The cleaning ingredient that cleans "cuts thru grease" is sodium carbonate (not bicarbonate) aka washing soda. You can buy it in bulk, it's not expensive, and you just add 2 tbsp to your water, with a small squirt of dawn blue dishwash liquid.

You may have broken down the finish on your wood floor. If I were in that situation, I would first try cleaning it with Murphy's oil soap, then put on a wood-floor rejuvenator. Rejuvenate’s wood floor restorer is one. It's less expensive than having the floor refinished.
I have the older O’Cedar system and use it daily as I have an animal sanctuary. The water gets dirty very quickly so it’s changed frequently. I really don’t understand how the water stays clean though? Once you put your dirty mop in to rinse it doesn’t it dirty the clean water? I saw a video with a great idea. I’m going to try today and that is to have a second bucket to put your mop in after you to get the basic dirt out each time and continue with the o cedar because I changed my water so much maybe this will cut down on that

Janice, your steam mop is much more effective. I've found detergent attracts dirt on your vinyl floors and sometimes gets slick if you have a spill. Good luck!
Don't do it. It will ruin your floor's, especially vinyl. It'll leave a film, which attracts dirt, dust & debris, make them stick & it'll be very difficult to clean afterwards.
You shouldn’t ever use it with a vacuum mop because it can clog up the machine. Only use cleaner specifically for it. You can use this method with a sponge mop, just go over with just plain water after you rinse.

Well…I bought my o cedar system….used a pod and the steaming water and a bit of Lysol…and the first time….the water was black…yuk! I’ve been mopping all wrong! The next times not so bad….my floors aren’t sticky…..I enjoy mopping now…..😊and not for nothing I really waited too long to get the o cedar mop system….
Hey! I have a son with allergies and i have to medifyRx air purifiers that i purchased from amazon. I also have some sort of tower air purifier from walmart that uses a 3m filter as well. They seem to cut down a lot of the airborne stuff. I also VACUUM with a shark HEPA vacuum every day even though i have hard floors. That seems to help us as well. Good luck!

I bought that tub and returned it...the water in the tank runs out very quickly...and I clean houses it takes a lot of time to pour out the water and refill it
I used to work at a convenience store with those shiny tiles and we were told to only use the blue concentrate that was also what we used in the windshield washer buckets by the pumps. So I would recommend picking up a cheap jug of the blue windshield washer fluid, probably the summer version because I am not sure what they add to make the winter versions not freeze so easy. If it is just a type of alcohol it should be fine though.

My second issue is with the spinning wringer. It doesn't wring out the water very well. The mop is way too wet when I use it and leaves water spots all over the place. Worst mop and wringer I have ever owned.
The finger is annoying and not everyone can afford to use a pod as they are expensive. When I had children I was cleaning almost daily now as a senior well its still almost daily. Back to serching.

Just use a regular mop, with a mop, that you can wring out without touching the top, and a regular bucket, and add a laundry pod to it. I've been doing this, for awhile now. That mop bucket looks like a pain the arse, to deal with. No thanks.

Im just dumbfounded that people think using concentrated soap meant for your clothes on your wood. No alcohol on your wood either. Wood floors have a special finish on them called aluminum oxide. There is usually 4 coats. You can damage the finish on the wood. Wood and water absolutely do not mix. Go to any hardwood floor manufacturer and see if they recommend laundry detergent water and alcohol. NO! Would you clean your clothes with toilet bowl cleaner? Cleaning products are developed for a particular product. No Pine Sol no liquid Gold or Murphy's oil soap no steam. either. Wodd floors are not supposed to be shiny. They will have a satin to Matte finish. Hardwood floor manufacturers recommend Bona. They have a whole line of hardwood floor products and will keep your floor looking great for 40 years. Find out what type of hardwood floors you have. Go to the Bona website and find the product that is recommended gor your floor. If you have Luxury Vinyl Plank and sheet vinyl also have recommended cleaning products. For picking up dust on the hardwood vacuum or dry Swiffer.

I vacuum and then use my Shark Steam Mop.
Sanitizers and cleans all at once. NO chemicals!
You do know you have to leave a steam mop in one place for several minutes before it’s actually sanitized

Wood floors. I don't mop my hardwood with a wet mop. I just use a damp cloth flat style mop. But you have motivated me to try this.
That detergent will leave sticky residue unless rinsed with a lot of water, the sticky residue will attract dirt and bacteria quickly!

My laminate is waterproof. Most laminates are not. You don't want to soak them. Damp mop is better. Linoleum can handle the water.
