What’s REALLY messed up is that when Rick joined all of Morty’s alternate timelines together, he made the one where Morty & the unnamed girl fell in love a reality (we see her turn away in tears when Morty goes back into the vat of “acid”). And Morty, not realizing it, follows Rick back home, leaving her & what might have been the love of his life behind.
The romantic scene was NOT in the script. The director realized that they were about three or four minutes short, so he added that to the show. Brilliant move.
You are comparing Gravity Falls to Rick and Morty.... Because they have the same creator... I'm not doing this again just tell your parents to pay attention to you.
I think you're thinking of the movie "Alive," about a rugby team whose plane crashed on a mountain, and they ended up eating the guys who died in the crash.
What I love about this episode is that it's basically a thing among Ricks that if at anytime Morty comes into the garage talking about "living without consequences" and shit they already know what they have to do🤣
the story train episode was this year's replacement for the interdimensional cable/morty's mindblowers clip show type episode. i guess they just wanted to kick off "the Other 5" with that one (the back half of season 4 came out separately from the first 5 episodes)
With this episode you can really tell that Rick is attempting to retain like power or being like the head of the family.. compared to where it’s at at the end of the season
Alive was the name of the movie adapted from the novel about the rugby team who's plane crashed in the mountains. The scored section reminded me of the first 15 mins of Up as well.
love your channel. polite suggestion: equalize volume for the different audios. Some of you are hard to hear... keep up the great work! (I'm so excited for your GOT series!)
The entire girlfriend sequence was improvised. The script was a few minutes short and they told the episode's director to fill Morty's "save point" montage with whatever he wanted.
One thing I noticed is that rick made it to where he also switches to the similar timeline when the remote is pressed. I mean, when he first uses it he knows that he just killed morty and pressed the reset button. If he wasn't sent to the timeline as well, he should have done a kind of loop of killing morty and pressing the button
What i don't get is if Rick and Morty can see around while in the Vat, why can't people see down in and see them. Either the liquid is transparent or not.
All i could think of when i first watched this episode is what happened when jerry pressed the button, like they were all chilling, watching TV and then Morty turns into a blob and dies
Once you are done with Rick and Morty, highly recommend GRAVITY FALLS! Brilliant writing, comedy gold, and surprises that will leave you speechless. You’ll have barrels of laughs with it
I was waiting for you guys to get to this episode the moment you guys started watching Rick and Morty. Do you guys take show suggestions? I've got one you guys would really like.
When the plane crashes three of the survivors have the same getup as the main crew of South Park; Morty's red hoodie (worn by Kenny), blue red beanie (Stan) and the trapper hat guy (Kyle).
I can't say I like it more than Season 2 Episode 4 where they introduce Sleepy Gary, the best character, but It's certainly the best episode out of seasons 3 and 4. It's more personal than grand, and I like those plots.
I have a theory about this episiode; Rick says "All Ricks have a batch of acid." What if Rick just wanted to lure Morty into this batch of "fake acid" as a means of marinating him in some kind of protective vaccine type deal because the portals they use have an accumulating negative effect and the two of them use it the most and he definitely doesn't want to say what or how would happen without this bath. Alternatively and maybe even more probable is that this fake acid is used as an ingredient of his portal fluid. They all have the portal tech and they all have fake acid and they're both the same kind of green.
Rick is sometimes as dumb as Morty because he could have had the vat of acid be a disguise for a portal and then at that exact moment portal in actual acid to cover their tracks, I mean they’re the exact same color!!! And since Morty “actually did” do all the things he had done, then Rick actually did kill Morty out of childish petty. Also I fucking loved the whole “that’s right Morty, it’s the Prestige” I fucking died at that. This episode was actually 5 minutes short of a script so they told the director “go nuts” and based the whole plane crash thing on this book called Alive, about an actual plane crash where the survivors had to actually cannibalize their dead fellow passengers. Yeah, even the director said he went a little too far.
What I liked was the exposition of the level of pettiness Rick can reach. What I didn't like was the part of execution of the episode with Morty taking the whole blame on himself for what he was clearly manipulated into. And I don't think we've seen him in anything close to a degree of shock before that would stop him from blaming Rick. It doesn't seem likely to me that these events would cause it, given what Morty experienced before (the only out of this would be to make implausible assumption that Rick removed his memories even of the Potion episode). And technically, there _was_ time travel/backward causation used by Rick. I doubt that the writers missed it though - after all, they've written it into the script: "the original point is still saved". Which implies it is part of Rick's pettiness and lying and after confusing and shocking Morty, he counted on his grandson losing the plot of what happened, just wishing it to go away. Do you have any other complaints that come to mind?
So many goddamn plot holes in this one. How is this not time travel? Why was nobody reacting to the melted Morty when he spawned in? If Rick doesn’t like copying stuff why did he straight-up Prestige Morty? Just... sloppy. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy, in an episode that spent the entire first act navel-gazing about execution over idea. It sacrificed execution for the sake of a mindblower of an idea.
This may be me, but Jenny almost getting it hurts my feelings, we are nearing the end of this journey and they are catching up....it has been brilliant!!!! Can't wait to see what they decide to do next

