No wonder Jim didn't mind getting rid of the pick up he had a huge gold nugget waiting for him, what a beauty of a Studebaker. I don't know if this will be controversial or not but I think ol Jim might should get a piece of the pie when he is on these vids. Maybe do some merch with his likeness and some of his sayings "I only have money because I don't spend it." Or when all else fails try a muffin. and then kick him 60% of sales $$$. He really does bring a lot to the shows.
Everyone thinks Jimbo is spaced out but that man builds everything with handmade parts smart man he's full of knowledge that most of our grandparents forgot love him and Chad both
We get a treat today ! We get to spend time with the legend the man the story teller Jim ! Hi 👋 Jim were listening! Great content for your show Jolene and Chad! It's always great fun to have Jim on ! He knows alot and there's always a story attached to it ! Yes if he had hiss own show he'd have success too ! Thumbs-up Jolene and Chad 👍
watching Jim talk about seating valves and then watching Chad get that look on his face is priceless. I have done many valve jobs including replacing the seats and guides and it is actually kind of easy. And I'm just a retired electrician.
robert Bills .hello to you . yes i like Jim very where a very aware of what's going on. He might look like a hippie but he's really intelligent. Someone who just read one of your text to chat and Jolene Helton. Bad Chance videos on a comment. From Flint Michigan
I saw a video from Jim yesterday on Facebook showing the floor he had already cleaned with the pressure washer. It was like watching a short prequel 😁👍
Hi Chad,A very knowledgeable gentleman, and if we all listen we will learn a lot, loved the conversation. The old 1917 Studebaker will be a great project to see completed. These cars/ trucks had a similar gear change to early Ford, not like later vehicles and control of speed was by a lever on the steering wheel if I remember correctly. My late mum was born a year before this vehicle, she was born 1916 and I remember her telling me how she used to drive similar vehicles from the farm to school at times.Other times she rode a horse to school. These old trucks were double clutch if my memory serves me correctly. Interesting listening to the conversation about grease.Learnt something today. Jim is a walking encyclopaedia. Thanks for your video.
My understanding is that a stainless steel swirl polished valves sodium filled with meridian valve seats bronze knurled guides is one of the better combinations for especially the types of engines you seem to be working with but all engines in general stainless steel valves hold up the bronze guides don't wear slots in them it gives a guy somewhere to repair something without having to replace both only bronze guides need replaced after that unless something is broken and make sure you use neoprene umbrella type seals not o-ring
jim's cool, i hope his concrete job goes well. maybe fill that ditch partially with gravel first, then do the cement. love his old studebaker, would love to see it in person, how they did stuff in the early days of autos. jolene's filming is, as always, excellent. carry on and batten down the hatches-fiona's on her way to you!
Don't use mixer an shovel back an forth Here's easier way Step one take sand in wheelbarrow Dump in area your doing Next put you're gravel in on sand Step 3 Take small tiler mix it with tiller Now Step 3 after if you're happy with sand an gravel Put cement in on you're sand an gravel Mix again with tiller Now that you're happy with color add Water mix it all again as needed For way you want you're concrete Take tiller out wash it off level it off Give it some time before striking it With broom if that's wat you want Be sure an strike mix as you need This will work an you won't have to Use vibrartor
wow, i never realized how tall those wheels were! Talk about ground clearance. That could come in handy on bad roads and in the snow. And what a great deal Jim got on it. Cant wait to see what he does with it.
Jim is a true treat! Reminds me of when I worked at a country gas station 55 years ago and the farmers would come in and sit and talk. Of course they would spend 30 cents for a soda and candy bar.
Keep an eye on him Jim, legend says The Champ carries a cordless zip cut in his back pocket like a switch blade, be careful he could pull it out and start chopping before you even knew what hit ya ! 😁✌
They introduced Potassium (K) into unleaded petrol as a soft metal substitute. This reduced wear and seating/ sealing problems around the valve seats. It also prevented valve chatter (most apparent in LPG run engines) 👍
Jim is a smart man, and i have had the pleasure of learning about a 27 studebaker. They were ahead of their time in some respects. Would be wonderful to watch his progress on it.
Had Jimbo been given the opportunity to go to a good college, i have no doubt he could have been a great asset to society as a scientist or engineer. He's got the smarts to do well.
Jim reminds me of a friend I had in the late 1970's and 1980's which knew a lot about fixing cars but drove me crazy at how slow he was on doing anything because he lived his short life medicated out. my friends name was Gary Scott that died in the late 1990's. Miss you buddy.
Jim found a project. Always good when Jim is in the house
@Hello Kitteh you seem like a polite one. Not! Smelly kitteh lol
Put a couple of pieces of rebar at the end of your first pour. Then the next pour will lock to the old one.
Jim’s just a ball of knowledge and he’s always funny as hell love listening to him

Don't use mixer an shovel back an forth
Here's easier way
Step one take sand in wheelbarrow
Dump in area your doing
Next put you're gravel in on sand
Step 3
Take small tiler mix it with tiller
Now Step 3 after if you're happy with sand an gravel
Put cement in on you're sand an gravel
Mix again with tiller
Now that you're happy with color add
Water mix it all again as needed
For way you want you're concrete
Take tiller out wash it off level it off
Give it some time before striking it
With broom if that's wat you want
Be sure an strike mix as you need
This will work an you won't have to
Use vibrartor

Jim is a smart man, and i have had the pleasure of learning about a 27 studebaker. They were ahead of their time in some respects.
Would be wonderful to watch his progress on it.
Gorilla marine glue would be good for the steering wheel. Don't forget to wet both sides with water before gluing. Will never break
Mr Jim, Maybe use washer and dryer metal cases and shape a tail out of wood for your race car. Might be a near conversion piece.
Love the channel when Jim's on it
wow what a great find I would love to get something like that
Had Jimbo been given the opportunity to go to a good college, i have no doubt he could have been a great asset to society as a scientist or engineer.
