alum battery from lead acid battery

I took 12years old scooter battery it had 0,7v ,first I put destiled wather in it and charged it then it had 12v . then I converted it to alum .now it can power 40w bulb for few minutes before when I attached bulb voltage droped to 2v.
I will use this battery in solar system in my old off grid house
