Mark, that is genius! Thanks so much for doing this. Bjorg was not joking when he said the new tin city generation method was better! One suggestion if you do another comparison like this: do a few "freeze frames" and then sweep the before/after cut from left to right a few times. This would enable direct comparison on the whole frame.

Thanks for the video. Tbh I couldn't tell the difference a lot of the time
To tell the difference, it's necessary to pause the video and the enlarge it (just by spreading fingers if watching on a touchscreen). The before side will then show the buildings melted just like always. After WU XVII, it's difficult to find any of the horrid melting. I did see a rare building that was tilted like the Leaning Tower, but that was pretty rare. I think that this WU is a quantum jump in realism at low altitudes. This update shows how wrong the legions of users were who kept insisting that the original horrid photogrammetry was caused by server overload. There wasn't a kernel of truth in that, and this update proves it

Individual buildings seems to be smaller. Any reason for that?

I’ve been flying around London, and western Ireland, and it looks amazing.
I was stunning for me earlier. London was amazing. Not 1 hitch with the city, it was perfect. Was getting 320mgbts at one point.

The buildings look better for sure, but the boats and bridges look so much worse! Every boat looks like it's marooned on a mini-mudbank, and it's the same for jetties. HMS Belfast looks ridiculous , having been replaced with two motor yachts, but you can see a flat Belfast underneath. The Thames doesn't flow under the bridges either. Swings and roundabouts, I guess! :-)
In my opinion most of the UK looks far superior to previous. I'm blown away by the new details and scenery. I play on Xbox series x and I've noticed a massive difference. The SIM gets better and better!

You sure do make some great videos. Very detailed and all my questions get answered.
Downloading now. I am on 100mbs in Australia and photogrammetry is hit and miss. Sometimes good, most times molten mess, especially trees. Makes me nervous about the more cloud based plans for MSFS 2024. I hope they upgrade their servers in Asia and Oceania.
I'm going to fly London to Brighton later and see how they've improved both of them. Quite a lot, judging by that.

It’s the same. Unfortunately I think there’s a general caching problem that does fix existing issues.
I laughed so hard when I saw someone posted that London looks like an apocalypse. Once you see it you cant unsee it.

Water masks on the Thames look pretty poor in this update. Seems a bit of a regression to me. 😔
In Pool A, Great Britain beat Spain 4-0 - Nicholas Park, Rupert Shipperley and two goals from Gareth Furlong doing the job.
So I'm a Londoner and I can quite happily say that London looks as bad as the sim 😂
Is HMS Belfast showing in the update?
Im guessing if you have the old Orbx London pack installed that needs to be removed for this update?

You mean the Orbx London Landmarks. I removed it yes. However I'll probably add it back and keep it if it looks ok. The buildings near the Themes are much better in this release (than previous WU) but I think Orbx models are even better and of course they come with PBR materials so you get that glint off the sun at dawn and dusk which looks super cool. Overall London is looking pretty amazing.
Add the Orbx London Landmarks pack back as it is considerably better!
I did an upgrade this morning and it said WU III United Kingdom and Ireland. Didn't see WU XVII. Strange. No change in scenery.

Had to uninstall this world update. It keeps crashing the sim. I haven’t been able to find out which add on it doesn’t like! I have so many add on airports. Anyone have similar issues? Locate the mod it doesn’t like? Loads fine on safe mode

Is there a drop in performance if you install all the world updates. Iv managed to tweak the ultra settings to get stable 60fps on supersonic planes everywhere. I dont want to ruin that and reintroduce stuttering.
@@Sievert-xu5bj there is increased data to load. Drop in performance is system dependent
@SimHangerFS My internet speed is suposed to be 200mb/sec but is actually around 140ish,so it shouldn't be a problem. Is there really such a big difference in overall looks? I mainly fly military jets like the f35 over remote locations. After playing with the ultra settings aloot I managed to get 60-65 smooth FPS if flying low over NYC at mach 1. Stuttery FPS dont allow for precise maneuvers at such soeeds.

If I may ask....why are people or why did people stop putting their hardware in the description. One by one I seen channels adding this info and it was nice for times where you wonder what the maker of video is running but now one by one they are removing this info.

I'm not sure, but expect so due to the elevation changes

Has no impact on fps in external mode.

Still utter garbage in London, for me. Take off from the London helipad near Battersea and all the buildings look exactly the same. Pixelated distorted apocalypse nonsense. Very very disappointed.
Try deleting the rolling cache from settings->data. May not fix the issue but more than likely will.

@@doifeellucky Weird how we all get different experiences. London was insanely epic for me tonight, drawing 400mbts of data. Night and day vs old London.
What network speed you running. Internet and dodgy connection to severs is too blame here, or asobo servers. Have faith, its been so darn good tonight for me.
@@andyakarudolfhessiansack7936 Thanks the feedback. I’m on 400 up and down, but less than that via my mesh. It is definitely better, there are many of the additional buildings around Vauxhall, some that look fantastic, but then Battersea power station still looks like a building site, from about five years ago with very rough textures. Having just flown further out houses definitely seem to be 3d much further out than before. It’s just not consistent at all. I’ve tried many ‘fixes’ in the past, short or a re-install.
