This video is EXACTLY about what I am trying to do right now! Thank you so much!
I got my kit a week ago and I put a hoop mount with a splash cymbal on the snare drum. I'll try to attach a boom arm extension directly on the pole the bass drum is mounted on with a crash or ride on it.

Awesome! You should throw an EMAD on that bass drum, you'll be surprised how much punch and low end it can get.

Beautiful. Love your ideas. Have to say - very intrigued with your second one listed - using cymbal arm as a cross stick effect. Sounds wonderful. Thank you for sharing. Wishing you continued success!!!

    So Cris
I purchased the Compact Traveller in 2016 and used it many times for jams small venue gigs etc. When using the 10in combo snare/tom as both I found the sound high for a tom if i tuned
it so I could switch back and forth
from tom to snare. In 2020 Pearl came out with a 14 in tom as an add on. I switched the snare mechanism over to the new 14in and it gave me much more versatility. Sometimes I use the 14 in the snare mode tuned medium and the 10 in slightly higher than the 14 in for Jazz and lower for Rock. At times I bing along a Sonor Safari 14 x 5 wood snare and then use the 14 as a tom giving me two in total.
I have lightweight Yamaha Crosstown aluminum snare stand, hi hat and (2) cymbal stands which fold up to 16 in lengths and weigh 27lbs bag included. I also use two 10in splash cymbals for the hi hat and so considering the Traveller is in a bag and I put a small kick pedal in the hardware bag my all up weights are 55 lbs for both bags.
If I have one complaint it is the fact that the supplied thumb screws to lock down the toms and the mounting arm for same, require brute strength to tighten so all three don't slip during playing especially if using the 14 in as a snare and cross stickingI replaced those (3) with ordinary short metric hex head bolts which I tighten using an 11mm box wrench.

Hi, Chris thank you for your help. I have a question. Would any cheap cymbal work as the High-Hat substitute? Or do you recommend any specific cymbal for the Pearl Traveler Compact drum set?

The bass drum is totally worth it. Sounds good and couldnt get any more compact. Good for gigs and for studying at home. And has a good response with mics
