Its flexibility made the ideas for this category flow really fast for a few days - love it when the speedrun community gets in the zone like that! Didn't make it easy for people who wanted a stable route, though (sorry for all the starter resets you had to do, Pulse :P) Love what you're doing with this style of video!

In addition to Meowscarada being a meta-defining attacker in Gen 9 Series 1 and very strong in Smogon singles, we just came *off a gen whose competitive environment was massively shaped by Rillaboom and Venusaur (obv not a new mon but still). Grass be blastin'.

My favorite part of Scarlet and violet runs, is the return of BLJ. It's SO funny to me that Nintendo allowed for almost the exact same glitch from MARIO 64 to return in a Pokemon game almost...what 20 years later or something like that? It's hilarious.
Do you think it could be possible to cut out some of the greedent RNG by using an X def instead of an X atk on the second turn? That way you could ensure you survive another body slam, and it will put you into overgrow range. Is that plus a x2 atk boost not enough?
I don’t think it would change rng at all I guess you could mabey have a slightly less good cat to start but a crit would still kill. And a paralyze is still a paralyze.
Ah good catch, I totally forgot to explain that! We still need physical moves to deal with Tatsugiri and Arven. Which is why the requirements for getting a good starter is ridiculous. 😓

My first file i picked fuecoco and got nowhere after i evolved him into sleledirge. Picked weed kitty in a second file and meowscarada is easily the best and most enjoyable starter i ever used. Meowscarada is definitely the best starter.

I love truly glitchless speed runs, I wanna get in to this, but gonna be going straight vanilla and waiting for the performance updates.
Super Glide is counted as a glitch, but BLJ is counted as an exploit at worst. I fully expect the glide glitch to go away, but I'd be surprised if they got rid of BLJs.

I’m surprised there are not crazy world drops, crazier clipping and wrong-warp shenanigans in this game despite its bugs. I figured we would be glitching all over the place like a PS2 game haha. I wanna speed run multiple gens of Pokémon just straight up full playthroughs and glitchless
The funny thing is that apparently Scarlet and Violet is like a PS2 game in every other way (size, ability of handling multiple objects and far-away objects, story sensibilities).
In absolute simplest terms. Super gliding will be patched because it’s much easier to remove then BLJs. To remove them you’d have to really examine and probably change the entire *x*-idon movement mechanics.

You mentioned a couple times that the run can have some RNG elements because of Paralyze/Confusion. Is there any possible way to pick up a covert cloak when you're buying your X items? There's apparently one on the ground in Montnevera but I imagine that fucks up way too much pathing to be an option.

Fun fact, playing in undocked mode saves at least 5-6 minutes cause of lag. 😂

@@Lankpants Right. Even with Pulse's fairly high HP and Def IVs, his cat still had a 17% chance to go down to two non-crit Body Slams from Greedent.

Yeah it's just a bit too far for Glitchless. This is something we pick up in Glitched though since we head that way!
