Each and every week I will cover the upcoming UFC event and choose three fights from the event and talk about the 6 fighters involved currents card prices and predict where prices will head in the future whether it will be up or down.
    I will also talk about my PC items and recent buys and dive in to why i bought that cards.
    This weeks episode is focused on the comparison and differneces i can find with UFC sports cards that are $500+. Using Card Ladder I take a look at Topps and Panini Golds, Ruby's, Greens and 1/1's.
    UFC sports cards are some of the nicest cards in the hobby and Iam hoping to spread the awesomeness with these videos.

    Man the Colby that sold for 2k 🤕that one hurts if they kept that.
    I like the idea of printing plates but I’m with you the image is so muddled I’m not a huge fan.
    On the Nunes Topps VS Panini. I’m almost always going with the older card, unless it’s an awesome image Panini used.
    Great vid 🤙🏻

      Haha i know right, considering his RC is back in 2015 this one was a high price for debut select.
      Not surprised to hear we agree on the Topps stuff, Nunes has some really cool images on her cards. If you haven't seen it check out the Topps Knockout for her from 2014.

    I bought that 2017 Ronda Rousey

      Hello 👋
      I bought it both as a long term investment & as a collector interest
      I’m keeping all my high end cards in the bank safe for the next 10-20 years
      I’ve picked my top 6 fighters that will be the Mikey Mantles & Babe Ruth’s of UFC
      George St Pierre , Anderson Silva , Conor MacGregor, Nate Diaz , Ronda Rousey , & Royce Gracie
      The thing many beginners don’t understand is buying cards like GSP 2022 autos is a waste & will not go up in value
      Same with Ronda & Royce Gracie
      I studied the history of the baseball & football card top players
      You have to get the cards when they were actually fighting & popular
      For Royce Gracie is the exception, but you should only buy 2009-2010

    • @dougtrvl888
      @dougtrvl888 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also have a lot of Conor cards 4 hard card autos from 2013-2014 all PSA 9
      And lots of GSP autos from 2010 , 2015 , & multiple chrome 2017-2018 auto all PSA 9 & 10
      My cream de la cream is a 1/1
      GSP auto gold 2017 Topps now PSA 10
      Technically not a Superfractor or chrome , but only 1/1 !!!

    • @dougtrvl888
      @dougtrvl888 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a lot of thoughts from the boss , dual autos with Dana White & GSP , three of these in PSA 9.
      Anderson Silva , Ronda Rousey, Royce Gracie & Nate Diaz with Dana White all in PSA 9
      Nate Diaz , BGS 9.5 auto 10

    • @Maineventcards
      @Maineventcards  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dougtrvl888 Thanks for sharing! And yes that list definitely is not short on candidates. As for who it will be, only time will tell.. UFC is just a unique sport its really hard to predict. But i agree whoever it is, that it's the fighter's earlier cards (first 1-2 years) that you want to hold onto as someone who is buying as a long term value hold or investment. The only exception to that rule would possibly be a card from a first year of a massive set like Chrome or Prizm.
      Thanks again mate!

    Am I seeing this correctly?
    Khamzat Chimaev #1/5 Green Disco PSA 10 sells April 28 2023 for $6K
    Same card previously sold RAW Feb 13 2022 for $6.8K ?

    • @Maineventcards
      @Maineventcards  ปีที่แล้ว

      Just checked up for you again, So the raw that sold Feb 16th 22, was actually the green disco. but yes selling for 6.6k. while the true green psa 10 selling recently for 6k. Just goes to show the difference in market just now comparing to last year!

    • @sp123
      @sp123 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ronda's first card is the 2012 Topps Finest UFC auto, it was an extended part of the checklist inserted one per every few cases like Victor Wembanyama's auto in Bowman Chrome University. 2012 Bloodlines is her second card ever made, but it is the first rookie card in a regular checklist.

    Sean O'Malley cards to me personally are in a weird place to buy right now because if he wins the belt they are going to skyrocket and it would be a very wise pick up or investment to buy now but if he loses his next fight they may drop and not even be worth what you paid. Obviously it's like that for every fighter but for Sean and with his hype and fan base it's different. You said you will own that card one day, depending on how much faith you have in Sean it may be wise to get it before he fights for the belt

    • @Kane6676
      @Kane6676 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not every fighter. Some fighters can lose and still go up. Connor and Brock are two that come to mind. It all comes down to how well known they are outside of mma circles.

