    What makes this video so exceptionally well done is the views from the perspective of those on board such as looking at the salon and cabin as if you are standing or sitting there in nice slow pans. You get a great view out of the windows - the view you are most interested in while enjoying your yacht. Most of these boat videos insist on pointing the camera directly and close up at the individual feature such that you never actually get the feel of what its like to be in the salon, the cockpit, fly bridge, etc.. Thanks for such a well-done video!

      Thanks Michael. It's not always as easy with new boats when the spec and timing can change the price. When it comes to brokerage boats, or even used car videos for that matter, I hate when the price is hidden. Even if we aren't buyers, we are detailed dreamers 🤷‍♂️😁

    Wow! I'm partial to DeFever boats anyway, but I doubt you'll find a better example. I'm hoping to get a liveaboard in the near(er) future, and if I was ready to buy now I'd be on my way to look at this one. Ideally I'd like something 47 - 50 feet, but I'd sure be willing to make an exception for this beauty. Plenty of room for just me, or even two people.
    That massive cockpit is a huge plus, and I especially like that model DeFever because it actually has the two large windows in the owner's cabin. Lots of natural light, and you wouldn't feel so _closed-in._
    Also, the engine room is always a good indicator of how serious an owner is about maintenance / upkeep, and you won't find one any cleaner on a slightly older boat.
    Someone is going to be a very happy new DeFever owner. If she looks half as good in person as she done on this video, this one won't be on the market for long, that's for sure.
    Thanks for the video.

      Thanks for watching and for the detailed response. I agree with everything you said. The aft cabin has a ton of hatches for light and ventilation. Those 2 larger ones could probably work as escape hatches if you ever needed to use them as such.
      The engine room took me by complete surprise! This is a trawler over 20 years old, you expect it to be cramped, dark, dirty, with all sorts of smells. None of this applies for this one.
      I'd be proud to call this one my own if I had the time and money. I'm sure they will get attention on this one 😉

    It is a really nice 25 year old 44"
    I think the grate lakes is where that boat would shine . It has enough range , It is a stay aboard , and cruse all summer .
    Cheers buddy :) You pitched that boat really well. Thinking $260000.00 44" ter double diesels bow thrust er nice , but 25 insides years old . Not a bad deal for someone in the market .

    I’ve been looking at Defever 44’s. This one is about 100,000 over the average price of this model and year. With the stabilizers and good shape it might be worth 200,000. One would need to check the fuel tanks for leaks that happen at the age of this one. I like the aft deck entertainment space and the sea chest that eliminates the need for sea cocks. The big problem with the aft deck is the problems with docking from so high up.

    • @GarnockReviews
      @GarnockReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching and taking the time out to comment. I haven't checked out the price of other DeFevers or similar trawlers, but I can tell you this one has had a lot of time, money, and effort invested in it. I wouldn't expect for this one to be on the low end of the scale, and at face value she needs nothing immediately repaired or replaced.
      I'd always recommend a good inspection including mechanical inspection regardless of the boat. Hopefully that catches the gremlins early on.
      As to docking, I liked the fact there are as many boarding access points onboard, as well as a large extended bathing platform. It should make it easier compared to some other boats I've been on before

      @Garnock Reviews you know you checked out prices of comparable boats before listing the price of this boat. Of course you did, and it's part of your job, so to see say you didn't check other prices is surprising.

    • @tammyvincent9417
      @tammyvincent9417 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Garnock Reviews I gotcha, I thought you were the listing broker. I'm in real estate, not boats, I knew that you would be pricing other boats if you listed it, but I understand the situation now. As much as I love real estate and the homes we've renovated, I want to sell everything and buy a small yaht. Your videos are very informative, by the way, and I love watching them as I dream of going away on a boat. I will agree with the other viewer that this one seems quite a bit more expensive than others of a similar model. Are there Upgrades or other reasoning for the price difference?

    I'm new to boats, but interested in learning more - for this boat, assuming a cash purchase, at the asking price, what'd be a realistic estimate for any recommended upgrades\additions, and for annual maintenance? Thanks !

    • @GarnockReviews
      @GarnockReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Joe, a lot depends where you are going to be based. Some areas are far more expensive than others. If you kept it here in Jacksonville, Florida, I would think marina fees, insurance, anti foul, anodes, engine service, and basic tlc would set you back around $10k per year. A trawler like this is more economical to run so fuel costs will be much lower than a similar size sports boat.

    • @GarnockReviews
      @GarnockReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Laura, yeah I was told she was too tall for the loop. I really wish there was some way to get rid of the height restriction but I don't see that happening any time soon. It's roughly 19ft tall is the limit.

  • @daryn2826
    @daryn2826 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can I ask why this isn’t a Great Loop Cruiser? I’ve seen a TH-cam channel take Nordhavn 43 through the loop.
    I’m not a boater but lookin for one for the great loop but also Northeast coast into Nova Scotia and also Pacific Northwest with Vancouver Island South East Alaska.

    • @GarnockReviews
      @GarnockReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Daryn, this one was too tall with nothing that easily folds down. You have to be under 19ft tall to do the loop as there is a bridge near Chicago that doesn't open with around 19ft clearance.

    • @hurtback3467
      @hurtback3467 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds shady to me as the hour meters on helm are close to each other in hours so why would they both go bad at same time? Also if they did quit functioning they are stuck at the hours they last logged. I’ve never seen a meter advance hour, ever…. I think someone is not being truthful regarding the hours on the engines
