Jio is the default choice of a customer who wants basic connectivity.
Vodafone Idea is still struggling.
BSNL IS MAKING A COMEBACK AND It will be the NEW DEFAULT CHOICE for customers and Jio’s problem will increase even more once BSNL launches 5G. BSNL will also be a good reliable choice because it can be a good reliable government brand it was earlier in its previous golden era.

This the reason.. I am keeping my Airtel sim alive
How come we never asked Airtel that why they were giving data so costly i.e. around 300 MB for ₹100 ...which decreased so drastically once Jio intervened?
Learn how wireless communication works my friend. Jio and Airtel both use very different technologies to provide telecomm service so apparently the cost difference.
That's how the market works things get change to compete... simple logic
@@thivyasekhar9737why didn't Airtel get the same technology
@@vickyeahme6532 airtel had large 2G and 3G customers back then, so they had to operate on older tower technology, but Jio operates only 4G and they started as new company so they set up as an all 4G towers. Inorder to switch to 4G all the equipments in a tower need to be replaced with new type of hardware which will cost a fortune. Now since Airtel also had sizable number of 2G customer base, operating two different hardware equipments on same tower would not be profitable. So they might have chosen to stick to older tech.
And,after launching of Jio, Vodafone, idea and airtel all got the technology. They r enjoying..not interested in upgradation..now fighting tough battles
Airtel has very predatory practices where they disable your sim if you don't recharge after 7 days. This limit is much longer on JIO (from my experience they don't stop incoming until the 90 day - limit set by TRAI)
Whenever a company tries to loot me and treats me as a commodity, I choose the better option. Same reason I have switched to JIO fiber as well.
I didn't recharged my jio number for almost 1 year but incoming is working very fine and now i start using that sim and its working absolutely fine ❤️

Apart from the huge fiber network, the recent announcement for Jio Airfiber is also likely to help them improve the last-mile connectivity challenge. It's expected they would be able to fulfill the new connection request much faster and possibly at a cheaper price.
When I hear Airtel, a sense of irritation immediately engulfs my mind. It's like a reflexive reaction that's hard to shake. The reason for this visceral response is deeply rooted in my experiences with their exorbitant data charges. Airtel had this uncanny knack for charging a whopping 250 bucks for just 1 gigabyte of data. It felt like daylight robbery, and I couldn't help but feel like they were exploiting every user in the process.
The frustration and resentment grew exponentially with each bill, as it seemed that Airtel was relentless in its pursuit of profit. It wasn't just about the money; it was about feeling taken advantage of by a telecommunications giant.
But then, like a ray of hope on the horizon, Jio emerged as a game-changer. With its affordable data plans and high-speed internet, Jio put an end to the madness that Airtel had perpetuated for so long. It was a breath of fresh air for consumers who had long been suffocated by Airtel's exorbitant prices.
Jio not only provided cost-effective data plans but also forced Airtel and other telecom companies to rethink their pricing strategies. It was a revolution that benefited consumers nationwide. So, whenever I think about Airtel and that irritation starts to creep in, I can't help but appreciate Jio for stepping in and putting an end to the exploitation that many of us had endured for far too long.
You're a good storyteller.
Perfectly put.
I was customer of Airtel postpaid in 2015 for 8 months with plan of 799.
Local and std 60 & 80 Paisa per minute respectively. 250 free sms.

But shock to get bill of 2200-2900 ₹ bill per month.
Data was only use for whatsapp and e-mail or few MP3 song download.
Fine but when bill came 8900₹. I just quit.

My frustration is not about the way they used to charge, I understand that’s business. My frustration is they bill you for the service which you have not opted.
For example, I’m still getting new bills for the service which I didn’t subscribe for. They also have their irritating collection agency who doesn’t understand the crux of the problem.
I have also heard my friends saying they are getting bills of some other connections.
Jio in that matter is very straightforward.
No matter father is father. Just think 1gb of data we got for 399 😮. Thank you Jio for changing the Indian market 🎉❤

