In this video I strip paint from a pair of mid century Broyhill Brasilia chairs. - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
Beautiful work. Glad there was only 1 layer of paint. It saddens me to see such beautiful pieces painted like that. They turned out wonderful.
Not just one Captain's chair, but TWO! And for the cost of your "sweat equity"! Congratulations! They turned out beautifully; and I'm sure your Mrs is just thrilled!☺
You did a great job on these two chairs! I’d put a more elegant fabric on the chairs to enhance their beauty!
Agreed. 👍 gray looks very drab.
I love watching you perform your magic, because unlike a professional magician (who never shows how the tricks are done) you ALWAYS show how the tricks are done!
Nice work as always, thanks for noticeing the robertson screw head being a faithful canadian its nice to see the best screw head ever made being used, if it wasnt for Henry Ford it would be the #1 screw on the market today
PS: Love that you have merch, a patreon, and have made some “personal appearances.” Hope your channel continues to grow and thrive! You deserve to make bank for the value you provide to the refinishing - and ASMR 😂 - communities.
I really wanted to see them near the table. Such a beautiful chairs.
I've uploaded a video showing the chairs at the table to my Patreon page. There's a link to my Patreon in the description.
Beautiful. No wonder Brasilia is so popular with mid century furniture lovers. Great job, I'll bet you're thrilled to have them, plus they're arm chairs which are more expensive to buy.
Beautiful! I really appreciate the fact that you use tools that are readily accessible and not the huge, super expensive state of the art computerized machines that most of us cannot afford. Thank you!
The stain you chose really compliments those chairs well!
I haven't commented much on your work but I really like what you do in general. This one was really nice. Your repairs look solid and the chairs look fabulous.
What can I write that hasn't been written already? Excellent work as always! 🍻
Thank you!
I like that you save inexpensive (usually) stuff, that might otherwise end up in a landfill.
I have learned so much from you. I am always surprised when I see you using a technique that I used just on instinct. Makes me feel a bit more confident that I have a touch of common sense, heh. Thanks for sharing your skills/knowledge-how with the rest of us.
MCM has never been my aesthetic, however watching your work has given me a new appreciation for it.
Those are the end chairs so I am guessing the side chairs would be identical except for the arms. Very classy looking.
Watching this, I couldn’t help but remember your videos from your old house. You’ve come a long way, and I understand why you made the change, but I miss your old neighborhood and all the activity we used to see when you worked outside😊.
Steve, the result is beautiful. For the life of me, I don't understand what makes people paint over such gorgeous wood. BTW, you have a vocal doppelganger on TH-cam, James Condon.
Lovely job as usual. You have endless patience, something sadly I lack.
Beautiful pair of chairs. Thanks for sharing the process.
Great finished product - I think the walnut tone with the grey fabric looks amazing!
… and a nod to the Roberson screw.
Also, nice product placement ;)
Did you do anything to repair the burned-through veneer? Or was the gel stain enough to camouflage it? Love how solidly you repaired the chairs. Beautiful work!
Thanks! I just left the stain a little heavy over the veneer sand through and that was enough.
what a fantastic restoration of those chairs. would love to see them get new upholstery to match.
“Never again!”
*immediately does the thing*
You are very knowledgeable and talented. It’s ok to spend your time and skill on things that take time and skill.
I remember seeing these at one if my Aunt’s home, can’t remember which one. Very nice chairs.
The tobacco brown wood with the grey seats look wonderful ! excellent choice...
Amazing work as always ! The coloring came out wonderfully !
I admire your patience.
I actually have that dining table with 6 chairs. I love seeing it in the wild while my set sits in original shape in my house! It is great to see how they are put together.
Probably the first time I've seen something on the channel that actually looks more my style. These look classy! Love the curves of the chair and the striking contrast of the gel stain and gray pillows.
Fantastic! I can’t you got them for free. Brilliant
Nice “butchery correction”! They look great! 😊👍😘
So gorgeous!! Although I have to say, leaving the paint in areas that can’t be seen is making my OCD twitch 😂
They look beautiful with all that paint off of them now and you did a wonderful job restoring it as well!!!!
I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
awesome work . just ordered the stripper you use. hoping for the same success. love no harshness to it. loved to have seen the chairs with the table.
Thank you. I've uploaded a video showing the chairs at the table to my Patreon page. There's a link to my Patreon in the description.
Love what you did with the chairs, and such a great price !
Gorgeous restoration 😮😍 I haven’t been seeing your videos in my feed so I’m happy you posted a Community post because it reminded me to check out your recent videos. 🎉
You did such a detailed restoration job that I am confused why you left the paint on the base, on the not visible parts of the chairs! Thanks so much for sharing
This is exactly my question either - especially that the chair was totally disassembled, so no excuse for hard to reach surfaces. Otherwise, excellent work as always.
I was wondering the same thing.
