I couldnt agree more. A $6 pumice stone and a warm bucket of water literally does the same thing every fortnight. Moisturise well every 2nd day and you're good to go
Not always. I for instance pay for spas and pedicure places etc. Because I don't want to do it myself. And I can assure you many other people would rather pay someone else to do it. Not just us wealthy people. Edit: I do tend to shop around though. Find the best quality for the best price. It isn't smart to waste money.
You can easily do this at home, with an electric foot file and a foot peeling twice per year. And keep them soft with some good body butter or a special cream. That's about €50 for a year!
This lady is literally talking down on people who do pedicures because she’s seen a few who don’t practice how they should. You DISINFECT between customers and we don’t massage in any direction.
Felt this too not all salons or techs are bad. We throw everything away or sterilize and disinfect anything that isn’t porous. Everything is cleaned after every person. The same massaging moves she did I do as a licensed nail technician.
About 4 years ago I got a pedicure and ended up with a HORRIBLE infection in/on two toes of my left foot. My bacterial culture grew things that you find in grass/soil, cow manure and also staph. My foot wouldn't heal and I was on crutches for a few months. At one time the wound care Dr told me I need to brace myself for possible amputation. Needless to say I have been too scared to get my feet done again. I do the best I can at home.
Why she gotta hate on nail technician NOT ALL OF US ARE CHEAP We do get trained on how to do massage, we do clean our tools Not all of us nasty people 🤨😒
Keep a pumice stone in your shower and just use it in circular motions with every shower or once every couple of showers with some exfoliant cleanser or a foot therapy product and you shouldn't have calloused heels or feet. If you do a regular lymphatic drainage technique in the shower starting from the foot to the top of the legs it will help with circulation and lymphatic drainage, you don't need a specialist although its nice to pamper yourself, but these are easy things to do at home, simple lifestyle changes that give these exact results
If you use the pumice stone every day very quickly and lightly and always use lotion you won't build up callouses. I do it every day, just a surface scrub. Works for me.
I think it also depends on the coarseness of the pumice stone. For everyday use maybe opt for a more smooth surfaced stone as opposed to a more porous stone, and actually you really don't have to use it everyday, I think twice a week is sufficient to give you soft feet. It's always good to follow up with a thick balmy moisturizer and a pair of soft plushy socks (try getting a pair with a slip proof bottom to be careful not to slip around while walking) it sounds like a lot of work but it's just an extra foot scrub in the shower here and there, some moisturizer (welida skin food is great for literally everything including this) and a pair of slip proof socks, this whole thing will cost you like 30 or 40 bucks depending on prices where you live, although there is no replacement for having someone pamper your feet lol
$325? Oh hell no. You can buy AMAZING Korean foot peel masks for about $10. It takes about 5-7 days until the dead skin starts to fall off, but it works wonders. I gave my mom one last year to try. She has always suffered from thick calluses on her heels. She tried the pedi-egg, pumice stones, callus shavers, and NOTHING had ever worked for her this well. $325 every month is for filthy rich or foolish people.
I have been doing mani and pedi for 17 plus years. EVERYTHING she's doing as a professional Pedicurist can do for less money. They also teach you this in school( EVERYONE DOSEN'T go to school, this is training) how to properly massage feet and legs. I do and I have receive the best TIPS from pedicure clients.
Celestial Zephyr i don't think it is, but even if it is unsanitary, at least it doesn't cost +300$ and what would make pedicure "unsanitary?" i'd like to know
2:40-2:50: Since the pandemic, I have been working remote and I have not had a pedicure since the pandemic in 2020. Previously, my toe nails were dark in color and thick. Not all toe nails, just some. A few months ago, it dawned on me that my toe nails are clean looking. Overall, my toes look better. No salon visits and less time wearing shoes.
Or just clean the feet yourself and save all together , how hard is it really to have clean healthy feet ? only a mug would pay for such. Although having said that , i do pay 200$ a week to get my asshole jetwashed, so swings and roundabouts i guess.
I love my pedicures, they use sterile instruments, line the tub, etc. and I get the same results for a fraction of that ridiculous price! You really do need aristocratic blood to be this extra!
I get callus on the bottom of both of my toes and what I use to COMPLETEY remove them is a nail clipper. First I feel it out to see where the callus begins/how thick it is and where my actual skin is. Once I do that I get the nail clipper and with a light press I start cutting into the callus from where the skin meets it. Being very careful not to push too hard as to not clip my skin I remove section by section, sometimes layer by layer as well if it’s thicker than usual. When all is said and done I have a little pile of dead skin that was the callus and I regain full mobility and sensation on my toes where the callus was.
