Quebec is an amazing city, there is nothing like it in North America. July and August are the best months to visit if you like it warm. At the end of September, you'll get the fall's colors and amazing landscapes. Forget January it's the coldest month of the year.

''being so closed to the Arctic, it has cold long winters'' LOL we aint that close to the Arctic wtf?? Lots of European cities are actually much higher in latidude than Quebec City. The climate is colder just because it of a combination of winds, marine currents as well as the continental effect.

He had no idea what I meant. He said are you a French person who moved to Canada?..........i had to explain to him that the Province of Quebec is French. I gave him a condensed quick history lesson. He looked like a deer in the headlights. He had no idea what I was talking about. Very sad.

It is a wonderful city with much history, elegance and great cuisine. It helps to speak some French, as English not as widely spoken as in Montreal. The Montmorency Falls and the fjord to the north are worth taking in. In winter, the Winter Carnival with its Ice Bar and Ice Hotel are worth taking in, too. Many Americans do not travel this far Northeast, but it is a great slice of Europe sans the flight. Try to stY in a French inn or boutique hotel, and try to have a meal, drink or high tea at Chateau Frontenac. Just gazing at Rivier St Laurent on a lazy afternoon is magnificent as well. J'aime beaucoups le ville du Quebec!

Québec city is actually a very beautiful city and if you like outdoor activities (hiking, kayak, mountain bike, road bike, etc.) there are stunning places all around the city. At about an hour from the city, you also have Charlevoix which is also very beautiful, and the city isn't too far from the Fjord du Saguenay which is another wonderful place

Are Americans welcomed in Quebec City? Update: I took my family To Quebec city for three days… And we had a great time. Everyone was super friendly… and most spoke English as well as French. We stayed in the old part of town and it was breathtakingly beautiful. The food was delicious. Everything was great. We had the best time… Would definitely visit again.

I've heard same thing because god forbid you dont know french they treat you like garbage or ignore you. Here's the thi g a youtuber smt mainline he lives in Quebec dont know much french and his family speaks English.. I have also been told that when they come to the United States they expect to have things in French for them but yet they wouldn't do the same for us

    • @HelennaPierce

I'm from Quebec and our province has the most cultural diversity. A lot of people from different countries are moving to Quebec. Black people, asians, etc. Most people in Quebec nowadays can talk to you in both french or english so you should be just fine :) Racism is mostly present in the older generation. The elders are less keen on strangers, but we're nice I promise!
