as someone who lives in abilene, the demolition of this location was not only sad but also unnecessary. rip red roof mcdonalds in abilene, tx. right by the mall too!
I wish they would bring back the old decor like the cheeseburger seats in some locations. Retro themed stores for any franchise would bring in tons of business.
In Albany Ga if you are ever in the area there is a remodeled mc Donald with an old play place and ronald mcdonald bench. Its on Slapy blvd. I know the play place has been closed since covid and you can't get close to the bench but you can see it threw the window on the inside
Ive always looked at chuck e. Cheese and mcdonalds the same because of the characters, and the songs, and the meet and greets and the kids play erea, and the atmosphere.
We still got one in Trenton Mi and Taylor Mi. The one in Trenton was recently remodeled in 2020 to be modern McDonald's style though. It originally was called Sports McDonald's and had a big mural in the play place of mcondald land characters in sports gear!
It reminds me of when i was young, the roof and aesthetic of the restaurant was exactly like this one. I really miss seeing statues of Ronald in front of and inside restaurants. At that time going to McDonald's was like going to a party.
I remember sitting next to that Ronald in the 90s. I also have a picture from my birthday party before the playplaces with the metal playground. The frie guys horses and the see saw with the metal slides. The woodchips too. Although I met the guy who made the recycled tire mats that replaced that too at career day once. The nostalgia
I was in highschool in the 1990s 1991-1995 when they were like this in all McDonald's locations. The room had that stinky feet smell, cause kids had to remove their shoes before they could play around . 😊
grew up in abilene this playplace used to look a little different. there was a larger play area where those seats were behind the ronald lifeguard statue (i do distinctly remember that statue being there as well, for as long as i've known it) in that area where the seats are, there was a setup for 4 demo video game consoles, playstation and gamecube. i remember playing spyro for the first time on this thing, cant remember what they had on the gamecube machines im a 2000s kid and this decor they had pretty much never changed it looks like. can't believe this just randomly got thrown in my recommended
wow that is a time served Mcdonalds because now days tmcdonalds kiosk to order from that is not a person and the Mcdonalds in Fort Worth is no person and mcdonalds kiosk ordering in comes out like a vending machine thats off of Los Vegas Trail in fort worth texas so thats a gem in a way to see a old style Mcdonalds
Whenever I see these videos, it makes me sad knowing these will probably be torn down and replaced by the boring hotel lobby McDonald’s. It actually makes me sad 😢
This video brings a huge smile to my face! I was so upset when I found out that they're going to remodel this place. It's like McDonald's is trying to make people miserable! This minimalism crap really makes my blood boil. McDonald's should've never remodeled any of their locations. They were perfectly fine just the way they were. I can't even bear to look at those gray monstrosities. I guess this gives me a good reason to start ordering from home.
Is it just me or am I just overlooking... how long has the play Era has been...? Because it looks just like the chuck e. Cheese skytubes! 😂 did chuck e. Cheese inspired mcdonalds with the skytubes?

I miss restaurants having classic PlayPlaces 🥺
Such a beautiful location. Takes me back to when I played in the PlayPlace as a kid
You don't see THIS everyday, but I ONCE saw this in Erie PA.
I wish they would bring back the old decor like the cheeseburger seats in some locations. Retro themed stores for any franchise would bring in tons of business.
Nostalgia sells
They tore it down to build a new building. RIP old school MD

That Ronald was once a bench Ronald or it is the same statue for the bench just used on the life guard chair.
Very cool mcdonalds thanks for showing Chris

The cool thing it’s near CEC
That blue thing at 2:56 , not sure if that was an n64/gamecube thing or if there was one where that touchscreen on a pole is
They just tore this one down to build a new one. So he was right the days were numbered. Lol
So sad but inevitable :(
yeah, i live in abilene so it's sad
I LIKE THE RONALD :D
Nice 😊
Bro go to the Chuck E. Cheese in abeline it’s not remodeled yet
I've been there a few times :)
@@SetsStreetsEats oh cool soon I’m going cause I live in abeline
I have no idea why they needed to demolish this place! It was super fun to go to

I’m form Abilene tx
Do you think that Ronald may have originally been on a bench and you could have sat in front of his outstretched arm?
That is possible
man I miss that old McDonald's aesthetic.
I live near Abilene
You know how it looks right now a couple days ago like on Monday they tore it down so they can rebuild it to a new McDonald's
And that's why McDonald's sucks now. They do this stuff all the time. They won't even leave the tour's attraction ones alone.

No, it was Discovery zone that started the (Sky tubes trend)
Sadly this location was just remodeled.
I hate how all the new fast food places are just plain ugly boxes.
They demolished it 😢
😭

This is kind of why people aren't eating inside McDonald's as much anymore they're just all boring looking now
Do you know why everybody is worshiping chuck e cheese in Charlotte (Pineville)?
sadly they torn it down and made it a business mcdonald
