    Mulcher is only 2.5% and roller is only 2.5% so my advice is to skip them and just get a seed drill so all you need to do after harvest is fert then seed drill then put a weeder over it then fert again and you will have 95% and it will take half the time

      @@ArthurDayne_SOTM you do if you need to. Check the map page and the field, select “requires lime” only and see if the field needs it. Apply lime as one of the first steps.

    Interesting, this one really surprised me. I've been mulching before I seeded with the Pottinger direct drill for my sorgum fields, not realizing this. Good find!

      Farmers don't mulch and direct drill because this type of seeder cannot properly break down crop residues into the soil. You cultivate it properly. A direct drill is not a cultivator!

    It's not a bad idea at all. Personally, I just like to fertilize right after harvest (lime first if needed), Mulch, and then direct drill with fertilizer. After that, I roll everything in, then use the weeder to get them the best I can before any weeds sprout. After that, you could spot spray the weeds the next day/month just to make sure if you want to. That way, your feeld is set to go without narrow tiers!

    Real answer, Always! Because in all my testing it hasn't even given a 5% yield bonus..... Maybe 3.5% at best, just not worth the time in my opinion. Same with rolling....

      I've got another more in depth video releasing on Wednesday showing the exact percentage the mulcher giver when used in the correct process.

      Check out the FS Academy. It shows that rolling and mulching give 2.5% yield bonus, not 5%. In another video, taking ALL costs into consideration, mulching and rolling don't give additional profit, they simply pay for themselves. So, if you want to be realistic and do it all, you make the same money. If you don't want to do it, you will make the same money. Its more than just yield, its maintenance costs, equipment investments, time, work costs, etc - its really all about NET PROFIT.

    • @Driver53Gaming
      @Driver53Gaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dansiegel995 I've been studying the Academy I formation. I get that there are other costs associated with the processes of maxing out yield, but we aren't looking at that right now. The goal of my testing is to determine how to get the max yield. Everyone's net profits will be different because if the variables in the equipment. 6 meter vs 13 meter header, 3 meter cultivator vs 12 meter cultivator. Might do a net profit test, but not sure. Will need to find comparable width equipment for all crops.

      @@Driver53Gaming Well, a critical resource is indeed. You will need to factor that in too, which would result in accounting for different width implements and their working speed. It would prove that bigger vehicles and implements are indeed worth it, IF you have the land to use them.

      @@dansiegel995 A good ballpark figure on which tool is more efficient is to consider how many hectares it can process per hour. Which is easy enough to calculate, (speed in km/h * width in m) / 10 = hectares per hour.
      The bigger question is how many passes will it take, because the amount of time spent turning around (especially if you use AI workers) does add up. So a long, narrow field is better than a square field.
      Suppose the following: You have 2 fields, Field 1 measures 1km x 10m, Field 2 measures 100m x 100m. Both fields are 1ha. You have a tool that is 10m wide and operates at 10km/h. And it takes the AI 30 seconds to turn around and align between passes (also it always aligns perfectly on the first try and has no overlap).
      To process Field 1 takes an AI worker 6 minutes, as it can complete the entire field in a single pass. To process Field 2, it will take the AI 10 minutes and 30 seconds, of which it spends 4 minutes and 30 seconds turning around between the 10 passes it needs to complete the field.
      Granted this is an extreme example, but it does become a factor once you start looking at money made per hour played. There are tasks the AI simply cannot do at all, so it makes sense to have the AI do some fieldwork while you do the things the AI can't do. As most of us only have a limited amount of time to play.

    So the direct drill planter, do you still get a bonus for plowing or cultivating before? Or just harvest, plant, fertilize, let it grow, fertilize again. Also would it benefit from being rolled?

    • @Driver53Gaming

    Try rolling after direct drilling with mulching.

    • @Driver53Gaming
      @Driver53Gaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Rolling after drilling will give the same bonus as rolling after regular planting. It is a seperate bonus by itself. What's happening when you mulch before drilling is that the fertilizer application that takes place during the drilling isn't being applied evenly. This causes the reduction if no more fertilizer is applied. To catch up in the areas that are missed you will need to apply two more passes of fertilizer. It's an additional cost for time and maintenance that can be avoided if you don't run the mulcher at all.