As I worked with both of the company's network architectures. I noticed a drastic difference between the two telecom companies' equipment and topologies. Although Jio's strategy is like slow addiction, it's all about long-term games. 1st of all, customers should not be categorized. Because, in the long run, a family's income of the lower class family will always increases so it's just a matter of upgradation of changing a keypad phone to a touch phone, and then revenue will be reversed. Moreover the network speed of Airtel in Bangalore is terrible . sometimes it doesn't even work in highly populated places. They can't even afford for Standalone 5G network. Sunil Bharti Mittal shouldn't have this much attitude
In NCR, Airtel in recent years has had really poor network reception and people here are switching over to Jio. Airtel is was excellent during the 3G days but it has just went downhill since then.
i was a jio user since jio launched , my number started with 8638 still using the same number , but its been one year i have ported to airtel , too good network airtel ka , matlab me bhot jaga pe jata hu northeast pe jyadatar jaga pr airtel ka net bhot better hai jio se
Definitely a Salute to Mr. Mittal , he survived his Airtel in such a tough situation not only surviving
Jio has the advantage of 700mhz band 28 network in 5g. Its ahead of the competition.
This guys give everything we need to know about a business in just 10-15 mins ... ❤❤❤
2 years back I used to recharge for 29/- to keep my number active for 28 days. Now I am paying 155/- for the same. No wonder Airtel revenue beat Jio. They inflated their prices 5X
The explanation and the depth of research are excellent. The numbers provided are appropriate without overwhelming the majority. However, I have one concern. Whenever you mention a specific number, please also include the source from which you obtained that particular figure. This practice will enable your content to be used as a secondary research resource and enhance the trustworthiness of your work. Keep up the good work!

After jio entry, market dynamics changed on smart phone usage and data plans. Thanks for fierce pricing plans. Now call charges literally nil with no roaming limitations. Wider customer base and expansion of digital india is way ahead. Airtel always stand ahead to lead the way, being a market leader.
I am student and have a jio sim and I belongs to the "free consumer" category . In future when my purchase power increases , will I move to Airtel ? No ! For broadband , ott , postpaid , 5g etc I'll be with jio , because I am familiar with their services.
What is free consumer category

@@amartya_debnath I seen the video now I know
I am from Patna, living in Pune , here Network Speed of Airtel is even pooor than , BSNL speed is in Patna.
This was such an insightful case study… I have been working in the telecom sector since 2+ years but never got such a deep understanding about these major players … kudos to Thinkschool …very well researched content 🙌
The presentation is amazing looks like you took from Johnny Harris
Before jio I remember i used to pay ₹200-300 just for only 1-2 gb of data for the whole month.
And this used to frustrate me very very much. And I always used to hate those companies, especially “Airtel”.
And then Jio game and I cannot say how much it helped. It not just reduced the cost of recharge.
It simply changes the life of millions of students, small businesses, services and many more, and made internet accessible to everyone.
If jio wouldn’t have came, then these companies would have still sucking the blood of normal customers.
I don’t know why few people hate jio?
Nice content as usual, however, I have a SUGGESTION- Whenever you use any numbers, please use them in the Indian metrics. Your content and most of the audiences are Indians so the number formats ideally should be the one used in India so one can easily relate without much thinking. In this video, for eg, instead of saying 75 millions or 350 millions population, it would have been great if the numbers are mentioned as 7.5 crores, or 35 crores.
It's gonna create more problems for people who want to learn for their job opportunities where global metrics are used... Not laks and crores.. It really messes with your calculations
@@t_gr4809 There is nothing like that. Forget about metrics, large number of people (even top corporates, politicians etc) from countries like Germany, France, Japan, China, Italy can't even write or speak in English and still they are economically successful. Copying western terms doesn't mean you get opportunities otherwise non-English speaking nations wouldn't have been so successful.
Indians have to come out of the mindset that copying western culture, terminologies are required to grab opportunities or become successful.
@@i_love_god10 it's not language.. It's units *10^3 is much easier... As you mentioned... The above countries also use *10^3 denominatons... It's not abt language..Americans use a different measurement system.. I'm not comfortable with that too...not everything is abt colonial system..It's basic math making things complex.. Why would you want to make things complex?
@@t_gr4809 I think you missed the point. It's not about the language only. The example I used is to show that to grab opportunities or to become successful, one doesn't need to drop off their local way, and adopt western system. The countries above have shown that with their example by dropping off English, doing business and all other communicating in their local system. If they can do that without English, metric system is such a small thing to overcome for Indians. The point is- we should be using systems which we are used to and more familiarized with. Indians doesn't need to adopt to western Metric system to grab opportunities or to become successful as you have mentioned in your response earlier.
For metric units- there is nothing called easier or harder/complex denominations. It's all about habit and what you are accustomed to. Majority of Indians are used to lakhs, and crores, so it's pretty obvious that one should use it the video specially when the video is addressed by the Indian and for the Indians. Using words like millions or billions in Indian context make it complex. Have you heard any American using words like lakhs, crores, or degree Celsius in any of their video giving details about America, mainly to American guys?
Can We have a detailed case study on how ISKON operates in India.
Because I have seen various video claiming that the revenue of iskon is used as profit by USA organisation and ISKON operates as a business in INDIA not as trust
So please can you clearify what is reality of ISKON temple organisation
I had portded my jio prepaid to airtle postpaid few months back because on a particular location I was frequently there was no jio network.. Found it very difficult to stream videos on airtel while traveling. Now I am switching back to Jio in a couple of days as my office location has changed to save cost and get better speed
Apart from such beautiful analysis I want both company to survive healthy wherein Airtel target prime and Jio target bottom prime
The country' destiny is written when all members progress and thanks to #JIO which apart from business is investing in Social Up-liftment of Down section of society