Yeahh man that was what I was thinking when the episode released.
At very least, she seems to remember SOMETHING anyway...
he would've been screwed in that universe though. He did a lot of fucked up things
OMG I didn't notice that. sniff
Jesus Christ
Rick elevates pettiness to God-tier levels.
It pays to be petty 😂
For real for real. His petty is epic. This is one of my favorite episodes of the series.
@@SuaveGemini reminds me of samurai jack, no talking for most of the episode.
“Nooooooooooooo”😎
And still some people like him

The movie is called Alive based on a true story of people in a plane crash forced to eat the other passengers to survive
Beat me to the punch. Sadly the film is old enough now that not a lot of people have seen it which is tragic.
@@KameradVonTurnip
Not nearly as tragic as the plane crash itself.
They showed that on a flight I was on once. People complained until they turned it off.

We had to watch it in junior high school.
Fun times.
"That's a lot of messed up."
"Good episooooode!"
Perfectly summed up in those two sentences, lol
This episode just shows how petty rick is😂
This episode also shows how stupid Jerry is..
This episode also shows how... oh, nevermind
this episode was nominated for an Emmy
Highly recommend Gravity Falls, the creator of Rick and Morty is friends with the creator of Gravity Falls
Oh this one! Id suck if they already watched it tho😅
Gravity Falls is a very fun show
Gravity falls is a masterpiece

The 5 minute scene with Morty & his girlfriend was impressived by the director because the episode was going to be 5 minutes short.
love the use of "impressive" as a past tense verb. one could say he was impressed upon by that short
One of my favorite episodes of all time glad you guys enjoyed it
With this episode you can really tell that Rick is attempting to retain like power or being like the head of the family.. compared to where it’s at at the end of the season
The other survivors of the plane crash are dressed as the kids from south park
And the bar that's shown on the outside where Morty assaults that elder person in a wheelchair is Mo's Tavern from the Simpsons.
@@Cbricklyne they went with too many references this episode

Alive was the name of the movie adapted from the novel about the rugby team who's plane crashed in the mountains. The scored section reminded me of the first 15 mins of Up as well.
I love how Rick says he’s not interested in and has no respect for time travel when he literally has a box on his shelf labeled “Time Travel Stuff”
I love how Kendall starts with the "OK, great episode" and the other girls are still in shock
The movie is called “alive”
Yeah, it's a real effed up thing that actually happened.
I was on team morty this whole episode. Its actually one of my favorites bc it was a focused Morty episode
The way Bukola sings "there's a rat...and he just blew up" 😂😂😂
I find myself rewatching this episode so many times because its so hilarious
When Jerry hit the button, the blonde one felt real trauma lmao

The entire girlfriend sequence was improvised. The script was a few minutes short and they told the episode's director to fill Morty's "save point" montage with whatever he wanted.
It was an Uruguayan rugby team (& others) that were forced to cannibalize after their plane crashed in the Andes. I think they made movies about it.
One thing I noticed is that rick made it to where he also switches to the similar timeline when the remote is pressed. This episode is really similar to the short film One-Minute Time Machine (2014).

Other way around. The disintegrated morty is on the dimension he goes to
This is a case where the term "emotional roller-coaster" actually applies.
Not going to lie, of all the episodes of R&M, this one actually makes me tear up.
I am genuinely surprised that at least one of you knew who Johnny Carson was.
