First batch for Germany is said to have arrived this week and should ship out to customers ATM (mid Nov) Really excited to switch from the super noisy wahoo! 🤗 also, they lowered the price from initially 499 to 449 and immediately refunded the overpaid money but I think even at 499 it would have been a great deal.
My kickr core is on its 5th season ( got with your coupon just before covid) and thinking I should look into a replacement. Zwift cog seemed perfect. I've gone through two bikes and three shift groups, zwift looked to simplify maintenance. But I ride Rouvy so it's off the list!

Planning to sell my KICKR V5 as soon as I set it up and no more Wahoo afterwards.
I’m not sure I understand why a trainer company (or actually an app company) doesn’t make a clicker with an open standard. It’s not like there is any fancy technology in the clicker itself, it’s just sending clicks. In fact it could be configured to send the clicks to the trainer itself, and increase or decrease the resistance. The cog has no tech in it. Sure, Zwift will work better with their proprietary clicker, but how hard is it to swap out a clicker. What am I not getting here.
2:35 To be clear, the Zwift cog can be used with virtual shifting on platforms other than Zwift (e.g. indievelo/TPVirtual, ICtrainer simulation). However, the Zwift buttons are proprietary to Zwift, so you will have to use your smartphone, PC keyboard or DI2 buttons on other platforms. Or am I missing something?
Really impressive what they've done at an entry level price! I may need to get one. On a side note, why would Zwift want to open up virtual shifting to their competitors?
It makes the hardware an easier purchasing decision knowing you are not tied in to a single platform... even if you only zwift, who knows what the landscape will be like in 3 years' time?
@@jameseastwood402 They buyer can always put a cog on this JB Victory. I still don't see why Zwift would open virtual shifting. it's currently a competitive advantage.
@@jameseastwood402 Sure, but Zwift isn't about selling as many frames as possible, they're about selling frames to get subscribers, not to give them options to go elsewhere with their frame.
Maybe it's a good reason if you're a fan of another app. However it seems Zwift is promoting the Frame as a good reason to subscribe to Zwift. They don't seem to be trying to make money from the Frame and are just trying to drive subscriptions. If that's the case, then no reason to make an open standard.
Wanted one. Got tired of waiting for pre orders. Bought a Core. The DAY it was delivered, JB pre-orders opened again... but with deliveries estimated for the end of december... too late. oh well.
Mine is due to arrive in December. Anyone interested in a good deal on a Kickr V5? 😒 I'm surprised you make no mention of the Zwift Play Controllers, which I'll be using. I have a dedicated trainer frame so I'll be removing the SRAM derailleur and Wireless Blips to repurpose elsewhere. I have a chain tensioner that will replace the derailleur with the Zwift Hub.
i got one of the first batches. if it didn’t have wifi connect i would have returned it as the bluetooth is a bit glitchy on mine. which means i have a turn block that i can’t use as apple tv doesn’t have enough connections. upside is i do enjoy the virtual shifting
Yes we found an early issue on our first batch. We have since updated the Antenna giving a stronger signal. If you have issues our support team can quickly fix this.
Just had first Zwift race on this after selling my Kickr 18. Ride feel exactly the same as far as I can tell. Zwift cog and virtual shifting works great. Only thing I couldn’t work out was how to enable race mode? I think it was based on your video saying power was moving rapidly but be nice to know. I asked JetBlack the same question. They replied that in the US they have a direct to consumer distribution model. In Canada they sell through a distributor who sells through retailers, each adding a markup. The marketing manager who made that decision is seemingly geographically challenged enough to not know that approximately 90% of Canadians live within 150 miles of the US. For me it’s 60 miles. I will have one shipped to a friend south of the border and pick it up next time we visit. We then won’t have to change bikes when my wife wants to use the trainer.
