Great video, I like how the tank looks, without the pads, I have the scl500 in the orange color, and to be honest it took some time to accept the shape of the tank, but after painting the rear fender and side covers the same color as the tank things got better, on the other hand the beauty of scl500 is that it gives the opportunity to customize it and finish it the way you like it Cheers!
@eastcoastish you would either have to bring the tank to the paint store or shop or find out the particular color code, but for sure, there is a way to match it in my case I brought the tank and they made up the color from scratch
Awesome. Looks fantastic. I do wish you had shown more details about fitting the seat cover and stapling it. Did you use the cord to tighten it, then staple it, then cut off the cord and excess material with a very sharp blade?
No, i never used the cord to tighten it, i pulled and stapled the various parts until everything was even and taught. I did use a very sharp blade to just cut off the housing of the cord once everything was aligned and stapled though - i wouldn't recommend cutting it until it's all in place because the extra material gives you something to grab and pull as you're getting everything aligned.
@@eastcoastish Thanks. I found a couple videos and think I have the technique down. It looks like they are stretching it into place with both hands opposite from each other, then letting go with one hand while keeping the cover pinched with the other so it does not move. The only problem is the website that sells. I've tried two credit cards and get a communication error. Then tried a debit card and they won't take it. No answer back yet from contacting them. Maybe they are closed over the weekend. Oh well.
@@eastcoastish Quick question. It looks like you and everyone else doing bike seat cover videos start at the front and work your way to the back. Do you see a problem going from back to front? The reason being, I can't shake this feeling that I will get to the back and the seam won't look good and even, like yours does. It's really dependent on how you stretch the material as to where that seam falls by the time you get to it. There is no seam on the front half, plus there appears to be more material to work with. I was thinking of going back to front because of this. Thoughts?
@@pacanis there is a seam on the front that you need to make sure is even too but I don see a reason you couldn’t go either way. Regardless don’t start with too many staples because you’ll likely need to pull a few out to adjust.
@@eastcoastish Thanks! I think it's great of you to take the time to answer questions. So many youtubers post a video and go on to the next one. Awesome channel! I inserted a gel pad in my seat. Now I'm just waiting for the scrim foam to finish it up.
This seat is so classy ! I absolutely love it !
thanks man!

I've been thinking about painting the fenders - this color is this matte finish though so i think it'd be hard to color-match perfectly...