There was TWO LANDMARK REVOLUTION IN TELECOM SECTOR IN INDIA
TATA... revolutionised by introducing per paise calling FIRST
then
Later on,
JIO revolutionised by giving AFFORDABLE DATA
Been with Airtel since 2015 👌 ,tried jio for few years in between that ,but the speed , smoothness in call is better with Airtel always, and it has gotten better with time.
One more thing is sometimes I've noticed if i complain to Airtel about slow network speed in a area ,it has been resolved within a week . So u pay a lil extra but u get seamless service, that's way better
Yes, I’ve been with Airtel since 2011. Some hiccups, but largely they are reliable. Jio is doing fine, and certainly helping the poor
In my case it opposite
It's different for me. I don't care about the pricing strategy of Airtel. I was an Airtel user back in 2018. Seemless speed and powerfully connectivity, but one fine day all of sudden my data speed went from 17mbps to 0.02mbps. Even 144p streaming had a lot of buffers. Complained to Airtel, they were very much interested in clearing my queries for 1st one week. They promised me that the speed will be fixed within 24hrs, I trusted them since I live in a tier 1 city and a lot of people around my area faced the same issue. Another one week, zero improvement, I had to file a complaint again. It all went for about 8 months, I can't digest the fact that this the very company that's ruling the telecomm services. I ditched Airtel for Jio, still a Jio user. Never going back again!
(Internet speed issues was fixed in Airtel 1.2 years later)
I am using airtel since 2007 and found that JIO has better internet reception in most of area compared to airtel. 5G network of JIO is more spread that airtel.
@@Blkhwk_ i can't talk about 5g ,I'm still using my poco X2 4g ,and in my experience Airtel has better connectivity and speed
The day, Airtel badmouthed Hindu Festivals, I ported all my 8 Airtel Sim Cards to Jio Network & made sure, that they know the reason why I did so. They apologised & kept begging to stay back. But, that was a Final Goodbye to them.
Good job bro ,,, this how we should teach lesson to people who attack on our cultural identities.
Data accumulation was a master stroke from tele companies but it happened after Jio’s arrival but they couldn’t leverage it effectively, they lost the momentum
Reliance industries always gives goods and services very affordable prices ❤
If there is no competition for jio, then the jio will also start monopoly in telecom industry as we seen before 2016, Definitely there should be some competitor so that there will be no chance of monopoly...

