    A Nightmare On Elm Street is one of the most greatest and scariest horror movies of all time. The story, performance's, music, images, astomphere, tension, and cinematography was so suspenseful, frightening, haunting, mysterious, thrilling, intense, eerie, creepy, and spooky 😰😱 which works perfectly for the movie. It really identifies and analyzes the boundaries between reality and fantasy. Heather Langenkemp and Robert Englund did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Nancy Thompson and Freddy Krueger as they both put tons of emotion and depth into their roles. It was decent. To this day the twist ending still gives me chills and goosebumps 😱😰 and I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old.😍😎💯👍

    I really need to see this because I've only seen the remake and everyone says it's crap in comparison
    EDIT: i watched it a year or two ago now, and Ive got a sorta mixed feeling. I prefer the original in terms of freddy himself. He just seems a lot less like an in your face child predator and more like an actual slasher. I also prefer the death scenes a lot more, they show off that freddy's an actual dream demon and not just some guy with knife hands.
    Literally the only thing I prefer in the newer one is the soundtrack and special effects. That's it lmao

    • @littlebadwolf8129
      @littlebadwolf8129 7 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      It is. Most remakes of the '80s horror movies are, but especially this one's. It stripped Freddy off of most of his traits, tastlessly exploited the pedophilia trait which in this original was tastefully left as a subtle undertone, and its execution just doesn't make sense, isn't emotionally captivating, and most of the lines given to Freddy are lame as fuck. I cqn't believe some of the worst made it into the trailer even. Seriously, you're lucky that you saw that 2010 remake first because - at least for a long time fan of this original- it was painful to sit through. I'm glad I read its original script through before it was released so I pretty much knew it would be shitty and didn't go see it in theaters. It's almost the polar opposite of this original when it comes to the characters, story and atmosphare. No offense, to anyone who likes the 2010 remake. Good for you, if you can enjoy it, if you see something in it that I don't. I personally just find it a poorly made horror film in itself and especially shitty as a "re-imagening' of this film.
      I do acknowledge, though, that my opinion is strongly biassed by my love of this original which was and is further strengthened by nostalgia. I mean, I would anyway think the remake to be crap but I wouldn't downright hate it as I do now. I don't think it ruined the original or my childhood/teen years or anything because it is just another movie...but...maybe my loathing for that remake mostly sources from how tastless I think exploiting pedophilia in that kind of entertainment purpose is. Like, that remake is all about it and not in the anti-pedophilia and semi-educational way like "Hard Candy" is.
      Not that this original needs any re-imagening/remaking, but if there must be them it at least deserves a respectful and tasteful one. Which is why I'm glad there'll be another one in the near future. I hope its creators learned from the other remakers numerous mistakes, and that the writer and director are passionate fans of this original. In my opinion it is the passion projects that usuallyturn out right.

    • @Gweem13
      @Gweem13 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I fully respect that. To me though, the remake has scared me since it came out. Mind you, the original does sound scarier, minus the ever so slight cheesiness of older slasher horror films. The pedophilia of freddy in the 2010 one is what scared me the most, but that's mainly because sexual assault is one of my biggest fears in the world. I need to see the original before I can make any final opinion of my own. Thank you for your in- depth opinion, as it makes the movie sound even more intriguing. I'll try to find a way to watch it, and I may post my opinion here afterwards. Thank you once again. ~DS

'Lets just clone something instead of making something original!!'. And the worst is, this is done on the daily and idïõts like you buy into it and keep the cycle going.
