I know someone personally who got locked up with her husband for a week and was finally let go after sitting there a week and when they went to court the DA told the woman since you didn’t have anything on you and the drug paraphernalia was on your husband we will drop your charges if you sign this giving permission to use your cash bond for his fines. I was flabbergasted lol a whole week in jail for paraphernalia on a cash bond never in trouble before. Pickens county really will make up charges and when you go to court they will figure out a way to drop the charges while they still come out on top making money. This is a simple fix. Make the officer responsible for the 1st 250K of a lawsuit. So if there's 1 million dollar payment, the officer would have to pay 250K and the Municipality being responsible for the remaining 750K. I know someone personally who got locked up with her husband for a week and was finally let go after sitting there a week and when they went to court the DA told the woman since you didn’t have anything on you and the drug paraphernalia was on your husband we will drop your charges if you sign this giving permission to use your cash bond for his fines. I was flabbergasted lol a whole week in jail for paraphernalia on a cash bond never in trouble before. Pickens county really will make up charges and when you go to court they will figure out a way to drop the charges while they still come out on top making money. It’s sad, Pickens county needs to fire everyone and start over.

He inadvertently captured a horrific police crime in progress as well as uncovered a blatantly unbelievably corrupt police department making up serious felony charges. This is a simple fix. Make the officer responsible for the 1st 250K of a lawsuit. So if there's 1 million dollar payment, the officer would have to pay 250K and the Municipality being responsible for the remaining 750K. Trust me I was a Correction Officer for 25yrs and 250K would devastate myself and my family. Money is the biggest deterrent. No amount training can stop this abuse of power.

As a black man my I also thought it was beautifully answered. 1 because when it’s taken to court if them pushing for racially motivated abuse without evidence weakens the case 2 it makes harder for the defense to find jurors in their favor because it makes more broadly relatable to everyone.