The business model US to CAD is different but also the duties and import system is different from the US. If you compare with the AUS dollar it is much closer to
@@RetroracerDB1 Hi, I'm likely the person who replied to you so I thought I would post my reply here for everyone benefits. Wherever you choose to buy your Victory, I'm sure you will have a great time training with theis fantastic trainer. Out of the message below, I think that the 499$US to 899$CAD Wahoo Kick Core Zwift One hightlights the best that our pricing is clearly in line with what our competitors are doing and how the Canadian market is not strictly about exchange rate conversion when importing low volume. You might also want to look at duty and taxes you will pay if you properly delcare your purchase. We have been the Canadian distributor of Jetblack for many years. In the US, Jetblack is selling directly to consumer only (no sales through any dealers). They have certainly taken a very aggressive approach with their pricing. In Canada, we have built a large network of retailers that have been crucial in our development and offering the best customer service available. We intend to maintain that network of retailers since we believe this greatly improves the quality of service to the consumer. Other international markets are more aligned with the Canadian pricing. Also, there is more than the exchange rate impacting the cost of a product: • Custom charges vary from the country of provenance and can represent charges up to 20% and can vary in the USA • Shipping cost (since we import a lot less than the US market, we face higher cost per unit) • Distribution structure (direct, distributor, retailers, etc.) can impact the cost of a product • Overall cost of shipping in Canada is more expensive than USA and European countries. • Financing rates, etc. The closest competitor, Wahoo Kickr Core Zwift One sells at 499$USD but is 899$CAD in Canada. This is very much aligned the Victory pricing. Now you can imagine that Wahoo as a much larger production volume than Jetblack and will benefit from much larger economy of scale. The Victory also comes with 2 free months of Zwift (worth 50$). The Jetblack Victory is still the most affordable Zwift Ready model available on the Canadian market. Not to mention it offers unique feature (wi-fi connection, 10hz race mode, etc.). We wish we could offer a better pricing on the Canadian market, but our reality is different than other distributors.
Sold my Kickr Core One in mid October to buy one of these... Not realising the 6 week wait time. Currently getting fat (uk winter) whilst i await delivery 🤣
Kickr Core has a power wobble issue in Zwift vShift mode with unusual gearing ratios (such as if using the small chainring on a 36-26 2x MTB) - the power feel and readout keep noticeably fluctuating throughout the ride as if the trainer keeps trying and failing to auto-calibrate. Does Victory have the same issue?
$800 in Canada plus 13% tax, so $904 for me. $399USD plus $30 shipping + some US tax = about $645 Cdn. ( shipped to a US address) Two months of swift included in Canada Net difference about $100 more in Canada.
Cheaper than the wahoo and cheaper than any other options out there. Duties and taxes are different in Canada and shipping cost country wide are very different from the US. Compared to the Aussi Dollar CAN is on pace Good luck shipping it back to the US if you have issues
I have arthritis and am finding the manual shifting on my bike getter harder and harder. Is the pressure required to change the gears on the Click soft or hard?
Anybody know if you can pair two Zwift Clicks at the same time? On my tri bike, I want one on the extensions and one on the bullhorns, just like my regular electronic shifting.
Hi Ray, how cumbersome is it to switch bikes with different dropout widths, i.e. from 130mm to 142mm? I'm guessing there's an adapter, but does it take long to install?
Would you be able to use the Zwift cassette with a Campy 11 speed groupset? chain tolerances would be the sticker but would mean you are not limited to them releasing a Campy cassette hub.
Hey Ray, how loud is the freehub? My current trainer one is super loud and that's basically what's preventing me from using it at night (it's next to my son's bedroom...).

If you’re really THE Tony Simmonds from JetBlack. Kudos to you for taking the time to respond to TH-cam comments 👍🏼
@@josiahh6338 yes it is really me :)
Germany: Ordered mid-september - Victory was announced for 15th October - announced 3 week delay - requested a delivery update: it should have been in the harbor of Rotterdam by 9th November and got sent to customers past Tuesday/ Wednesday...
But nothing yet.. not even a parcel number :(
Not the best customer experience so far
Fik samme besked for en uge siden da jeg bad om en update.
Franz, I will personally follow up with our German distribution partner on the communication. I am sorry that this has not been up to standard.
Primarily a runner but looking to add cross training for low impact endurance training. Delivery Jan or Feb I suppose, after I ordered today... Thanks.
Been waiting for this 🎉
2:20 which bike hangers are these? They look fantastic 😍
SteadyRack, they’re awesome. I did a few sponsored videos with them a few years ago, but equally also bought them before it. Super cool system.