Airtel postpaid is 1.5x prices compare to jio. But Airtel Service is better.
mad respect for Bharti Mittal
I am digital only from 3 years. I just loved Airtel Xstream fibre the speed the customer support and the updates during outages.
I dont stay in India anymore but I miss my Airtel connections, now I am paying 3 times more than what I was paying for Airtel here.
But I hated their Airtel Pay or whatever it was.
I was Postpaid where data was carried over and I was having high speed fibre.
I never bothered even to get free peanuts of Jio in their trail run for a year.
This is really great. Providing a comprehensive insight into the business models of Airtel and Jio in such an engaging manner. From understanding their customer segment base to examining expenditures and revenue, every aspect was covered meticulously. The percentage distribution analysis was particularly impressive. Learning about the customer distribution in OTT and the strategies employed by both Airtel and Jio was insightful. Thank you for sharing such valuable information!
It's true
I am also planning to port in Airtel
Because bad range of jio in my home less internet speed sometimes no internet in tier 2 city
You Surely should. Airtel has best network connectivity and jio isn't even near.
I was a Jio user myself.. But Airtel is really far ahead in terms of quality.. I now have 2 Airtel sims and 3 fiber connections as Jio team is too busy to lay the fiber at least in my area and I'm not interested in mediocre service..
Airtel is really performing very well in Sri Lanka too
I used to use Jio Fiber at my old home last year, and no other service provider could compete with their exceptional service. However, this year I moved to a new place where I have no option but to use Airtel Xtreme. Unfortunately, Airtel has monopolized the area by allegedly offering incentives to local authorities, making it difficult for Jio Fiber to operate.
I didn't know how deeply you went, & the diverse content I'm just loving it
In addition to what you said, the JIO may be providing huge employment to the Indian people. JIO has targeted both the profits and in parallel economical growth of India by providing and creating huge employment for all the classes of the society when compared to Airtel.
Since Airtel meets our needs and we don't care about anything else, my family and I are platinum members. After Jio 4G launched, some of my pals shifted to Jio, but they are now back on Airtel Echosystem.😆😆
Same! We never shifted to jio even after it's free offers.
Same. Jio is cheap because the service is shit. I was getting less than 100kbps on Jio in Bangalore in 2020 and they told me the signal is good in the area. I switched to airtel, got above 50 Mbps in the same location and never looked back.
Real backbone of India's digitalization is Jio
I have sims from both Jio and Airtel. Idk why despite paying much less Jio speed is far ahead of Airtel 😅
I would love to have Both of them, but I thank Jio for bringing revolution in India ❤.
The nightmare of data worry is gone 😊.
Thank you Ambani ji and jio to make internet affordable ❤
I used Airtel for over 10 years and I decided to change to JIO in 2019, I taught I made that decision, but now I know that Airtel made it for me
Here according to me... jio has clear advantage.. they have way better strategy compared to airtel... because average income would eventually increase. The edge jio hold is that... they have deeper pockets and that no one can deny..
15:50 Airtel Provides Internet Connectivity to Jio headquarters at Ghansoli. My uncle used to work at Airtel as a Service Engineer he used to visit at Jio headquarters for Services because Airtel have best quality material for Network Hardware
How about Jio Fiber revenue? I shifted from Vodafone to Jio and then got another Jio portable internet dongle. I now have jio fibre too. Many users around me are shifting to Jio Fiber.
All in all, Jio helped internet and network be budget friendly to Indians.
I use jio sim and Airtel fiber 😂 because I majorly use fiber so I didn't wanted any interruptions in that so got the Airtel also jio fiber wasn't available in my area that was major factor too and as I just use sim card only when I travel so I don't really need good network etc so jio cheaper plans works really fine and sometimes even better than Airtel
@thinkschool did I miss the collaboration of airtel with one Webb to provide outer-net for customers or you missed that 😅 I watched it to know about the space technology airtel going to bring to India 🇮🇳
Satellite based internet is a different ball game for which Jio will arm twist the government to make the rules in it's favor.
fun fact: Airtel didn't survive the Jio wave on its own, jio just allowed Airtel to survive.
How exactly..?
How ??
because jio have deep pockets they can simply come one day and say from tomorrow we are launching a recharge of .....let say 110 per month for unlimited calls and unlimited data....and keep it up for 2-3 years and reliance have enough funds to support that............most of the broadband companies and telecom companies will vanish...........but I hope that will never happen because govt will never allow such tactics.......
@@factunplugged That's true that they have deep pockets. But do you know how many businesses and subsidiaries they own. I think that they are going to become like tata. But this guy's statement that "jio allowed airtel" I mean ambanis are businessmen not a bully.
@@vinaykk99 yes in this prospect you are correct
Being a Telecom professional I'm against Jio because it finished competition, by announcing free data in it's initial stages to gain subscriber base, but I agree it has a strong business plan.
For those who think Airtel was charging more for 2G/3G depends on the Network hardware. Using 4G hardware is way cheaper than maintaining the legacy ones. That's why Jio is targeting Dark home category.
And I don't want to go into the political aspects!
don't forget airtel posting profits when they bought their electoral bonds and conveniently divided the entire market into a duopoly between themselves and jio. vodafone jaye bhaad main.
