Spend a day with us as we go through a typical day 'at work' on our narrowboat. And hopefully explain what we do to make money from our narrowboat.

A few random observations: A great vlog on how you support yourselves living on a narrowboat. Life is more than economics, so I suspect you two never estimate how much you earn per hour in such a labour-intensive business; such comparisons make no sense when you measure personal satisfaction and a healthy, relatively stress-free lifestyle. Your stresses are of a different magnitude and can’t be part of any purely economic spreadsheet. All this shows up, over time, as you share your life with us. I notice when you switch to speeded up mode, the cat remained relatively motionless! Wise kitty. I love the hailstorm shot through the cat flap. I also love the artistic way you show us a variety of shots of the buildings and things that interest you on your travels. I particularly liked the avenue of trees near the end. Above all, I think we all recognize a loving relationship with all its complex challenges, and your vlogs reflect this. Stay well you two.

You have thousands and thousands of followers but its not because of any one of you and that includes both cats. Its not going through locks, we've done hundreds by now going up and going down in all weathers its not just the scenery ,glorious rural vistas or grubby graffiti stained urban industrial sprawl. Its you Kath and Anne Marie, your indomitable character ,you tackle some crazy projects and always succeed in the end and with a smile .Its your care and respect for others love of nature and things beautiful and historic. and each other, that comes through loud and clear constantly. You and I have never met yet I count you as friends I see every week .Thank you so much for just being my friends Kath and Anne Marie.

I suggest you have a rubber stamp made of one of your cat's paw print. Stamp this on the back of your finished product. This could be an option, charging people an extra $1 if they want their purchase "authenticated" by Alice?
It seems to me if the government would put some money into the canal system it would create a lot of jobs. Dealing with the quagmire of muddy tow path would be one improvement. Send a painting and a stern note to that clown in No.10.
More video of old houses please. Even the texture of an Edwardian brick wall is a delight to an X pat. Great Job!

What a great blog! A really great glimpse of what it’s like to be a trade boat and run an art business from the boat as well as a weekly blog. Do you ever have difficulties keeping all the paper products and art media pristine with the humidity and in the summer with the heat, since the boat has no air conditioning? I have been following The Narrowboat Experience for about a year now. I love the through the hedge, and informative blogs such as installing you diesel stove, solar cells, etc. as well as the cruising blogs. You show that empowered ladies are every bit as capable as men, and can take on major self repair and improvement projects on their boat as well as managing all the locks, swing and lift bridges involved with cruising. I really admire the fact that you work so very hard to make a great job of your business. Prior to retirement I was involved with selling arts and crafts for many years have had two shops and a craft cafe so I know just how hard it can be, but your products are just excellent and the pin badges are now collectors items. It's always so lovely to see y'all, and this view into another part of your lives together is wonderful. I've been thinking about that as I recently started a job which is tech work but working from home and I have a house spouse now. We share an apartment with not a lot more space for us (it's 74 square meters but part of that is our roommate's room and all...)

It is good to know that you have achieved your goal of independence through your talents and hard work without having to rely on a traditional "job" while enjoying the freedom and beauty of the narrowboat lifestyle. Its nice to be allowed in to witness your lifestyle and also to be given the opportunity to see through the artists eye as it were. Im not sure if you are even aware of the way you frame your photo and videos but it does come through as we watch. Thank you. Slightly altered (more ladybugs) that particular painting would make an excellent clock. No numbers required just the clockwork and an appropriate set of hands. Possibly another revenue stream? Lovely video, Ironic your video starts out with a hail storm, as I just finished watching videos that happened with week about the biggest hail storms, with the biggest hailstones in recorded history, to hit south east QLD and Brisbane area , hailstones going through tiled roofs and gyprock ceilings falling in.
