If it says "use sonar to uncover" it just means you haven't yet had a scan that has (at least partially) completed that requirement. If you hover over the discovered requirements it also tells you exactly how many tiles of eg snow you need for it to be met.
Precipitation is more effective at washing away land than water bodies, infact it might increase toxicity of water by carrying pollutants into water bodies, in real life most of it flows into the oceans which dilutes it making it less of an issue.
I think it even told you in the intro that the environment would need to be warmed, cleaned, then frozen again, but this worked anyway lol The animal scanning makes sense. Narwhals have THREE requirements. You have enough ocean, you have enough ice. So the next step is to find requirement 3
You're not alone. It turns out a great deal of people still think narwhals are mythical animals! And you're right again, as belugas and narwhals CAN cross-breed and there are living hybrids in the wild right now!
That’s apparently very common, thinking narwhals are myths. They’re definitely weird enough, but there are way stranger animals once you start looking.
This game seems really interesting! I didn’t want to buy it though since it isn’t my typical type of game. I just learned that it came out for Netflix subscribers on mobile! So I’m playing now! Awesome game!
The way you were struggling to melt snow, and didn't even LOOK at the solar amps had me dying. For the variant polar level, you don't have a choice lol, and they melt a much larger area than the power plants.
"...and that messed with my lichen?" no. rails messed with your lichen, you can see it go down at 36:03 right when you place a rail. It seems like it can be lichen, or it can support structures. just not both.
Fun fact: narwhals and belugas CAN interbreed, the result is called a narluga and they appear to inhabit a different niche than either of their parent species
Narwhal may have wanted to be near the penguins/other prey, as they are predators. Since no land tiles happens at 46:00 and he was over kelp a few times. Not sure on this one, as he was also at least near the penguins at one point.
Haven’t finished the video so you might find this out. But it looks like lava (or water in some cases) takes some time to spread. So waiting a bit before deciding to undo is sometimes smart
Also the animal territories look like they can’t overlap. (Part of the scan is red if you are trying to scan in an area that already has animals there.) so even if it’s a perfect area for something, if you’ve already put a different animal there it will not have access to enough tiles
Really enjoying this game and your play through is really relaxing. You whales 🐋 need -10c. Melting the snow first helps, upping the temperature then dropping the temperature works best. 😊
If it was that fast and easy to restore the worlds biomes without making it harder for humanity... (though I guess in this game hardly any humanity is left).

22:40 "Aurora Borealis!? At this time of the recovery effort, at this time of the game, in this specific scenario!?" "Yes." "May I see it." "Yes!"
I needed to see this in the comments, you saved me the effort. ♥

I think requirement three was being cold
@@haggisllama2630 I think it was 0 land, in every scan he had at least 1 tile of land, so that's the only thing I can think of
nope, I was wrong, its the temperature, the land tile thing was just a coincidence. So it has to be below X degrees Celsius , I assume 0
Yeah, the hint was it had to be 'COLD' oceans. I think if it said 'FRIGID' oceans (i.e. below zero) it might have made for a better hint.
You're not alone. It turns out a great deal of people still think narwhals are mythical animals!

Really hoping to see more of this. Saw this game back in its early prototypes and it's been so solid and wholesome all the way
don't know if you've solved this already, but the narwhal needs 20 tiles of oceans, at least 4 sheets of ice, and a -10 degrees temp.
i think for the narwhals it wasn't cold enough, as it says COLD WATERS in adition to ice and ocean
I think for the narval you needed to have no ground like the whale in the island level
You know its good when wander contests his goty before the game is even out xD
This game is great. I know you don't like replaying games too often, but I would love to see you play it more.
I put quite a few hours into the demo, even though it was just 1 level. Can't wait to play through the whole game!

Narwhals, narwhals
Swimming in the ocean
Causing a commotion
'cause they're pretty awesome
They're the jedi of the sea, they stop ct'hulu eating ye!

I think for the narwhal you needed even lower temperature?
Yeah Blitz only found them once he got the temperature down to -10°C.
This is fun to listen to while doing schoolwork in the background
Agreed - so invoking! The first time it rained shook me

YEAYYYY ANOTHER TERRA NIL VID
man i love your channel. i would have never gave so many of these indy games a chance if wasnt for you.
Fun fact: narwhals and belugas CAN interbreed, the result is called a narluga and they appear to inhabit a different niche than either of their parent species
I found out Narwals were real a few years ago as well. Thought they were like Unicorns lmao.

Narwhal needs the temperature to be below -10 degrees.

Narwhals used to be hunted a lot for their horn so traders could sell them as unicorn horns for a ridiculous cost.
You didn't try lowering the temperature for the Narwhals.
*leaves the artic biome in above freezing temperatures.
I'm sure it's fine
Wander saw The Last Unicorn and thought the narwhals were something they made up for the plot.
Is it FRESH and/or DEEPLY CUSTOMIZABLE?
I think you didn't get narwhals because it was too warm. Ten degrees C is too warm for narwhals.
Really enjoying this game and your play through is really relaxing. You whales 🐋 need -10c. Melting the snow first helps, upping the temperature then dropping the temperature works best. 😊
This game is going to cure my depression, I can just tell
Loving this game, buying it now lol
This reminds me of that very plain environment game that had like meteor showers. Except this game took that and expanded it by a thousand percent.
Planet Crafter?
@@darthartagnan4737 no this was like a very simple basic 2d game he showed off long ago.
narwhals need to have way lower temperature (in the negatives i believe)
The narwhals were just like "Nah-wahl."
this game has advance so much since the first time we watched it
If it was that fast and easy to restore the worlds biomes without making it harder for humanity... (though I guess in this game hardly any humanity is left).
Loving this 😍
Google the Devs of this game: they cannot put a foot wrong
Awesome game. 👍👍
YAY, Terra Nil
you should try the pixel prototype version of it in itchio
i think Wander did put a video out showing off the pixel art version! it was how i discovered it a couple years ago :D
RIP narwhals.
The narwhals need it to be cold, like below freezing