      Hey mate, This is my daily dilemma right now! I completely agree. If he wins than i will never afford some saved searches i have of his cards. So i'm having massive fomo right now and wanna buy at least one before Aug 19th. But i can't decide on which one and as you mentioned if he loses then I can buy multiple for the amount of the one.
      I'lll be devasted if he loses but happy to pick up his cards at good prices as a silver lining.

      @Kane6676 Obviously fighters like that that already established a name in the game and left a mark in the history of The UFC. We know they are not just hype.I am talking about ones that are up and coming and supposed to be the next big thing but have not done anything yet like Sean, Khamzat etc. Like look at the Khamzat card that sold for a fortune, imagine if he loses his next fight or works up a title shot and loses

    • @Matty_Mac
      @Matty_Mac ปีที่แล้ว

      He will have to probably loose at some point @Kane6676 & @ufccardtalk7829 but so what? Unless your Khabib you'll have to deal with a lose or two and return and rise, it's the game and a long one in MMA. Dude is 29 and 12-0, Sean O'Malley is 29 soon and is 16-1?I just get the feeling that people want Khamzat to loose, more so now cause he has 'turned heel', but his record is pretty solid going forward, he's a beast.
      UFC card collectors can be very short sighted if they are just looking at the next win or lose to determine a fighters worth and career, that annoys me, that's just gambling and quick flips. Unlike other sports, MMA is a long game and careers are built for success. If Robbie Lawler had of listened to all the knockers, he never would of eventually held UFC gold!

    • @Maineventcards
      @Maineventcards  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Matty_Mac I don't disagree with what you're saying Matty other than suggesting my opinion was short sighted.
      But what at least my point was is that if Khamzat loses one of his next few fights than the hype in him (unbeatable) and his hobby value will take a massive hit. I can't name another fighter who has the consistent high sale value that Khamzat does that has also never held a belt.
      Are you saying that if and when he loses he will still have cards selling for thousands?
      To your point Khabib and Khamzat probably have similar market value although you can not yet compare their careers.
      And I don't understand your comparison with O'malley either? are you comparing them with careers and card pricing thus far or? O'malley's card value is no where near the value of Khamzat.

    • @Matty_Mac
      @Matty_Mac ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Maineventcards I agree with you, that Khamzat’s cards will probably take a hit, I just don’t understand necessarily that it has to that much, certainly not to a massive scale, all because he looses a fight, his first one at that. The hobby explosion from 21 has certainly helped him and his value being a rookie then. It feels like we (the hobby) build it up to then rip it back down at the sign of failture, that’s the card game I spose as well. My opinion is both looking at the fighter and cards that represent them. Khamzat cards still should have strong value even if he looses his next fight IMO, that’s all really (but most likely not reality).
      Not trying to disrespect yourself D or anyone, my apologies if you felt that way, was not my intention. My comment of being ‘short sighted’ was not directed at you personally at all. It was to state people can give up on a fighter if he loses or even jump on if he or she wins, back and forth. That can’t determine a fighter’s real worth, that’s just speculation. It’s takes years sometimes for a person to shine.
      The Khabib statement was simply to say he was undefeated, and that’s almost impossible to achieve, so all fighters will have looses. The fact that Khamazt hasn’t had one yet is awesome, but it shouldn’t be apocalyptic when he does.
      My comparison with Sean O’Malley was just to show how similar and young these guys are, both have great records up to this point, including wins streaks, awesome fighters, great potential. But they both have more to achieve, gold to hold!
      Because cards and collecting involves money and value, some people who speculate and quick flip want winners, people want profit, people want today and now and yesterday. I spose I’m just sticking up more so for the fighter and how that should translate to their card value, but this is not the case, and I do know that. Wish it was different.
      Was trying to leave robust some comments but it may have been misunderstood. Hope this clarify it a bit. Thanks

    • @Kane6676
      @Kane6676 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Matty_Mac you are right but we are strictly talking about cars value. The issue with Khamzat is that his image has been built as this unstoppable bad ass that will mow down everyone in his path. Once that myth is gone, what does he have left? Hes not a great talker like colby or Connor, there are no shortage of fighters now with same background as him, so he just becomes another face in the crowd. Look how Paddy”s value tanked just from having a close fight.