KrystalKstar I guess people that really care about this stuff might pay for it and just mark it as the cost of a tv, phone, car, other expensive purchase. That wouldn’t be me, but if I had to guess they’d be my guess. Also people on their feet all day for say a job might consider foot care part of maintaining themselves for work.
She was spot on about how A LOT of the nail salons don't sanitize and improperly massage. You can do so much more damage then good if you massage incorrectly and don't use professional techniques. I'm glad she mentioned that because it's so under looked. But people seriously have issues with this and get bacteria and fungal infections and live with the consequences while the people who did the damage aren't held accountable. Always look to see if they have their license hanging up or even ask.
I too have difficulties with my feet due to my super-high arches ...I feel so understood! And I am grateful that my aversion to jogging running is now validated and backed up by science, haha!
I've heard the same thing from three oldsters who are 90+: 'Whatever you do, never stop moving [walking] and take care of your legs; they're your life's car.'
You can do all this at home. Just make sure you soak your feet and remove the callous with a pumice stone, afterward put on the food cream. Just invest on a very good foot cream. Remember to moisturized your feet daily right after shower. If you walk or stand a lot in a day, remember to treat your feet with a foot bath. Then remove the callous. Moisture afterwards. Foot care is like hand care. You need to put on hand cream everyday. Same as your foot.
For those of us who aren't rich or "aristocratic": Go to a regular podiatrist for any health concerns (your insurance might cover this!) and use some foot cream with at least 10% urea every night to get rid of callouses. It's not as quick as removing them with a blade or a pumice stone etc. but there is less risk of it growing back thicker.
It's really great to pamper yourself. The good doc was right about some nail salons not being sterile. However, there are some nail spots that do take care with using clean instruments. I wouldn't spend over $300 on foot care. I would make up my own foot care routine and find a really good reflexologist since it was said the nail salon staff don't give a proper foot massage. A reflexologist is 10x cheaper than an actual doctor. Srsly, do you really need a foot ultra sound every time you go see this woman? What information is going to change month to month?
Put a capful or two of ACV into warm water and let your feet soak for 15 min. Then use a pedí glass stone or pumice stone. Rinse. Lotion. Does the trick for me in between pedicures.
Tuh… I’m a non-practicing master cosmetologist so I know how to care for my feet. I don’t visit the salons because there are quite a few that don’t meet State Board cleanliness standards. However, that’s not true for all of them. I do my own pedis at home and massage with a tennis or golf ball. For daily care, I use a pumice stone and/or lactic acid 10%. I moisturize and my feet stay soft and never crusty. I also use a nail brush to clean under my nails.

$325 is a bit steep but since you get an ultrasound and podiatrist's analysis I'd do it
I definitely need to visit this Dr
I have high arches too and I am extremely callus prone it sucks and I get feet’s cramps alllll the time but while they hurt like hell I love they way they feel in my feel I hate them anywhere else
I can do this for myself with some epsom salt, a callous shaver, a foot file and some urea cream 😛
I agree with the Doctor. I wish I could find a good foot dr. Near
My mom has bad feet and I used to get ingrown toenails. I do this at home plus change my sneakers out every couple of months. I'm super particular about my feet.
i never thought about using a micrderm on my feet-great idea, and using a serum, excellent!ll all of this can be done at home. dr 8 pen, serums-250 max, and willbe able to do whenever u want. also that shaver-the callus comes right back. thatis a tem fix. have had feet shaved many times. comes right back. you have to work and work, and then gradually it wont come back. but then still you have to keep it up. i am excited to try microdermabrasion machine on my feet tho,
I need this. My foot is crusty and super difficult to smoothen.
I want and need this SO BAD
My feet look worse than her before so I guess I need something like this LOL! Can I get a foot facial without the ultrasound?
Am I the only one that thinks the therapist looks exactly like Magda from Jane the Virgin? 😂
Dammit! I cant unsee this now 😩😂😂
Niecey Scott so I’m not the only one!
I love it and I definitely need a food facial and that I too is an aesthetician and we did something similar like this on the face but except we did not use a equipment like that on the face. And that I really wanna know where I can purchase this equipment and that after seeing this video I know it will help my feet a lot.
about the dryness... go buy nivea creme and see the difference in one week
I’m going to this lady ASAP!!
Oh god, I am a foot care nurse and I do that for 80$. Podiatrist are really expensive and we still doing the same job.
I must have Aristocrat blood too! I have extremely high arches and hate most shoes..
You can get you a natural, gentle foot peel mask at Walmart for $2.97 plus tax.
