- Former No. 2 overall pick Ryan Leaf joins the Dan Patrick Show and discusses which quarterbacks in this year's draft class he thinks can start in the NFL from day 1 as well as why he thinks Caleb Williams would benefit from sitting his first year in the NFL rather than starting from day 1

Bears should sit up and listen to Leaf. A guy who knows what it was like to be drafted early, given the keys to the team and not be ready for all that. I think he sees that in Williams.
No that is ridiculous. He doesn't need to sit at all. He is already NFL ready with no flaws in his game
Who is Ryan Leaf to talk? Epic failure on his resume 😂
@@RLZ01 No flaws? He's far from perfect and not a Mahomes.
Taking snaps under center is vastly overblown. Its done very little in college and many nfl teams do 80% of their snaps from shotgun. Ravens do 96%. Its basically just on sneaks or kneel downs for several teams.
Always love Leafs take.
I heard about this interview and I was about to come shit on Ryan Leaf but he’s absolutely right! Those sport shows really be taking parts and pieces to make folks look like a bad guy. Penix and Daniels are the best prospects in the draft and he’s the only one saying that.
Same on Dan Patrick. Why would you give Ryan Leaf air time? What did Leaf do? How is he credible?
The guy knows what he’s talking about, for all the mistakes he made when he was younger it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have valuable perspective now.
Facts
With all due respect Ryan Leaf the strongest arm in The Draft is Joe Milton
Penix to Commanders
JJ MCCARTHY IS BETTER
Doesn’t sound like #1 overall pick to me
It sounds Ryan Leaf doesn't know what he's talking about
This man is trippin. 2nd round talent for Maye?? 😂😂😂
I so agree! This is why the Bears need to trade the #1 pick and build around Justin
Yes lets build around the leagues 23rd rated passer who's injury prone and is the worse 4th quarter passer 😂
@@llamarre4 do you know what the meaning of building is!? That's why you add pieces around him. Then stats of course will improve. You don't go backwards by taking an unknown player that's 2-9 vs top 25 defenses 🤣
@@allcalibasketball3029 the Bears can add as much talent as they want until they’re as stacked as the 49ers. The reality is you still need a great QB to win you the Super Bowl
@@bostonsportsfan5346 they have a QB
@@allcalibasketball3029 and Justin fields is 0-22 when a team scores more than 21 points 😂 he has 6 sub 100 yard games and one 300 yard game 😭 he had 0 or 1 touchdown passes in 11/14 games 🤣 see how dumb you look when you cherry pick stats. Want to keep going bet I have more lol
The Bears have one option. Sign a QB and develop Caleb. It truly is the money/entitled hungry owners who can’t wait. What does Green Bay do ? Even Mahomes sat a year! The Bears know this. I want parody. The lions will go downhill fast. Trust me.
Bears better put in a call to Russ WIlson
I don’t like that plan. You don’t even know if you can develop Caleb.
@@allenboyer2207if they draft Caleb, they better do that.
Or keep Justin Fields and draft Caleb Williams. Make them go compete and may the best man win. Folks are forgetting that Chicago has the 9th pick. Get a receiver with that pick.
He taking pills again
He still on that crack.
I hope the Bears listen to Ryan Leaf... Caleb not tlike that!!! Keep Justin and stack the team
This is coming from one of the biggest NFL busts😂
Is this guy back on drugs?😂
Still played in the league and know what it’s like to be a high drafted pick stop shitting on people to make yourself feel better
Spoken like someone who hasn't done their homework. 70% of what Caleb did was out of necessity, not inability.