Thx for the info! @@Dcrainmaker
Epic review as ever
You can just swap out the Zwift Cog for a standard cassette and ride ALL platforms
Is it climb or rizer compatible? Does the axle pivots?
Not compatible with climb or riser.
1:20 Magic. Also 1:30 Hi Bobbie!
Preordered as soon as I watched GPLama's review (Oct 8th) the only thing I didn't like was the additional £15 flat-rate shipping.
According to a shipment update email they've sent on the 22nd, it's slightly delayed and will land around first week of December to the UK port.
Planning to sell my KICKR V5 as soon as I set it up and no more Wahoo afterwards.
I got the same email, no new updates yet. Kickr V4 packed in last month so itching to get this installed.
Thanks for jumping in and pulling the trigger.
Unless Zwift supports it, it’d be dead in the water, unfortunately.
@@cbenson513 indeed it doesn't matter for this trainer, but it's a good reason not to buy a Zwift frame.
I have ordered for what is now end of December. Let's see how it goes. How about the virtual shifting in non-Zwift apps using QZ app ?
So much info here ❤. However what's the sound at 2:02?
Sadly missed the first wave preorder window, but have my name down for whenever they get wave 2 started.
Wanted one. Got tired of waiting for pre orders. Bought a Core. The DAY it was delivered, JB pre-orders opened again... but with deliveries estimated for the end of december... too late. oh well.
impressive how quiet it is!
@ Cheers Murray.
Just an update, Got hold of support and actually ended up chatting with Murray and all got sorted. Well done jet black. 👍
Am holding out for this trainer. Sounds to good not to and the current zwift hub is ok until October so can wait.
At last trainers are getting affordable. Thanks for the review.
Andy, accessible performance is what JetBlack is all about.
Great review thanks 👍👍
Boemmmm shakalaka boemmmm this will be my new trainer 🎉
Good choice ;)
Just had first Zwift race on this after selling my Kickr 18. Ride feel exactly the same as far as I can tell. Zwift cog and virtual shifting works great. Only thing I couldn’t work out was how to enable race mode? I think it was based on your video saying power was moving rapidly but be nice to know. Bought this after your earlier review and GP Llamas, thanks so much
Great review. FYI - Jet Black will NOT work with an Inside Ride: E-Flex motion rocker system. May need to check on other rocker types too. That is if you're into these sort of things.
They have a really sweet rocker plate that just got launched
I have mine on order due to arrive in the Uk the first week of December, is it compatible with Zwift play controls ?
Yes, fully.
if I only use the trainer in ERG mode, I can use the Zwift cog on any platform, right?
Correct.
Thanks Ray! Did it come with the correct thru axle adaptor for the new Aeroad? And what about other bikes, like an Endurace?
I bought one late in Oct they said delivery would be late Dec or early Jan. Trying to buy the front jetblack turn platform but apparently they are out of stock
David, aiming to have turn blocks into northern hemisphere markets in the next few months.
Nice review. Already preordered since they opened up again in EU. Is this compatible with the elite square smart frame?
In theory it should be compatible with frame, but in reality we’ll have to see.
@Dcrainmaker ok thx, do you plan an in depth review of the elite square?
@@YouNiqueAphex Yes, once it's out. But, in hearing from Elite in the last day or so, it sounds like it's been delayed a few months into early next year.
@@Dcrainmaker Ah damn, looks like I have to keep up with my spare bike for a bit longer. Will probably wait until your review drops.
Jetblack is great, I see there is also 4 point rocker plate that looks interesting. Going to be looking at that anytime soon?
Great trainer.
Only problem is that it is not available for purchasing.
We are humbled by the overwhelming response to our new Victory. We are working as hard as we can to scale to meet demand. Thanks for hanging in there for one. Best way is to pre register your interest on our website and we will send out notifications as production batches become available.
@tonysimmonds9660 Hello,
I registered many times for 2 months with my email address without receiving any notification.
Wait List seems not efficient to get any feedback.
I ultimately gave-up and purchased the wahoo even if the spec of the Victory seems more attractive.
Rgds.
