I totally agree with you about brands letting us know whether their polishes are matte or not. I also wish brands would bring back popular polishes the way Cirque Colors does in their vice collections, so newbies like me have the opportunity to try them out😊

We’re just so used to getting AMAZING polishes from China Glaze for Halloween! These aren’t terrible at all, just not what we have come to expect from one of the only mainstream brands that does Halloween collections. Still love China Glaze though! 🖤🖤🖤
It’s so great they put Matte on the bottle cap, I always thought they should have to warn us! Lool. I was expecting more for sure, but I’ll love China Glaze until the end. 😂
I love they wrote matte on the cap. Finally. They tried the frosted bottle at some point but it was on specific shades. I still have a lot of mattes from them where I had to put a sticker on to remind me it was matte. Great addition writing it on the cap.
Janixa I am an accountant, so consider this as coming from a numbers person; I think CG being a larger mainstream n.p. maker, is much more constrained by its budgets and associated number crunchers. They probably hired some very creative people who have all these ideas- but are then told that they blew the budget on the Jurassic collection, or the summer one etc... So they didn't have the $ for the glitter or flakies or whatever finish they planned on. Maybe more was promised for the xmas release, if they could bring it in under budget. That is the advantage of having an indie line. You don't have to pay dividends to stockholders, you can make small, crazy releases with every texture and color! I buy mainstream too. I love CG, OPI, Essie etc...if they could just invent some new colors! Like a blurple LOL😅
That neon green is a real streaky downer. I love the glittery ones though. I wish they could have given us another holo like last year. Has China Glaze even released a holo at all in any collection since last Halloween? 🤔
I've seen China Glaze and Color Club use frosted bottles for matte polishes in the past but not consistently. I wish all companies would do this permanently. Frosted bottles are so pretty!
I watched your swatch video for this collection, trying to find *one* color worth buying. Sad part is, I have some form of all of these colors from polishes I bought some time ago. Others I could simply slap a matte top coat over, like Holo Taco One Coat Black. Thank you for saving me money though, since this is the one China Glaze collection that I *don't* want

I don’t agree that they’ve been lackluster for a while. They have released some fun collections this year. Jurassic World and Dippin Dots were some of my favorites. This collection is probably the most boring of the year.
I also like that they indicated which polishes are matte. But I agree, this year's Halloween offering is disappointing--especially after 2021'a Xtra Stellar (which really was stellar!). Even so, I think I may pick up the matte black at least--it looks a little more velvety than some other matte formulas (is it?).
The lime green one might work better on short nails -- just a guess. That being said, I have other similar colors, so I don't "need" this one. Actually, like you pointed out, many of us long-time collectors probably already have shades like these. But, the ones that glow under black light are unique! I haven't bought China Glaze in quite a while due to inconsistent formulas; but I definitely give them an A+ for their creativity over the years. The brand really does try! They haven't played it safe like some of the other mainstream brands, and I admire that.
So sad....I miss the fun Halloween collections. Where are the funky colors and fun finishes. This will be my first year since I started collecting polishes 10 years ago that I won't be buying anything from their Halloween collection. I am hoping Essie will come out with a Halloween collection like they did a two years ago.

I think that collection also had a really great theme, too. Very different. It's probably getting hard to come up with variations on "Halloween" every year!
Really disappointed with this entire collection. China Glaze already has these shades out, if not exact dupes then certainly too similar to have both. This is China Glaze’s third matte black polish and their second matte white. Not needed at all. On a more positive note, fantastic video Janixa. Always get excited when you upload. 😁
I didn’t like that there’s a white and a black polish. I just have no interest in these. It’s good they’re putting Matte on the caps, and other brands need to do that too. We also need makers to put Magnetic on caps too!
Every single brand, whether indie or mainstream, should put somewhere on the bottle or label that the polish has a special finish. Heck, they should put “cream”. Start telling us what finishes are for everything!

Yeah, I'm not feeling this, especially from CG! Their halloween collections are usually so daring that this just feels like a throw away (especially after all the crazy finishes etc in the Jurassic World collection).
I think when you collect nail polish it's easy to forget that most people don't have 100 plus bottles of "basic" colors already. This looks like CG decided to make a Halloween collection to sell polishes to everyone else, who might just be attracted by the display in the store. It's sad these are so simple given how fun last year's collection was! But it seems like this fall in general there are a lot of creams and not many interesting finishes. It is really disappointing that they had terrible formulas for the white and the neon yellow in particular when they have similar polishes with good formulas.

I think they probably blew their yearly budget with the Jurassic World polishes and decided to do a simple Halloween collection. China Glaze Halloween collections are usually my favorite and this is the first year I’m skipping it.
I'm very disappointed with this collection ☹️. I guess the pandemic really hit the brand because I've noticed since 2020 they have released very dupable shades, not as unique as they used to give us. I hope they come back with their usual gorgeous and unique polishes. Maybe some repromoted shades would have been nice 😉
I was shopping on Head2Toe and saw they had this collection so I came right to youtube to see some live swatches so I can decide if I want to get them or not . Surprised to see the polishes so sheer. I don't mind Matte because I always use a glossy top coat. The collection as a whole is really boring. No need to purchase any of the polishes imo.
The collection is pretty disappointing. I think they missed an opportunity to make that white polish have various shades of gray speckles so when it dries matte it looks like marble or a tombstone.

The blue shimmer shows up really well, it's the only one I bought. It's pretty, but China Glaze gas been really lackluster for a while.
