- This week I watched A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) for the first time and talked about my experience. I used the Whiteboard this week to help me jot down some ideas too!

I was in the fourth grade when this movie came out. I was terrified. I remember my older brother reaching across my uncle who took us to see the movie reached around grabbed me during the movie and yelled Freddy's going to get you! I screamed at the top of my lungs and ran out of the theater. He tortured me constantly with my fear of Freddy. Years later my daughter at the age of eight wanted to see the original nightmare on elm Street. Reluctantly I sat with her to watch it thinking that I was going to be holding my little girl from her nightmares all night. I felt like such an idiot when she laughed hysterically at Tina being killed.😂
Thats hilarious haha its kind of like the Exorcist. People that saw it in the theaters say even today that its terrifying but younger people just don’t think of it as THAT scary. Its just how at the time everything was so new and interesting!
Yeah, this is even before he was on 21 Jump St. for us in the 80s. And of course, Edward Scissorhands.
Wes Craven could also be a direct sequel so to speak to NOES. Lots of parallels to the original given its a new spin in the horror genre at the time.
I fought Freddy Krueger in a dream once. Kicked his ass!
Hell yeah 😎
I got to see a double feature of this and Part 3 celebrating the 40th anniversary avdew weeks ago. I love these movies and they were a huge part of childhood sleepovers in the 80s and 90.
I bet sleepovers in the 80s were badass. Wish I could experience a week in the 80s just to see how it is!
Talking about Johnny Depp, he also played Edward "Sissor Hands" Hmmm?!?
Exactly right
I used to be obsessed with these films. Great video bro. I almost forgot Freddy Krueger existed since nobody has done anything with the Elm Street franchise in over 10 years
I know right! He’s one of the most popular in my eyes but people don’t really talk about him that much anymore it feels like
I still dream of him sometime. Keeping him alive in my imagination. Dont worry lol
And I keep seeing these posts of a prequel TV series called "Fred" by Rob Zombie, with DJ Qualls as Freddy. Then folks saying no, then yes, it's driving me insane lol!!!!
I’ll save you some time, 1,3 and 4 are the only ones worth watching.
And just because....Freddy vs Jason. Not because it's great, but because it's iconic lol. But otherwise, yes those are the only ones worth any time. Only watch all of them if you want the full body of work to see how they try to tie it all together. It's entertaining at the least if cheesy scary is your wheelhouse.
Freddy v Jason and Wes Cravens New Nightmare are worth watching
4 is the best
I was 13/14 when I first saw this and Heather Langenkamp (Nancy) was my first real childhood crush. I saw that film so many times. You should probably skip the 2nd one and go straight to the awesome 3rd one.
I have heard that the second one isnt that good

Part 2 soon? 🧐 🙏
Yes yes
Next week it’ll be out 🤞🏼
Could you put your text at the end on for a few seconds more for those of us with slow reading,... or a voice over would be great. All in all, I enjoyed your video.
Yeeah sorry I usually don’t do that, but I tried it and ended up not liking it that much. However, if I ever do it again I’ll make it longer! Thanks for the tip!