@tonysimmonds9660 Hello,
I registered many times for 3 months on the Wait List without receiving any notification. Seems like the this registration has no effect.
That´s why, despite the good specification of the Victory I ultimately purchased the Wahoo.
Rgds
Ray, just to confirm, it is compatible with a 12 speed cog? It says it is compatible with 8-12 gears on page 4 of the manual.
Thanks
Yup, that’s a 12sp cog I put on it. :)
Finally, a decent trainer that costs less than the bike I'll be using it with!
Kickr better heavily discount their Core or it's dead.
Hey sir, thanks for the detailed review .. appears you are running a SRAM crankset .. any noise or cassette compatibility with the 12-speed flattop chain?
TIA
Indeed, running SRAM 12sp on Shimano cassette. It’s not super quiet, but didn’t bug me. It’ll work till they have the native XDR free hub available in January.
Does it also work with rim brake bikes too?
How does $399 USD come to $799 CAD, yikes! At around $575 it would be an easy choice. For me, it's tough to pick this over the Elite Avanti at the same price point. Hopefully that review is coming. Thanks Ray. Btw, watched entire on TH-cam TV but I can only comment on the iOS app. 😀
Saris H3 Plus currently on sale in Canada for about $560
The business model US to CAD is different but also the duties and import system is different from the US.
Also, there is more than the exchange rate impacting the cost of a product:
• Custom charges vary from the country of provenance and can represent charges up to 20% and can vary in the USA
• Shipping cost (since we import a lot less than the US market, we face higher cost per unit)
• Distribution structure (direct, distributor, retailers, etc.) can impact the cost of a product
• Overall cost of shipping in Canada is more expensive than USA and European countries.
Thanks for your support and hanging in there. Hopefully you will have yours soon!
@tonysimmonds9660 not a complaint at all. Annoyed at myself for rushing into selling my old turbo
Is this the same one as the decathlon one? D100
No Abel, very different units with difference specifications and features.
After this video, wait list will be even longer. Now how do I order one without my wife knowing
Order one for her too ;)
Can you point me towards the fan we can see in the background of this video?
Ironically enough, JetBlack’s fan.
Do they ship to Singapore?
Thanks for your interest in Victory. Unfortunately not shipping to Singapore but have plans to do so in the future.
My victory seems to have wifi issues. Losing connection and getting no signal once a ride.
Hello, please reach out to Jetblack support. We can help you sort this issue quickly.
@ I have and they referred me to their Canada counter part and now we’re stalled as the Canada counter part needs to reach out to JetBlack…
( shipped to a US address)
Two months of swift included in Canada
Net difference about $100 more in Canada.
Cheaper than the wahoo and cheaper than any other options out there.
Duties and taxes are different in Canada and shipping cost country wide are very different from the US. Compared to the Aussi Dollar CAN is on pace
Good luck shipping it back to the US if you have issues
Mines on order 1st batch into uk
I have arthritis and am finding the manual shifting on my bike getter harder and harder. Is the pressure required to change the gears on the Click soft or hard?
Roughly the same as pressing a TV remote control button. Maybe a smidge firmer.
Anybody know if you can pair two Zwift Clicks at the same time? On my tri bike, I want one on the extensions and one on the bullhorns, just like my regular electronic shifting.
Not possible (at this point).
Excellent review. How is the performance of Zwift cog with SRAM flat chains, any concerns?
No problem. All of my tests were 12 and 13sp SRAM drive chains.
the price for canada is crazy, i have the kikr core and it's great also wahoo support is fantastic.
Hi Ray, how cumbersome is it to switch bikes with different dropout widths, i.e. from 130mm to 142mm? I'm guessing there's an adapter, but does it take long to install?
Will the singular cog (instead of the cassette) wear a chain faster?
Would you be able to use the Zwift cassette with a Campy 11 speed groupset? chain tolerances would be the sticker but would mean you are not limited to them releasing a Campy cassette hub.
Sick new Aeroad! How do you like it?
It's great! Though, hasn't ventured out much yet.
Hey Ray, how loud is the freehub? My current trainer one is super loud and that's basically what's preventing me from using it at night (it's next to my son's bedroom...).
