    Janixa, thank you so much for stating that this could be a good collection for newcomers. Not everyone has a vast polish collection and not everyone has found their core staples. Thanks for always being an amazing channel for newcomers to grow!

      Right. I had to sell my polish collection 4 years ago since we were buying a house. Now I'm restocking my collection and it's been fun getting older ones back and new ones coming out.

    The 2 hot to handle red is like gold and fire in a bottle. Just love it!!!!

    A big thank you for posting this video now! ❤ This holiday season has been challenging, and it's nice to be reminded that there are things to look forward to after it!

    Thank you for your videos! Personally, it's too soon for me for Valentine's Day. If you pay attention to all the polish collections that come out lately, it makes your head swim! LOL I like the hearts, but I agree with you. If I was to use it, I would take one heart, like an accent or something. Thanks again!!

    Love the video 💙 I have a few China Glaze and I only wear them occasionally because there are so many better brands out there, but it's nice to see something other than the holiday collections.

    I agreed. Because China Glaze needs to upgrade the brushes to a wide brushes. The valentine collection is okay except for the topper. Some of the polishes that a matte finish that a shiny topcoat. I couldn't wait for Zoya with the new collection.

    This collection has my.... 💞🤪
    I'm not new, just poor, so I don't have a plethora - I've never bought four polishes at one time, but this is the most exciting collection I've seen.. gotta be most of the year. Loved the review, thank you!

    How do these pinks compare to the pinks from the spring 2023 collection? I feel like China Glaze does a good job with neon creams, neon pastel creams, and specialty finishes.

    2 Hot 2 Handle is gorgeous! That topper is unfortunate. I wish the pinks were a bit different because I'm craving a good pink. Thanks for the review, Janixa.

    How do you think that 1st red compares to Ruby Pumps?

    • @naillacquertherapy

      Ruby Pumps is darker and has less glitter.

    • @naillacquertherapy

      But they are very very close. You probably don’t need both.

    China glaze and OPI have declined over the years. I don’t know if it’s the cost of pigments, etc, or what, but they’ve stopped making anything unique. It’s like they invest in one collection per year thats unique and worth buying. Seems like they just use bare minimum components to make a polish. The pretty glitters and multi dimensional shimmers are gone. I will admit, the shimmery red in this collection is pretty. Curious if anyone else feels this way? My other gripe is: if you’re going to make a glitter polish where you have to dump and fish, then just sell a tub of stand alone glitters. Why even put it in a polish base? That heart topper is insulting. I’d rather just have some heart confetti glitter and apply them manually….make it make sense.

    • @naillacquertherapy
      @naillacquertherapy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree about the stand alone glitter!

      @Rhonda9617 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I totally agree. I haven’t been excited about their collections for quite some time. It’s been a while since they released what I consider a unique “must have” polish even…

      @SimplyIntoMyNAILS ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree about OPI, I use the Gelcolor system. This year (maybe year and a half) I have brought far less from collections and zero full collections because it's all very samey and repeated reds and pinks. All the frosty shades this year saved me from buying so many colours because my clients won't want to wear them

    • @alb91878
      @alb91878 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You're not wrong! China glaze was one of my first indie brand polishes that you could find in salons that I tried. My first bottle was Ruby pumps and I still love that one to this day. About 4 or 5 years ago is when I started noticing their decline and creativity or effort. There are so many polishes I still have from back then that I absolutely treasure and love but you're correct in them declining an effort lately. Janixa is definitely correct on the cream polishes though. They have always been very hit or miss with them. They would always have some of the prettiest freaking colors you could find, but the application would be horrendous. For every one good cream you would find, there would be at least 10 others that were awful. OPI, I did not really start liking them until about 6 years ago maybe 5 years ago and then they started to me declining in the last couple of years as well. As far as the stand-alone glitter one I think it would have helped if they had actually added more glitter to the bottle. It's so sparse you barely get any in the bottle so I can see why she had to struggle to get any out. If you're going to do just glitter and a suspension base you need to add a lot of glitter so people can get some and feel like they're getting what they paid for

    • @violetflame03
      @violetflame03 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      100% agree about the decline. China Glaze was always known for pretty jelly based glitters (my absolute favorites) and shimmers, as well as their holos. It really does seem that only one collection a year gets all the care - like the Jurassic World collex was amazing, the Dippin' Dots was great too. The rest only present one or two polishes that catch my interest.

  • @alb91878
    @alb91878 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I agree with you on their creams. To me only one in 10 of their creams are good. I think adding smaller heart glitters like you said but also a lot more of them in the bottle would actually help on the topper one.

    The topper is a dupe for the V- day ones from Nicole by OPI "Love your Life" and "Step 2 the beat of my ❤" a few years ago.
    You are absolutely right, the size of those glitter hearts is just too big- and thus makes for clutzy application.
    Looks pretty in the bottle tho! I like the red glitters and the cremes...but I'm a pink girl at heart- no pun😂

    I’m always a sucker for reds & Valentine’s collections. But this one fell a little flat for me. I’ll definitely be picking up Eat Your Heart Out, Read My Lips & 2 Hot 2 Handle.

  • @lisapiche8900
    @lisapiche8900 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's a nice standard collection. Will I pick it up? The cremes - no, because I have these colors in my substantial collection. I do like the two red with the different finishes. I will most likely pick those up. And the heart topper is cute, but you're right - they're too big.

    I recently bought some polishes in London, and one looked very similar to the red with orange shimmer. They were really cheap, only like 3 usd, havent swatched them yet so we shall see how good they really are.
    Also, if you do ever go to London, definitely get vaccinated. I tested positive for covid just after flying out of the UK and am still currently dealing with it. Also the smoking in some places is horrible! And the public restrooms... so gross! Bring sanitizer!

    I wouldn't use chunky glitter polishes on my nails because I don't like to mess up my manicure. I do love red nail polishes but when you try to remove them it is a messy process. You would have to remove the red nail polish a second or third time. Of course, your nails do become yellow after the removal. I did get the Sally Hansen primer polish and it is incredible to use for your nails, then you can apply the color, and lastly you can put on the top coat.

    The reds were the best in the collection. Orly's Lisa Frank collection had a better heart glitter topper. Overall, this collection wasn't that ...outstanding. Then again it's hard for any CG glaze to beat my gold standard: The Jurrasic World collection from a few years ago.

    Without seeing them side by side, I can't be 100% sure, but Sweet Cheeks looks an awful lot like Totally Taffy from the Wonka collection to me. Releasing a pale pink cream in a very similar tone in 2 collections back to back seems pretty redundant and lacking creativity.
