    There seems to be some pretty bad audio sync issues with the song @vinand Sori
    I believe you place the track on top of your microphone recording, the two audio tracks are not lined up proper.

      TheBlackiwid Maybe you should dig further into their music before Judging off one song, which im sure you are doing

    • @BliboranBass
      @BliboranBass 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @TheBlackiwid you should check out their song simple boy. that's probably the closest song to tool that they have, with that fuzzy up front bass and those grooves. but they do have a lot of similarities to tool otherwise, i think of them as tool-lite (not a bad thing).

    • @dfbovey
      @dfbovey 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s often said because of their prog approach... not that they are a knockoff of Tool. Listen to the song Goliath.

    • @dangr123
      @dangr123 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TheBlackiwid a lot of their songs have some very prominent bass work. It's a totally fair comparison. Not quite as good as or as dynamic as tool, but still very good.

      You are entitled to your opinion about the music, but I think all of the artists you're talking about deserve more respect than you're giving them.
      Plus, more interesting than telling people that they're wrong is finding out why you disagree. What makes the singer boring for you? Is it just that he only does clean vox?

    I think you both hit the nail on the head when talking about how people don’t do the research not only into their own belief system but when trying to have a discussion with others outside of that belief system. Vin, you sir are a sponge for knowledge. Some people can absorb information and some of us have problems remembering yesterday. Interesting song. Kind of poppy sounding.

    "If you're an introvert like me you just want to determine when and where you get to be with people." I swear, Vin, you understand me on a, ahem, spiritual level. This, of course, was followed by the biggest sigh and eye roll at Sori for docking the song for the video. -_- Damnit, Sori.
    ANYWAY...As soon as I saw this was the song you were doing tonight I said to myself, "Yup. They're gonna love this one." Was not disappointed. I slept on these guys for so long. I really only got into them myself last year and promptly devoured everything I could find by them. I have yet to find a song I don't like, though if I were forced to pick a favorite album it'd have to be Sound Awake, the album this track is on. I'm so happy you mentioned theistic evolution. I've found very few people who are aware that that's a thing, much less what it is. I'll never forget the time that a very close friend of mine and I were talking about evolution and someone who happened to overhear our conversation says to my friend, "Well you're obviously not a real Christian if you believe in evolution!" I kicked back and readied the mental popcorn to watch as he utterly schooled that dude. It was a beautiful thing to witness. I've always found it hard to wrap my brain around how so many people don't, or won't, understand that many of the scientific laws and theories that we have come directly from scientists who had a deep faith in God and used science as a way to better understand Him.
    As always, much love and I'm glad you loved the track!
    -Jason

Not sure if you're familiar with the dear hunter, but it's casey's project after treos broke up. You should check out the album "the color spectrum". you touched upon an interesting yet unrealistic theory; what would've happened if atheism preceded theism. as hypothetical as this scenario is, imo, theism would've likely never been born, or would've never been as influential as it is. here's why: the rise of atheism is attributed to 2 factors, the scientific discoveries that debunked mythology-driven theories, and the mankind's historical experience with religions and their oppressive rule. mythology, which obviously predates all religions by 1000s of years, came to be when the early humans couldn't explain the occurrences of certain natural phenomena, such as lightning, rain, floods, thunder, tides etc. to fill the void, certain individuals, nowadays known as shamans, took it upon themselves and invented the concept of the supernatural. to humanize the higher power, they created various gods and rituals to keep the gods happy, and gained enough respect and influence within their tribes that they were considered supernatural themselves. well, had the mankind had the scientific knowledge that explains the unknown then, there would've been no need for such concept, the foundation of faith would've likely never cemented its position within the society the way it did, and consequently, the history of religious persecutions and wars would've likely never taken place. now speaking of scientific discoveries, the next time there's a lunar eclipse, tell Sori to watch it. why? to watch the shape of the shadow projected unto the Moon. why again? because it's round. and why is it round? because it reflects the spherical shape of the Earth. also, if the planet was flat, there wouldn't be time zones. also explains why the shadow clocks show different times at different places on Earth. if it still ain't enough, then ask her where the edge of the flat Earth is, and how come nothing, esp planes, ships etc, ever falls off..

    • @duke_hugo
      @duke_hugo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry about reacting to a 2 year old post but this topic is about as timeless as they get. I see religion as one of the early scientific hypotheses for what created the world. In a world where the scientific method is in its infancy mankind were still trying to explain things. So at some point people were wondering who made the world and without anything to reference they invented what became religions, these stories about powerful creatures making the world.

    Yessssss finally! One of my favourite bands. I hope you do more by them! Deadman is a must, also Aeons or We Are! You'll be glad to know a lot of their songs are over 5-6 minutes. Deadman which I mentioned is 12!

    You guys 100% have to check out Leprous. Idk what song by them since there are so many good ones... Contaminate Me is a good one, but I'd also love to see people talking more about their older stuff, so He Will Kill Again is also a recommendation of mine

    So he says "lucid ophthalmology" as in "the study of vision"... I can hear it now when I hear the song. That's interesting.

    Interesting when Vin says "nobody wants to be alone" in reference to the lyrics "are you with me?" Reminds me of an old Jewish idea, which basically says... What does a being who is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent lack? Limitation.
    Incentive to create limited beings in a limited universe??

    It's a sick track, I noticed you guys liked holy war by Thy Art Is Murder. CHECK THIS ONE OUT, YOU WON'T REGRET IT, I hope.

      Cnith all the songs you mentioned are off the first album with is more new metal, this song is off the second album which is more prog rock imo it's the best album they've done out of the 3, first album is still bloody great

    Vin, you don't have to be working in a field of science to understand scientific concepts.If I say X continent exists, I don't have to prove it. What you're saying would be the equivalent of every person living in complete ignorance, trying to figure out the basics of nature simply because they 'must do the research themselves'. Certain concepts are so well understood and documented that you don't have to figure them out all over again.

    Only just discovered you guys, binging your videos since. Really like how you're bringing a different perspective and an open mind to these songs.
    Would love to hear you react to something by Leprous or Agent Fresco, I think you might like them. Some great songs to check imo are 'The Price', 'Stuck' and 'Illuminate' by Leprous, and 'Pyre' and 'See Hell' by Agent Fresco.

    G'day from Perth (hometown of these Karnivool lads)
    Vin - if you want more, give New Day a listen...8min song
    This whole Sound Awake album was a masterpiece
    For something a little more punchy though go with Set Fire To The Hive - the lyrics a little more in your face too
    Ian Kenny (vocalist) also sings in a 'softer' band known as Birds Of Tokyo - his voice on both fronts sound amazing though

    I love Karnivool. They've become more and more prog through the years. If you want to check their heavier stuff, listen to Roquefort. If you're into some epic, listen to Change (Pt. II).
    And yet another suggestion of Lamb of God - Walk With Me In Hell

    Both sound awake and asymmetry are concept albums (actually asymmetry is starting where sound awake ends) so to fully understand the song you have to listen to the whole thing. Much love from Greece
