Clay is one of those rare humans that are genuine. He scored my Arkansas black bear which made and B&C that I took with a bow. He made everything seamless and I will always appreciate him for that.
If you haven’t yet you should get the book wrote about Holt. One of the most interesting men in Southern history! Just got done with it and thinking about reading it again to make sure I didn’t miss anything!
Love seeing Clay on your podcast! His knowledge on hunting history, tips on how to fully use the animal, and the way he is bringing back the old world skills is refreshing in the hunting influencer era.
Keep Hammering and Keep the wild places wild.....because that's where the bears live .......... Great podcast with 2 great guys that do so much to educate folks about the outdoors and hunting 👍 👍👍👍
Awesome pod. To touch on what you said about spirituality around bears and native american philosophy. I myself am a Mohawk Bear clan bowhunter. We regard bears as the medicine keepers in the culture. Highest honour for an animal. For that reason I do not hunt bears. Keep hammering.
Canning bear is bear at its best. Better than beef potroast! Then burgers or as me and the misses call em bear grrrrrrr's. After that its still good but elk is better. ;) we sous vide the back straps but elk and deer is better.
Thank you both for what you do and provide for all of us. Such awesome, humble, and genuine guys. Really enjoyed this one, and it gives me some food for thought.
Comparing hunting to basketball is comparing apples to oranges. It's becoming a pay to play system. The ratio of the amount of hunters and the public land to hunt is getting out of balance. Arkansas public land is over crowded. Other states with big game like elk are getting over crowed on public land. Before social media the pressure wasn't near as bad. People actual had to work to figure out how to hunt or where to hunt. Now every kid and their momma is out hunting with no morals and no respect. It's a problem. Private land leases are sky rocketing in price due to the glamorization of hunting. It's getting commercialized. Everybody wants their dollar off of it.
My grandparents lived in Arkansas so I grew up fishing and hunting there when I visiting from Kansas. Arkansas is a beautiful state with outstanding hunting and fishing. Awesome content.
I can listen to clay talk about anything outdoors related. Another "poacher" you guys should interview is Charles Beaty, his stories are by far the most exilerlating and full throttle I've come across. Hes an open book too!!
Just listened to Clay tell his story on dumping his canoe and getting pinned under water. What a good story! Rinellas Campfire 🔥 stories on Audible. Good show fellas!
Great collective. Man deep deep thought you brought up. Are they trying to ruin hunting so it is unnessary to hunt? I am on track to take my first deer this year 2024. I'm wanting to do more research and maybe get into hunting coyote as well. Hunt the predators as well like you mentioned.

The Holt Collier series is one of the best stories I’ve ever heard. Binged right through it. Probably one of my favorite historical characters

I can guarantee if we start making an enough commotion Taylor Sheridan would totally write a movie or show about Holt Collier. That’d be epic!!!
Love Clay and everything he stands for. Great episode
Clays boy shot that deer too, he was just down to his last dull broadhead tipped arrow and it bounced off.

So awesome seeing Clay and Cam together. Such a badass duo. Thanks for sharing such a meaningful and empowering discussion.
I like clay myself I spoke to him through social media several years ago.
He always answered my questions not many do that.
Clay is the best. A fellow Arkansan.
Thank you both for what you do and provide for all of us. Such awesome, humble, and genuine guys. Really enjoyed this one, and it gives me some food for thought.
Two of my favorite worlds colliding here. Could listen to 40 hours of these accomplished and educated hunters chatting. Great product, gentlemen!

Cam I love you but please let these men talk. We don’t click to hear from you (as much). We want to hear all about the guest
I would love to read a book on you and Roy’s adventures. Those memories need to live forever.
Great Podcast! i wish Clay would continue his bear hunting magazine podcast
Some primitive bowyers still use bear grease to moisture proof their bows and arrows.
Cam thank you
Just started the episode, I have to know, where do I find that hat?! Thanks
Clay is awesome. Always like the way he depicts the hunts and nature.
Excellent podcast, Cam. Well done.
Such a good podcast. Loved every minute
Always love to listen to what you have to say! Keep up the great work!
what happened to all the lift run shoots??
Love that the two of you guys did this podcast.
These are great!! Look forward too seeing new guest.
Great podcast
Two of the best in the outdoor industry!!
Thanx
Nah not a fan of hound hunting. we’ve already got enough of an advantage over the animals these days
Hound hunters are the worst. Annoying, confrontational as all get out, and think they own the land. Could care less if they ban it.
Bad stereotype based on a few bad experiences
Cam remember Ted Nugent poaching incident over a permitted tag ?
Many thanks for the upload, keep 'em coming! 👍
