When she brought that guy onstage to do "Rope Burn," it was the funniest, sexiest, best concert moment I have ever seen. And she picked the perfect guy . . . he played to the crowd like you wouldn't believe. Even Janet had trouble staying in "sexy mode" and not laughing! That was the best 2 1/2 hrs of entertainment I've ever seen.

I like discipline, but oh my god, 20 Y.O and Damita Jo were janet's most underrated albums in my opinion. they both would have been so huge, but both were completely blacklisted and wiped out because of janet's super bowl, it was terrible how the media treated her, the songs, just a little while and all nite stop from damita jo would have easily been janet's 11th and 12th number one hits had they not been blacklisted.
What makes Janet so unique is her ear and love for all kinds of music...from Joni Mitchell to Brazilian Jazz and that she knows and can spot a reference because she is so well versed in subcultures. She wanted this to pay homage to the club kids and drag queens of the 80s. Ugh! I can't wait for her to tell her story...it will change everything. This woman attended Studio 54 as a child and thought people were putting flour up their noses. Whew!
By Far one of the greatest music videos I have ever seen! Everything is perfect. The fact that the whole film is not cut/edited is mind blowing. It just shows again how much effort was put to create that video. Years ago, when I once had cable TV, I was fortunate enough to come across this video on a music channel; it never left my mind. Discipline is an underrated gem.
Janet is never underrated. Every video got better and better.
I like discipline, but oh my god, 20 Y.O and Damita Jo were janet's most underrated albums in my opinion. they both would have been so huge, but both were completely blacklisted and wiped out because of janet's super bowl, it was terrible how the media treated her, the songs, just a little while and all nite stop from damita jo would have easily been janet's 11th and 12th number one hits had they not been blacklisted.

What makes Janet so unique is her ear and love for all kinds of music...from Joni Mitchell to Brazilian Jazz and that she knows and can spot a reference because she is so well versed in subcultures. She wanted this to pay homage to the club kids and drag queens of the 80s. Ugh! I can't wait for her to tell her story...it will change everything. This woman attended Studio 54 as a child and thought people were putting flour up their noses. Whew!
My first thought when I heard this was that it sounds so 80s! I didn't know it was an homage to 80s club culture. Now I get it!

By Far one of the greatest music videos I have ever seen! Everything is perfect. The fact that the whole film is not cut/edited is mind blowing. It just shows again how much effort was put to create that video.
Years ago, when I once had cable TV, I was fortunate enough to come across this video on a music channel; it never left my mind. "Discipline" has to be one of Janet's finest eras or masterpieces. Her creativity is mind blowing and it's a damn shame America didn't get to witness or enjoy the talent it's been bless with, once again, because of it's backwards/puritan mentality. How many time has this society slept on fine artistry because the artist in question dared push the envelop and/or had a different opinion?

She was a part of it yes along with Madonna. Still Janet was mostly known for her dancing and as the one that was going to give the best dance performance of her time. She kind of paved the way for a lot of the artist of today and the gen before. Now what people sleep on Janet about is she had some of the best slow jams.
