    I see a little bit of water in your hull. Near the bilge pump especially.
    I am having the same thing with my polaris. Same model same year, color and our engines bays are identical.
    Shadetree Jetski, is this normal?
    The ski works and runs tremendous, no issues at all, thankfully!
    But i am nervous that the amount of water i see in the hull after bouncing on waves might be a bit much.? Even touching battery a bit.. The bilge is doing a great job pimping though.
    Just dont know if i should look into the water mystery harder. Should i think it is my carbon seal?
    Please respond looking for any tips.
    Thanks in advance!

    • @ShadetreeJetski

      I use the penzoil which is blue. You can use pretty much any 2 stroke oil that is available today. Some swear by the purple oil but the service rating on the oil is what you are looking for.

    Ever have to replace the fuel pump? Can’t get gas to the carburetor and not sure if I need to rip out the fuel tank to get to the pump.

    • @ShadetreeJetski
      @ShadetreeJetski  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fuel pump is a diaphragm inside the carb. Your pickup tubes are likely cracked or your fuel cap gasket is bad.

    Hey nice video I own a 700 polaris virage an it always loses power when I turn or put a load on it and I have to pump the throttle like a million times to get it to open up wide open again you know what It is the carb,fuel pump?? I've already replaced all the fuel lines n filter

    • @ShadetreeJetski
      @ShadetreeJetski  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Seems I have read something about that on one of the forums. It is probably a bad pickup tube in the fuel tank. I have a video on my kawasaki pickup tubes. I sold my polaris and regret it because overall it is the best riding most fuel efficient jet ski I ever owned.

    I have a '97 Polaris (Hurricane 700) with a fuel delivery issue. I know this as spark is present and compression good. It will start (with great effort) and run fine. Starting again it fires up but seems not to hold fuel after it sits. Lines are good and tried removing to clean (with Methyl Hydrate) long fuel canister from tank but it got stuck. Seems it has a lip on the bottom. There are also (2) in line yellow plastic cylinders attached to fuel lines coming out of the fuel unit that look like filters but can't be sure. They could be partially blocked but that would starve the engine so it can't be that. Can't be blocked air line from crankcase for fuel pump operation as it wouldn't start period. Really stumped on this and any help would be appreciated, thanks.

    • @ShadetreeJetski
      @ShadetreeJetski  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok I have never worked on one of those, but I would say the problem is in the fuel pickup tubes inside the tank. If they have 90 degree bends or fittings trash can get in there and cause a partial blockage.
      You need to perform a pressure test on the entire fuel system to check for leaks. Sometimes it is just a bad fuel cap. Use 3 psi of air NO MORE!!! Pressurize the system by removing the fuel inlet and return lines. Plug the inlet side and put the air nozzle in the fuel return line.You get soapy water in a bottle and spray EVERY part of the fuel system. Look for bubbles. The bubbles show where your fuel system is leaking air. All 2 strokes have to pressurize the tank to operate.
      You are losing pressure OR you have a blockage possibly both.

    Just out of curiosity what is the purpose of those clear / greenish hoses?

    So I’m new to jet skis and mine is new to me, and I have the same one, I’ve never seen it run is there a way I can start it out of water but with a hose so it doesn’t run dry to see what’s wrong with it?

    • @ShadetreeJetski
      @ShadetreeJetski  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you have to buy an adapter ( the one on this ski is on the black piece on top of the engine.. a blue hose) which you can connect a water hose to.
      This one needed a cdi box to get it going. This has been my favorite overall ski I ever owned. Yours likely has a bad cdi box as well. Check your stator, check your compression. Rebuild the carb only with a genuine Mikuni brand kit if it needs it. Clean all your fuel out of the tank if it has old gas in it and replace your fuel lines and filter.

    • @ShadetreeJetski
      @ShadetreeJetski  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@randydimsdle7737 If the oil pump is missing as well your ski is running premix 50/50 . Any 2 stroke oil container will tell you how much oil to mix with the fuel. I buy tygon lines from Amazon to replace the oil hoses. You can use regular fuel hose for the main line to the oil tank. Tygon is clear enough to see through the tube.

    I just bought a polaris 2000 vintage . How can I flush this machine with hose/ running it outside the water ?

    • @ShadetreeJetski
      @ShadetreeJetski  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you notice the blue hose attached to that black piece bolted to the top of the engine at .55 seconds in and later in the video.....that blue hose is an attachment that you hook a hose up to to flush the engine. Polaris does NOT come with those from the factory. You have to remove the plug and install a flush kit. Polaris also has a thermostat in the back of that black piece. Yours may be red instead of black because I replaced that piece because of a bad thermostat.

    • @ShadetreeJetski
      @ShadetreeJetski  ปีที่แล้ว

      It can be a carb issue or a fuel delivery issue. The pickup tubes in the tank are plastic and can crack or get clogged. I would perform a pressure test and blow out and inspect the fuel lines. There is also a screen inside the carb that can get clogged.

    • @ShadetreeJetski

      It could be loose or corroded wires. 2nd it could be a bad start solenoid. 3.It could be a bad starter
      or bendix. 4. It could be debris jammed in the jet pump. 5. Worst case it could be a locked engine.
      Try to turn the engine by hand. If it rotates #5 is eliminated and #4 is eliminated unless it is very hard to turn.
      You turn the engine by hand by rotating the output shaft coming out of the back of the engine. It usually has a plastic cover over it which has to be removed to turn the shaft.
