a really sad thing I found out about the lag in battles and crashes at least on my end was the in game sound, the moment troops would enter melee combat I'd get a whopping 2 FPS, I disabled in game sound and I'm back to my usual consistent 60 FPS.
Quick tip for using - to gather nearby archers in sieges: Instead of leaving them where you want with hold position, you can instead have them stand ground once you get them in the right place. This will let the AI get into LOS/Firing position and not care so much about being in formation. Doesn't always work with the siege maps in Warsword but usually is better than hold position.
I have no idea what would be causing your crashes, I have a semi old shitty CPU, pretty beefy GPU and 64gb of RAM, I run with battle size 1230 running into war parties of 1.2k with a group of 500 units under me(cheesed leadership) and I only ever crash when the game has ran for over 5 hours at a time, never in a field battle, and I run a lot of casters as well as being Tzeentch myself
Guns are balanced. You need to relaod them for a long time, accurace is shit. And they are GUNS not bows. Edit: You need the ARMORY upgrade i believe, then ammo regens.
Guns, literally almost I'm pretty sure all of them are merely limited by your ability to aim or the NPC's Gun skill and most late game units won't have an issue with that, nor should you given how much stronger ranged weaponry is in the hands of a player, wheras lets say what the wiki regards as the "Best school of magic" offensive wise, its Celestial apparently, and only after around like 15-20 levels and huge gold investments (if you're in the early game) does it become truly powerful whereas most guns are just going to be one shoting if you're aiming head level at level 1... Not to mention regardless of your armor, say you're facing dwarves, unless you're 100 strength with 100 Ironflesh or 100 agility, most shotguns, if they get off one shot on you, you're fucking dead.
@@sarahhatesit I dont know, even in real life when you get shot it depends on RNG if you die or not. A shotgun is supposed to oneshot you. A shotgun is nothing more than a SMG that shoots multiple bullets at once. Bullets are still bullets ma girl. And yes guns penetrate armor. Do you know waht also penetrates armor? AVADA KEDAVRA! And because this is M&B bullets cant penetrate multiple target unless they are AOE. But 90% guns can only hit 1 target. You know what that means? Because of the engine the bullets travel so fast that when 1 bullet kills something, that somethings body will still be registered as an obstacle for half a second blocking all other incoming bullets aimed at it. You know waht that means? That guns waste a lot of ammo when targeting the same target. You know waht taht means? They need to reload very often. You know what that means? Bows can shoot at them 3 times before they reload, yeah obviously the same rules apply to arrows aswell, they still waste ammo, but atleast they can shoot in comparison to guns constantly. Also did you know most gun wielding units are very weak? Same as bows and most ranged units. But it hurts more to lose a gun unit that only shot 3 times in an entire battle tahn a bow unit taht already shot 15. Simply, so you understand. GUN is balanced.

i think the upgraded waystalker got x2 quiver, but they have insane fire speed/accuracy so they often empty it faster than gun unit.

Warsword is an mod of warband. I don't think it works for Vikings conquest, but you can try I guess.
It 100% doesn't work on viking conquest. You would know this if you have the mod installed
