About half a billion years ago, the first "tree-like" organisms on land were actually gigantic fungi that grew to be dozens of feet (tens of meters) tall
I wonder if they'd be good for building like trees. I can only imagine some person back then trying to make shelter and promptly realizing it's a giant mushroom.
@chillfactory9000 There weren't even dinosaurs back then. Also, the first tree like organism was a pseudoplant 420m years ago, in the Devonian Period. Prototaxites resembled giant vibrators or just the stems of mushrooms, far more than trees. The only resemblance to trees, being that they were roughly 24 feet tall. They were around 400m years ago.
@@jakegenocide: I think that he was just being fanciful and not really thinking that people were actually around back then. To your point: Not only were dinosaurs not around back then, this era long predates the emergence of any terrestrial animals, whether invertebrate or vertebrate -- and I don't think even the first terrestrial plants had made it out of the water and permanently onto dry land yet, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong
You could avoid those giant fat stems by introducing breathing holes closer to the substrate. Once the mycelium decides to create a mushroom that is specific to the growing environment, you can clone that mushroom and your next grow will be a consistent canopy of clones.

Yes you can pick the bigger fruit.
You want the shrooms to stay smaller if theyre psilocybin. The smaller and medium sized ones are more potent. The large ones dont carry as much

Was that the vail that keeps the spores when the cap opened?
The veil doesn’t necessarily keep the spores in, but it always breaks before the spores are dropped.
