This is my understanding of the meaning behind the video: two celebrities that are in a relationship that is broking a part, but because they are famous, they still have to put and act in front of the public. At the end she can't going pretending and he still keeps the mask on. The worst part is that the people are entertained either way, that is why what is hurting her the most are the roses that the audience is throwing at her. 😢

this is why I love this song a looot it's sooo honest and you can feel her emotions in the song I love her songs a looot but this song hit me harder then any other ones I understood the same thing about the mv and the song and it made me think of it in my own perspective like we can be in the same situation if you put the public as society and yourself as the celebrity . some people can't be more wise to think of others then just starting to throw hate on people it happens on real life and on the internet which is a sad truth. I hope we will have a day where people are nice to each other more then hating for the silliest reasons
When you're a celebrity, even your personal trauma becomes public entertainment.

I think the MV is very interesting. Don’t forget that Taeyeon was one of the first idols to have a public relationship with another idol. Remember how much hate they got! Rumour has it that SM made them break up because it was so damaging to both of them. Girls Generation fans and EXO fans were crazy. Even now they have to see each other at the company and award shows etc. I think the MV concept is a bit of a nod towards that. Very clever. Also… on a separate note it’s nice to see her going back to this style of music. It reminds me of her first solo stuff which was obviously INSANELY successful.

From their relationship, Taeyeon got the worse of it. She even had to apologize to someone in the airport, constantly targeted for online bullying by her "bf's" fans, etc. To this day everything she does on her instagram will taken as if she was signaling something about the boy when all she did was just post random things. Meanwhile, no Sone would even bother on peeking baekhyun's social media, let alone send malicious comments at him.
this song captured some part of it. Notice that the roses the audience threw only hurt Taeyeon not the boy.
Um, nope. Sones were actually supportive of the couple; it's Exo Ls who went overboard and started attacking Taeyeon after news of their relationship was made public. As a matter of fact, they STILL do to this very day.
i wouldn't say snsd fans were crazy, at all, since she is a 2nd gen idol, at that point in her career sones were also at a point where we understood and knew that being a fan is nothing but admiring the 'artist' and the art/music and allowing the 'person' to live her life, whereas exo hadn't been that long and their 'fans' were (at least the ones that ever brought up their relationship) toxic, possesive, and tbh even now there are still many toxic exols, just another example of the difference of 2nd gen fans and 3rd gen fans (not all ofc)

I find it kind of funny Sera saying the song is "cute". Anyway, at least Taeyeon is trying something new. And, maybe it reflects better the current mood of the times we're living in. The chord progression is very typically personal melancholic western (wonder if the main composer was a brit or a yank?) so not sure it fits the typical Korean cadence--though they allowed at least one full English phrase.
