- At rallies around the country, people are calling for action against anti-Asian racism. Asian Americans are demanding an end to racism. But their activism isn’t new. This is the deep history of Asian American organizing in the U.S.

This is very true, you have Asian Americans who were a part of the Civil Rights Movement! I've know this for a long time. They also helped support the Black Panthers, Anti-War protests, Migrant farm workers unionizing. Asian Americans have always been there.
No lol
Only some helped the black panthers.
Though I’m black civil rights is not just about black and white people is about Americans. When I say American I mean black white asian, Pacific Islander,Irish, Swedish and everyone who live in the country. Under God not over white or black but under God
✊✊✊✊Asian lives matter
( when I say this I don’t mean that other lives don’t matter I am saying to stop treating other lives like they have more value)
@@zoeyhughes4877 Amen. Thank you.
Wrong it's was only a few
Thank you for sharing awareness! Asians have also contributed to the progress of this country.
It was a Japanese American woman who cradled Malcolm X as he died in her arms during his assassination. Spike Lee conveniently cut out this part of the story.
Yup. That was Yuri Kochiyama. If you look at images from Malcolm's rallies and speeches, you'll see her in the foreground. She's part of the reason why the northern civil rights movement was so intersectional!
Yuri is the person seen holding Malcolm X as he laid dying. She was with him in his last moments
one person doesnt count
@@jessemiller4970 One person always counts. One person can definitely make all the difference. Keep your cynicical nihilism to yourself.
@@arcturionblade1077 and what was that difference? and when you actually fight for something in this country then you can talk until then stfu
@@jessemiller4970 yeah I bet your constantly fighting for something 24/7
@@V6AReign 24/7? your sarcasm is overt. yes i have been organizing and fighting white supremacy since 2006. and you are welcome on behalf of my ancestors for the 14th amendment, civil rights bill, 1965 immigration act. have a a great day
As an African American ,I thank you for your history in making change.
Grace Lee Boggs and Yuri Kochiyama are two of my favorite activists of all time. Their work and writing is so eloquent and impactful. Two beautiful and influential women, that paved the way for many.
I never know about this in the last few weeks. I am stunned. I have world support.
Thank you for posting this.
i am vietnamese american from orange county california , stop asian hate now
I was active in the 1960's and 1970's. The evolution from gangs to the movement was almost seamless. As the Chicano gangs evolved to become Brown Berets and the predominantly Afro American gangs to the Black Panthers. I was a member of a predominantly black gang that preceded the Bloods and Crips and exist to this day. As an Asian American I found myself gravitating to the group know as the Asian American Hardcore. The Hardcore supported the Black Panthers back in the day we were small in comparison but respect was gained as we focused on our community. Although things have changed the struggle continues!
No one has rights in America
We love asian people so loyal and kind

Yo that's my professor!
'The men always wore masks, Tursunay Ziawudun said, even though there was no pandemic then.
They wore suits, she said, not police uniforms.
Sometime after midnight, they came to the cells to select the women they wanted and took them down the corridor to a "black room", where there were no surveillance cameras.
Several nights, Ziawudun said, they took her.
"Perhaps this is the most unforgettable scar on me forever," she said.
"I don't even want these words to spill from my mouth."

Wow such a long history.
I honestly thought that they just did the work and didn’t complain. That’s just what my Chinese father taught me
Don't leave without self defense weapons or self defense knowledge !!2 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour."2 Timothy 1:7 the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

I think the term 'Asian' covers waaaay to many people. From pakistan tot china, to indonesia, thailand etc etc..sooo many very different cultures, looks, religions etc.
Also in the way treat others. Chinese for example have been known for the racism against brown and black for a looong time now. Also for their neo-colonialsim. And their concentration camps against the Muslims.
Indonesian for example have not and have much more in common with the brown and black people in the west.
But of course this comment will be removed again, because im tackling the narrative.
Solidarity is the key to resistance. Purity Testing who is/isn't part of a group is the enemy's tactic to weaken us.

- "class reductionism: it's not race, it's class"
The Left has re-learned during 2020; _only when we all stand together ("intersectionality") , can we be strong._
@La ϟϟ What, you gonna disappear into some LARPy compound in some far-off county in alaska?
@La ϟϟ Balcks have been in America long before 98% the population. Wait, wasn't it occupied before Europeans arrived?
@@valdzi1 Yup, Natives first, then a few english/spanish. Then Blacks were shipped in; hundreds and hundreds.
Settlers like, Dutch, Irish, Italians, Germans, Jews came muuuuch later.
By erasing black identities, they had no history, making them some of the first 'naturalized' Americans.
@Don Juan America is the only country that feels comfortable referring to to itself as a continent.
Other people would be saying russian, chinese, bajan, mexican, german, nigerian. Not are you 'African', 'Asian', 'European'
👏🏾👏🏾
The truth is if Asian Americans just go far enough back in their heritage/culture. They will realize like all cultures cooper colored, indigenous, Aboriginal (black) people are their parents and the original people anyways..
Model minorities.