Beautiful...as always. I'd sure like to see them with the table. Maybe at the beginning of your next video???
Thank you. I've uploaded a video showing the chairs at the table to my Patreon page. There's a link to my Patreon in the description.
They are beautiful and now elegant as they were new. Why people paint fine wood, brick and stone is a mystery to me. You did a great job. Enjoy them.
Chairs. I love ‘em. I hate ‘em. But mostly, I hate ‘em 😂.
You did a lovely job. May we see them with your table some day?
Oooh yes, would love to see that!
Ditto. Would have loved to see them with the table!

This video was so so satisfying! Nothing like watching you fix creaking chairs. They’re beautiful now and my life is complete, lol.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous new year from Eston in the north east of England.
These turned out great. I'd love to see them with the table.
I uploaded a video of them with the table to my Patreon page. Link to Patreon is in the description.
Wow, they are beautiful. You did a wonderful job. I missed out on a Credenza from this series at in the state sale by five minutes. It was a 72 inch Brasilia credenza. It was still there and the people told me they had sold it for $50 to a nice couple….. I’m still heartbroken😔 glad to see that you’re shaving some of the most beautiful furniture in the world. Thank you and see you on the next one.
Simply beautiful. I am happy for you to have these incredible chairs after all of the hard work you put into them.
If anyone else has some Brasilia dining chairs they're looking to give away for free, feel free to hit me up! LOL
Right!
What's the history of these chairs? Like the name Brasília has any relation to the capital of Brazil?
@@flavialm1the furniture series by Broyhill was likely inspired by the modernist Brasilia architecture of Oscar Niemeyer. To me particular examples are the Cathedral of Brasilia, Palacio de Alvorada and Palacio de Planalto designed in the 1950s. You can see the influence in the coffee table and dresser
@metafive1 that's amazing, I'm goinglook that up. Thank you
They turned into a very handsome pair of chairs. Bravo!
The chairs' graceful design is exquisite and you've done them proud.
The upholstery color is good with those chairs. Thanks.
Lovely job, I’d love to see them with the table!
Such fun (for me, anyway) to watch the craft you exercise. Thanks again!
Well done! I'd love to see them with your table.
Thank you! I've uploaded a video showing the chairs at the table to my Patreon page. There's a link to my Patreon in the description.
I'm glad you did it again!
Greatfull work. This mid-century style was quite popular in Brazil, mainly because of the frenzy with the construction of the new capital, Brasília, in the mid-1950s, being inaugurated in 1960. And I say this as a resident of the city and connoisseur of the typical art and architecture of the city.
You made them magnificent again!
Very elegant, fresh and beautiful. Well done.
Thank you.
Someone else said they didn’t like the color, but I think it’s warm and wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
I love your restoration films. You really need to explore doing voice over work.
They truly have Style those two Brasilia Chairs! You made them look like fresh out of the Store!
Nice work again Dashner. Beautiful chairs 👏👏👍
Turned out beautiful 😊
Nice work mate 👌 happy holidays 🎄
Thank you. Happy holidays to you, too!
So beautiful I was really hoping you were gonna show us what they looked like with the table.
I uploaded a video to my Patreon page showing them at the table. Patreon link is in the description.
You da tru goat 🐐 my g!!!! The greatest wood worker of all time!!! 💥💥💥💯🙏🏿🙏🏿🐐🐐🐐
Thomas Johnson antiques is probably the GOAT.
Wow you really scored on those great freebies. Now you have host and hostess chairs for the dining room table. Great surprise for a Christmas. Carol from California
Looking absolutely wonderful! I'm glad the paint removal process seemed a bit less overwhelming than your previous job.
Those chairs look amazing after you got ahold of them! So beautiful now!
Idk why, but it's fascinating to watch you work. Those look like a totally different pair of chairs! Nice job my dude
Beaufitul Chairs, Ive been watching your channel for a few years now or so, wonderful work and it makes me want to try it out with some thrift store furniture LOL
"now its time to apply the gel stain" Yessssss!
Love your work, beautiful job. They look amazing. Only one small niggle - I think if it were me I would have at least stripped the paint off the inside of the seat frame. I know it doesn't show, but it would bug me knowing that under the cushion wasn't finished :-)
I'm glad I wasn't the only person thinking that.
I remember those chairs from my childhood. Not comfortable for small children lol
Beautiful job!!
Wow! Beautiful and very elegant 👏🤩
Excellent
Very nice job on both chairs Glad you finally found chairs that match up with your dinning table!
Every time I see some furniture flipper chirping away about how great the sage green looks on whatever abomination that they are creating, I cringe knowing how much work it's going to be for someone down the road to get all that paint out of every fiddly little crack. If God wanted you to paint His marvelous works, maple syrup would come out sage green.
Awesome!
Great job!
Lovely!
Absolutely beautiful!
Amazing job 👏
Beautiful...!
They turned out so cool!
