hello from a random greek-american who found your videos! it was nice hearing some positives about south sudan and some interesting stuff about the culture, im glad i watched this. we always see such negative portrayals in the media and this seemed like a more authentic and personal perspective
Hello, I am very glad that you took the time to watch my video and found it informative and helpful. I felt the duty to share my experience about my country because other people like you, who haven’t been there, need to see my home in a different light. Thank you once again. I’m appreciate of your feedback 🙏🏾
I recently travelled back in October 2021. I stayed in Juba and Rumbek. Absolutely loveeed my stay there. I was also there for independence in 2011 which was also a beautiful experience. So it was nice to return after 10 years away. I'm planning to travel again in March. Really excited. I love being home and I'm happy to see us returning. Also love your business. Thanks for sharing this video and some wonderful places to visit.
Am also a South Sudanese TH-camr my experience with my country is the best and am discovering more opportunities thanks for your information about our Country ❤❤❤
Thanks so much for this. I am potentially moving to Juba for a year for work and appreciate the commentary and recommendations. Welcome any additional information you can provide apart from what is available here. Hope your flower business is going well, congratulatoins!

I always thought that South Sudan was unsafe, and horrible to live in. Good to see it is great place to take a vacation in a exotic country with many beautiful culutres! You have great courage girl! Keep being you! Much love from America ❤🇺🇸🇺🇸
Culture: not every South Sudanese marry in the way you describe. You are just describing YOUR tribe. It would be good to hear about the different tribes that belong & live in South Sudan. Don’t also forget to mention the land grabbing, violence and strategy to take over Juba from the people who own it originally. Not every tribe OWN cows. Most South Sudanese cultivate and agriculture is huge in Juba. I wonder why you didn’t mention this? I actually think your video is good, I just think it’s one-sided. If we are truly want to talk about culture of South Sudanese, pls represent the WHOLE demography of South Sudan.
And thankyou for this video girl. I've been so scared to go back home cos of the things my mum has told me about it but I'm glad you opened my eyes to a different perspective 💗 thanks sis
I am one of people who live these country called South Sudan even if I didn't grow up there. The sense of belonging is the best experience you can ever have, try Bor Town and you will feel more safer
How is school for teenagers like 15-17? Do they go to super good English schools? Do the wealthy live in mansions? I often hear of people getting murdered rape etc, does this not happen in Juba city? What about flooding and the refugees? Also is it true in South Sudan only 1 % of South Sudanese have access to electricity? I’m doing a research project on this so I really hope you reply .!!!
Hey. I'm a Black American; currently living in Uganda. I would like to visit Juba soon but I want some clarity. As an American who doesn't look Sudanese with an American accent is it unwise for someone like me to go there or are there any precautions I should take?
Hi, thank you for your content. I have a question that probably only you can help. I'm currently trying to compile a list of best selling books by country. Is there a website or place that I can look up that information for South Sudan that you know of?
That’s amazing. Home will always be home. I’m sure you’d bond with a lot of family members if you go to South Sudan and also embrace the cultural while you’re there
The south is South Sudan, as long as it is our country, for which we fought for, and for that we offered our comrades as martyrs in order for our country to enjoy freedom, peace and democracy. We work for peace in our country, our people deserve to be in the forefront because we have a great history, the kingdom of Kush was the one that ruled the world before the Europeans knew civilization, we are a great people with a very great history
The violence part is something that we’ve seen on the news, it’s time for us as South Sudanese to shed a more positive light about our country and let the world know what they don’t see in mainstream media
No need to mislead. South Sudan is not yet in Peace. Maybe unless you talk of Juba. At the same time, as long as your a Dinka in Juba, you may have privilege of that safety. Try driving around the country and bring that experience. Juba is just a capital.
I appreciate that you took the time to write a comment. Please note that this video is about MY experiences and I’m not speaking for others. The reason why I made this video was to talk about the beauty of our country. Talking about tribalism here is not acceptable. It also portrays a negative over exaggerated image on all South Sudanese. Please be aware of that.
@@afrikanconfidential What's wrong about tribalism if it exists ? Your thinking is very flawed. It is his experiences as well. Just because you didn't experience it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Experiences vary, miss.
@emmanuelgathara everyone is free to express themselves and speak about their personal experiences. Despite having so many challenges in South Sudan, I choose to focus on the positive experiences. James Loomwa is absolutely free to talk about his experience and is free to use his platform to do that. I choose to use my platform to speak about the positive experiences in South Sudan and I appreciate that my subscribers are supportive and ready to receive the positive feedback about South Sudan. I would like to maintain that. Thanks.
James, thanks for the clarification, and I also wanted to add onto the point where she said most of the South Sudanese are pastoralists, this is not true at all since we have about 64 tribes and most of them are farmers not cattle keepers only about 4 to 5 tribes with probably the biggest population
I love how you are trying to promote South Sudan, I am a South Sudanese and I want the entire Country to be secure, specialy for its Citizen who live there Insecurity is real in the whole South Sudan. Juba is only a City and its still not safe to live there but maybe just to visit. The whole Country is very insecure and thats why alots of south Sudanese dont want to go back to South Sudan. you will never know when something can happen and any thing can happen any time, 2013 and 2016 a major war brake out in Juba City and a lots of people were killed including foriegners. Know South Sudanese and the whole world are waiting to see when will the next major war will brake out because the Politician are not willing to make peace and put security of the intire country in place.
As a 5'7" white man, if I visited this region, I would probably be asked if I was a hobbit in the Lord of the Rings movies, lol! Especially around the Dinka. These Africans, especially the Dinka make the tallest white people, the Dutch, look short.
Culture: not every South Sudanese marry in the way you describe. You are just describing YOUR tribe. It would be good to hear about the different tribes that belong & live in South Sudan. You’re right, it’s my perspective and experience which I choose to share on my platform. I also made it a point to share positive information about South Sudan. There are plenty of media outlets and TH-cam channels that will share more of what you’ve commented on. The world needs to hear more positive information about our country and it’s our duty to do so.
@@afrikanconfidential Thank you and I really appreciate you getting back to me. I know there are other channels however when I watched your video it just came across as though South Sudan had one culture and this is not true as you know. The positive thing to say about our culture is to show the world that the people of South Sudan are diverse. You gave one perspective, which was beautiful but at least mention that it’s one aspect of the culture. The things that divided us are many and it doesn’t help when we continue in the same way during peace times too.
In this case you can also say that it’s your perspective of how you view South Sudan. I also mentioned at the beginning of my video that it’s my perspective of our country and that’s what I chose to share. You may have a different experience which is unfortunate but I believe that our country is United and we are all working together to build it, which may be in different ways. I appreciate your feedback once again and will be happy to share more videos which will incorporate more information about South Sudan.
