the early 2010s. He's also the only one of those that could still really be considered a fitting character.

Barbie being in the culture area makes sense to me because she is kind of this cultural touchstone on the same level as Mickey. She represents marketing to girls and brand recognition. Also, I could see them showing off the rarer barbies at the showcase.

It featured many rare and extinct costumes, and was in WDW in 2012, since then versions of it have been happening at the parks over seas. I saw Roger Rabbit in Toon Town when I was a kid. That park was my favorite part of the trip ❤ I wondered why he disappeared. I'm sorry to hear that one of the most fun characters in Disney World history was taken away because of something so petty. Lots of kids missed out on a super fun character because of that. Spielberg owns half of Rodger Rabbit?! That's the missing connection!! Now it all makes sense Michael Eisner and Jeffrey Katzenberg had a huge falling out at Disney. Jeffrey sued Disney for wrongful termination and won a huge settlement which he then used to create DreamWorks SKG The SKG was *Spielberg* (part owner of Rodger Rabbit) Katzenberg majority partner and David Geffen. Dreamworks went though a ton of changes, even made Shrek to thumb its nose at Disney, and is now owned fully by NBC Universal Comcast, Disney's biggest competitor. So Disney in a sense would have to negotiate and pay a competitor to do anything with Rodger Rabbit. So now I see why Rodger Rabbit is "in the vault" and likely not getting out any time soon.
It really does make you dislike Eisner even more when you get down to it. He's pretty much the reason or at least a big part of the reason why Roger isn't around much anymore.
What's weirder still is that Roger did in fact keep making special appearances, usually for holiday events, at Disneyland, up until a year or so before the closure of Big Thunder Ranch. Only after that did he fully disappear.
I did get to meet Roger Rabbit in Disneyland back in 2014 for the Springtime Roundup at the (now gone) Big Thunder Ranch, though it was because he was among the other rabbit characters (and Disney characters adorned in Easter attires).

I don't remember them having a meet and greet, they had the show, and show and meet and greet casts are different. Shows were notoriously bad, like bad community theater. they brought in pros to put together the Festival of the Lion King and it really revolutionized the shows in the parks. All of these were show related, and none of the shows were remotely good. Trust me you didn't miss anything.

I was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle at Disney Hollywood Studios at this time. I played Donatello and Leonardo. Good times.

They really did bring back Roger Rabbit as rare character. Just like other rare Disney characters for selective days / nights.
I would have loved to meet Barbie as a kid (it's basically the same as meeting a princess) too bad she was phased out before I was born..
Hey, Barbie actually is a Pixar character now! It'd make perfect sense for her to show up in Toy Story Land, if they could swing the licensing with Mattel.

I don't remember them having a meet and greet, they had the show, and show and meet and greet casts are different. Shows were notoriously bad, like bad community theater. they brought in pros to put together the Festival of the Lion King and it really revolutionized the shows in the parks. All of these were show related, and none of the shows were remotely good. Trust me you didn't miss anything.

i used to be the biggest power rangers fan from the age 5 to 14, and i got to meet them!! the only time i have ever gone to disney they were there! it was a dream come true for the little 9 year old me :)

They usually just bring Roger out for Easter along with thumper and Barr rabbit and only anniversary shows.
I thought when Barbie was in MGM Studios I thought of when they're making Toy Story they were having Mattel give Disney the rights to mr. Potato Head.

Conclusion: MGM Orlando in the early 90's was awesome.
barbie was easily the weirdest on this list, being a doll and nothing else. i was ecstatic meeting the ninja turtles in the early 90s.
but what they really NEED to do is bring a muppet meet and greet back!
